I love how the trick is relatively simple to follow to begin with. If you know how skilled some people are at sleight of hand, everything up til he starts changing the color of a single card makes perfect sense. Then it all goes bonkers.
I watch Jason do a routine and, even if I know (or think I know) how it's done, I'm still amazed at his showmanship and the skill as a performer. This guy, on the other hand, it's just a straight up wizard. I couldn't even begin to guess how he did ANY of this.
I remember watching his stuff live on tv once, and it looked like a specially made table to help with the switches. The color of the room needs to be just right to light it up
He's awesome. Just being someone who loves watching magic, I really appreciate the skills he showed in the beginning. Not to mention a flawless bottom deal, but switching the red card he's dealing with the blue cards he had palmed in the other hand left me speechless. You can't see anything during that switch. Kudos to this guy. He's got tons of talent.
It’s not talent, that’s an insult to his dedication and hard work. He good because he’s good, he’s good because he spent countless hours and probably even sleepless nights. ❤
Ah... yes, I remember this routine, great job of Eric Chien. I also remember that "back in the day", there where two "versions" of his FISM performance video online... one "raw" and this later version, wich is slightly blurred in some moments or "regions" of the table. The early "raw" version gave away some of the methods. Someone already mentioned Shin Lim. If one studies the work and methods of Shin Lim, well, he might get some clues and inspirations, how something like this could be achieved.
I have seen this routine like 15 times and I will never get tired of it! It is my favorite routine of all time done by my favorite magician of all time!I got so exited when i saw that my favorite RUclips magican was reacting to it!
He's very good, but if you go frame by frame in the coin part you can actually see the black face of the blue card in 2 distinct moments. The only 2 things I can't explain are the 2 white rectangles appearing on the table and the pile of coins changing into cards and back into coins. For the rectangles it's either black at or flapping, but either way there is not even a slight movement. Can a flap be faster than a camera? As per the pile of coins... Completely clueless lol That being said, he's freaking awesome.
The coins into cards is easy when you think about it, he places them in a certain position and makes sure to HEAVILY press on the coins/cards when they are all on THAT particular half of the table (note how he deliberately crosses his arms when the coins change to cards). We also can't see his feet (which may be able to press a pedal or w/e), so the OBVIOUS way it's done for BOTH changes is that the underside of the table in THAT particular location can rotate, and the coins and cards therefore swap places when they are OUT OF VIEW during the rotation (there may even be someone under the table to put the coins/cards into place).
I don't know if you play Magic The Gathering or know any of the creators in that space but you remind me of SaffronOlive and the vibes are always immaculate! Great video man!
I mean, he kinda hinted how this is done very early when those cards just appeared on the boxes, but I still have no idea how the table can be gimmicked like that. There are things that you can figure out, but even those are too damn well performed.
I don't know about digital ink, talking about the rectangles right? When they disappear there is a coin on top. I was thinking more to flapping... But I don't know if you can flap faster than a camera.
He's got a world beating routine but it looks like there's an edit when he restores the partial card? And the false lid on the box seems a bit too obvious.
No, no editing on the partial card. Want a little clue? Black art and magnets. 65% of this routine is black art, remaining 35% a mixture of very skillful slight of hands and lapping.
This is amazing! When you go 11:22 to 11:23 frame by frame, you can see two black cloaks/covers appearing over the two white rectangles even before his hands reached them. It looks like video editing or black cloth. My head tends to video editing (there is so much fake out there in the world rn) but my heart tends to the cloth. What is happening here? Anyone knows how this could be done without him reaching the place with his hands before the place changes appearence? Thanks!
it still bugs me that he did that killer routine in the first round of AGT and not later, but easy to say afterwards... He's a true wizard, if you don't know him you should check out his other performances on Got Talent shows, or the rare ones on his own YT channel, it's... let's just say: _worth the watch_ ^^
Contestants do not get an option in AGT and BGT of which routine they perform, they show the producers 2/3 routines and the producers then tell them which order to perform. Its why you see so often best tricks first and then not so good ones later on. Its a bit scummy tbh.
@@dartfield4655 Yeah that is exactly it, funnily enough it was a magician who did the "expose" video, where he laid out how horrible it is and how limited you actually are over your act, basically he wanted to do one of his acts in live shows (he said the producers had already told him before he met the judges he would get yes from them) so he wanted to save his big trick, but they would not allow him, and he said what you said, because it was better for TV at that time.
@@jamieboi11 yeah it sucks big time for the performer, but they are running a franchise that sells all over the world, if they decided it should be that way, it will be, in their eyes, no one is bigger than the show. maybe the rules change after the auditions? but the performers have already made a name for themselves at this point, so the producers know their presence will make people watch... show-business is still business after all.
Even if it were edited, how would you perfectly match cut between two takes in motion so that one frame has a coin, the second has nothing, and the third has a card?

That is JAW DROPPING STUFF…Insane….thanks for bringing it to our attention! New fan from Canada!
You’re absolutely incredible. I share with others of course. I don’t understand how you can know so many different tricks.
This routine is so good that the first time I watched it, I was sure that it was not real and heavily edited
He is phenomenal, and thank you for lowering the volume on that cough/laugh, saved my ear drums 😂👍🏾

I can make poker chips disappear too just watch me play Texas hold em for an hour
There is really no mystery about it. He sold his soul to Satan, and gained magical powers in return.
👏👏👏👏 for the bad magic edit 😆😆😆

It's crazy that it's a live performance. The cards disappearing reminds me of green screen magic where you can just drop something into oblivion.
I'm glad u kept going back cause I'm as slow as ur friend! Lol

Haha - nice edit Mika. Great video Jase.
He’s. Awesome he said that. They call him the next. Shin lim.
I always thought the best magicians can blow people's minds without talking. Show, dont tell
