Sadly, 4274 was scrapped in 1959. Also, it weighed something north of 600,000 lbs., meaning that it would snap the masts of 100-ton cranes like matchsticks. This is a lovely fantasy, but only that.

4274 is scrapped and 4294 is preserved at the CSRM with no plans to restore it. What I’ve heard from people in the museum, there was water left in the boiler when SP donated it to the CSRM. She’ll never run again

You all know this is not real right ? You would need a lot more crane to pick that locomotive I own a heavy haul outfit worked with a lot of rigging and crane companies have moved rolling mills stamping presses and brakes over 200 K weights . Where are the air lines to the locomotive and did they lube it and fill the oil reservoir and check the pump ?

Ever thought of using a 35 ton Plymouth Locomotive it has a shorter wheelbase it can make that curve.
35 ton Plymouth Ml-8 can do it under 18° radius

However, this proves that Man has created this magnificent machine and Man such as Mr. Gustave ( The Magnificent ) will bring it to its former glory... Rest assured that... The Golden hands of Mr. Gustave with his superior knowledge and imagination will bring this masterpiece of engineering back to life such as others that warranted restoration..... All The Very Best... Successful recovery of the cab forward. Now it's on the path to restoration. However the consist is moving slowly due to the cab forward being in really bad shape. It'll take a while for the recovery consist to get to the workshop. Once it's there, restoration and repair work will commence.
