    Your pants are Perfect!!! Don't worry about the zipper, it's a "design" feature. The drape on the back of your wrap is divine and both items go well together. I've got wool from Fabric Mart that I purchased a few months ago but I can't make the decision about which pattern to use, so I completely understand your indecision about the coat fabric. Happy stitching.

      Thank you for the compliments, I was very happy with the pants, and I try not to sweat stuff like screwed up zippers, I have had them come out worse! That coat is giving me some fabric stress! The pattern has spoken to me, but the fabric hasn't made itself known yet. I will wait it out and come back to it when the stars align. Sometimes that's just the way it goes. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks found this pattern very basic in the instructions. Didn’t really understand the waist band until I saw your post.

      Elaine Dennis the instructions were definitely on the sparse side. Glad I could help, and I hope your pants turn out great!

    Love how the pants turned out. They look great! I have to say that I was not crazy about the pattern on your planing video but you have changed my mind. They are really nice. The cardigan is great too! Love the fabric! Can't wait to see your fabric haul! Thank you for sharing your sewing!

      Sometimes all it takes is seeing it in real life. I have felt that way about some other peoples makes. I wasn't feeling it, but when I saw how they did it, i was into it all of a sudden. You never know what will get your creative juices flowing. My goal with my channel is to have fun and share my projects with you all, not to force anyone into having the same taste as me. That's why I am not into the contests where everyone has to sew the same pattern. I don't like most of that stuff, so why sew it? Anyway, glad to have you watching, and I cant wait to see my damn haul too, I'm still waiting on some mail!

    Absolutely stunning! I just bought the pants pattern, so excited now to get them sewn up. I am ass challenged 😐 so now I know to not be lazy and do the muslin. Great job, now I Need to get the jacket pattern! Thanks for sharing!

    • @SewingatMidnight
      @SewingatMidnight  6 лет назад

      Thank you! You don't even have to do a full length muslin. You could just make a shorts length to see if the important parts fit! I did full length because i wanted to check the length would be ok with heels. They were fine, super long in fact. Do it!!!

    I’m watching this because your body type is similar to mine. Love your makes. I would have never gone for making a Cardi that drapes like that but you convinced me is a beautiful make!!! Love you pants!!! Thank you for sharing:)

      @SewingatMidnight  6 лет назад

      The Write Yohansen we are in the curvy girls club together! I was super apprehensive about that cardi as well, it took me a long time to pull the trigger. I'm sure the key to keeping it from getting caught up on the booty is to have something slippery facing the body.

    Amazing makes, I cut out that pants pattern but afraid to make because I always have to make adjustments as my hip to waist ratio is crazy...u are so chill in ur vids

    • @SewingatMidnight
      @SewingatMidnight  6 лет назад +1

      Cheri, I am super chill in real life too! What you see is what you get with me. I just swear more and wear pajamas more when I am off camera. Don't fear those pants, make a muslin and just see where you are at with it. That's what I did, then you have no fear of screwing up your fancy fabric. You don't need much, you could sew up a shorts version just to check the butt/hip area.

    Your outfit is beautiful! Both makes are wonderful, congratulations! That topper - 😍. I really enjoy using Burda patterns - but I’m not about to attempt grading up from 44 to 56 even for those amazing pants. I appreciate their plus sizes so much, hopefully something similar to 6573 will appear from them soon 🤞🏽. Keep up the great vlogs - you’re so talented and an inspiration!

      @Jill Pohren, there are some great RUclips tutorials on how to grade up existing patterns. It's definitely worth checking these out to see if they are any good.

    You nailed it all! I loved your waterfall top and then I viewed the pants! How do you get that fit? In my dreams! Yay darts. Love watching your rapid progress and willingness to share. I don’t think you need to offer a giveaway. We owe you.

      Beverly, holy crap, that is some high praise! It made my day! Well thank you, I wish I could tell you I have some magical pants fitting method, but really all i did was take in the darts. In fact, all I have ever had to correct is the waist to hip area, so I am calling it a lucky break that the pattern companies crotches match up with mine! Thank you for watching, and I am glad you are having a good time.

    Great job! I made that MCcall pattern in an ITY knit, I think I did View D (it's all connected in the front) and it did drape really nice. Oh my gosh those pants are SUPER cute and look great on you and LADY those shoes....HOT HOT HOT!!! BTW, the zipper looks fine in the pants. Congrats on making 100 subbies!!!

      Thank you so much! Proud to call you one of the hot 100! I love those shoes too! Sadly the number of occasions I have to wear those shoes can be counted on one hand. I am going to have to go out more to show off my new outfit!

      cherriesnhoney that pink velvet was in the February Julie's picks from Fabric Mart! I love it too, but I may have missed my window for making it up this season. Do the pants! You will love them!

    So loving the pants. It's a fashion thing for the zipper to show....so there. I love that jacket....but I have way to much booty for anything like that. Any plans for.February? Your fitting is great. That is my goal for the year. I made simplicity 1072 yesterday, but instantly make the largest size. I'm gonna have to let someone else have it cause it's so big.
    Have a good one!

      Thank you Karla! You know, I forgot to mention this, but next time, i think i will make that zipper 1" longer because need just a little more room to jam my ass in there. Bountiful Booty problems for sure. I have that pattern! Did you make the top of the skirt? I have only made the sweatshirt and it was when i first started and it went very poorly! I still wear it as pajamas though, have you tried Nancy Zieman's method of choosing a big 4 pattern size? It has done wonders for me as far as starting out with the right size. If you would like, I can try to do a video on it. Let me know. I do have some makes planed, but I change my mind a lot, so I end up looking like a liar...

    • @sxychoc
      @sxychoc 6 лет назад

      YES...I'd enjoy seeing the method. My mother worked for McCalls for 32 years so I grew up using their products. And I worked there when they bought Butterick/Vogue...but now that I need to adjust for measurement changes, I'm just stuck.

    • @SewingatMidnight
      @SewingatMidnight  6 лет назад

      Sherri, don't you hate when that happens! I had some raw silk boucle that I freed from my moms stash and absolutely destroyed it trying to make a crazy jacket in the Pattern Review competition this past fall. It broke my damn heart, I feel your pain! Look at it this way, there are people in this world who are to afraid to try stuff and take chances and they wish they could be like you! They probably have beautiful stashes, but very "safe" clothing to wear. There is room in this world for both types of people and we can learn from each other. Or we could throw our disasters in the corner and mix up a drink to drown our sorrows in.

      True dat!. Sewing a mens tie at the moment and wonders where can i get a SHARP pair of fabric scissors? My edges are janky which is making my seams not line up.
