There's a reason why high-end speakers are called stand mounts. You're obviously a bookshelf speaker, Guy, or should that be resonance vibrating subwoofer Guy. Sound is made from vibrations that disrupt the air and travel to our ears, where we transform them into a message our minds can understand.

@GrindMyGears I've given you a thumbs up for your reply, but I subscribed for your sense of humour 😅 You've actually made me feel a bit of a twat now. It was just the reaction of seeing bookshelfs positioned on top of subs! Of course, as well as the vibrations and resonance coming from your subs. Having your stereos on stands will not just help with centre imaging, soundstage imaging, but, more importantly, an enhanced sound stage. However in your particular case which I don't think you realise having your speakers brought out of that enclave will improve the Sonic qualities of the room, obviously a little bit of room treatment would help, but hey not only have you got a baby, you got a beautiful cat too 🥰
@@Totalplonker thank you!! I wish this was a normal room that I can do stuff with it but it’s a big open space to the kitchen and a wide somewhat long corridor that leads to my office and main door. Your walls must made of other materials. Brick walls and hardened windows don't shake. Shaking your apartment walls and windows should be possible even with 4 inch woofer. I believe your house has poor stc. You need to install those in house made of bricks with 50+ STC. If you can punch your wall and hear a sound back and wall vibrate, your walls are not good. If you have such poor STC, even playing small speakers will be audible to neighbors within 10 meter as domestic speakers have spl capabilities to throw sound 10 meter. Improve your STC, reduce reflections, decouple etc
If you want to experience how it was produced, make sure you have little reflections. Those walls will make their own noise. Get a room with higher STC, treatment etc
@@josealfredfernandes I wish I can have a dedicated media room… maybe in the future. Unfortunately that’s how they build homes in USA lol. Walls made from basically thick cardboard.
