    It seems like the loss of the righthand recovery point would be a deal breaker for a swing out tire mount? I guess you could take the tire, roto pac and mount off and reinstall the recovery point. For a lightweight truck a trailer hitch mounted recovery would be an option but not for some of the larger trucks.

    • @exhaustinglife
      @exhaustinglife  3 года назад +1

      It is removable but dont think it woudl be necessary to remove for most recoveries. No no-Bison ZR2s or standard Colorados have the recovery points. It is an upfitter option but even amongst the rest of the mid-size or even full-size trucks none have a dual recovery point from factory.
      With that said I have not needed it and the hitch mounted swing does have the ability place center receiver style recovery shackle should i feel the need. The hitch receiver is rated for 10k utility so it should suffice for most recoveries.

    It would be nice to see the unit, full swing, half swing with bikes. Maybe take the time to take the roto pack off to show the accessory behind.

      RigD Supply has lots of variations that are not in the scope of my build but are available. I went over the features that were key in my decision making on how i used my rig and how their product satisfied that.
      I have an updated video with a couple new accessory arrangements with the new Ultratable, repositioning the fuel cell and how i use the offset hitch mount for my waterport. I will definitely address your points on mounting then and show it in more detail.
      Their site has lots of other photography and YT has many more videos on the bike rack aspect but since I don't ride, i don't have a bike rack or a mental place to talk about that part of their product.
      I'm not a paid influencer / spokesperson for them but a shopping customer that got involved when their was a lack of fitment for my application. Prior to my getting involved, they didn't have a fitment for the Bison variant with my rear bumper. In working with them to find a solution, I became a Fanboy for life for their attention to detail, pursuit of quality and true customer centric innovation.
      Thanks for the feedback.

    • @exhaustinglife

      No. The swing receiver has a 10,000 lb rating and I have towed and CanAm Maverick on a flatbed trailer behind this setup with no issues.

    • @exhaustinglife
      @exhaustinglife  3 года назад +2

      There are quite a few different wants from using vise grips and a wedge without disassembling the rear bumper. I did partially disassemble the rear bumper to remove the recovery point but there are a total of 4 torx bolts to remove and the other two are not easily accessible without disassembling the bumper

    Very clean solution on the recovery point elimination. I like the Bison rear bumper but I have a Wilco Offset and didn't want to hack that recovery point. You could sell those covers. I like that RIGd carrier, better clearance than the Wilco. You can get a GM plug and play camera for about $100 and mount as needed.

    • @exhaustinglife
      @exhaustinglife  3 года назад +2

      I found a compatible weatherproof JVC camera and will come up with a switch module that will switch from the tailgate to the Ultraswing mounted one when plugged in. Should be a quick IC board project.

    Both ARE and Leer offer relocation break lights with back up camera that is plug and play with OEM harness. My shell/cap has the barn doors so the tail gate had to come off and is in the garage. I removed the camera from the tail gate latch and harness from the tail gate and temporarily mounted in my bumper next to License plate. But it will need to go higher since I am planning to add a spare tire carrier such as this one to rear hitch. Why I looked into this. I like the idea of not cutting a hole in the shell to mount the camera. Replacing the break light that also holds the camera is a clean alternative and gets your camera out of harms way. The following link has OEM relocation kits for cameras or OEM replacement Cameras www.zorg-na.com/
