TRUMPF is a company with more than 90 years of history.
In 1923 businessman Christian Trumpf purchased the Julius Geiger mechanical workshops in Stuttgart. The firm manufactured flexible shafts with which drills and other tools were powered. The company and the product line grew rapidly. Initially, motor-driven shears designed specially to cut sheet metal and afterwards curve shears - the predecessors to today’s punching machines, were added. 1950 marked the dawn of a new era for TRUMPF.
Berthold Leibinger started an apprenticeship in the company owned by his godfather, Christian Trumpf. For the next 55 years he has been forming the company profoundly.
Today TRUMPF is the world technological and market leader for machine tools used in flexible sheet metal processing, and also for industrial lasers.
