Tarja's solo career is underrated. The Shadow Self was an outstanding album. The last album was pretty good in its own right as well

Not that anyone really cares, but I met Tarja last month. What a nice person she was. For me the weirdest part was that I didn't introduce myself to her first, she did it first. I work in a church and she was on a tour there and before her show started she came up to me and introduced herself. It totally got me off guard, because I usually have to desperately try to make myself be noticed so that I can introduce myself, because a lot of artists feel superior to people like me. It was also nice to notice that she isn't a diva as some have made her seem.
My experience when I met her in 2008 was just like that 😊

believe me, my friend many people care and love to be in your shoes...i met her once in Canada standing in line waiting for an autograph...i felt a tap on my shoulder and thought it was my girl,..turning around i saw hand placed on my shoulder and instantly recognized it as the one on which she always wears the big black ring....suddenly realizing it was her, i stumbled back a bit,..she responded by giving me a taste of that infectious laugh and gave me a 3 second hug, which to me felt as though it lasted an hour...then she pursed her lips and said"did not mean to startle you" and like an idiot i said "anytime"..she laughed again and moved over to the next person in line....great memory
The band demonized her with the "diva" word, when she got her hotel accommodations and stopped touring in a bus. What both Anette and she criticized the band, is that they were exhausted by the intense pace of gigs (5 to 6 in a week) and their voice (and health) couldn't take it. That's why she claims she needed the hotels, for rest. But also this touring pace divided them, and towards the end the feelings went sour in the band, so I'm guessing that may also play a role with the hotels. But the band hated she did that, as is seen from the open letter, too. I'm thinking the band payed the trabveling costs, and they thought it ate too much band profits.
@@Aurinkohirvi Actually too much touring was only a problem with Anette and they've admitted later on that it wasn't a wise thing to do.
Tarjas husband Marcelo was the problem during Tarja era, because other members wanted to do more gigs and with lower prices, but Marcelo wanted way too much profit. Also, Tarja didn't attend training sessions and was constantly doing her own solo stuff. Also, she said to Tuomas that she doesn't need Nightwish and can leave whenever she wants which was the last stick in the fire for Tuomas.

A&P-REACTS - Thank you very Much for this video! I only discovered it now! Although I think that Tarja Turunen's last album "In the Raw" is her best one so far, "Undertaker" still remains one of my favourite songs by Tarja, and yes, I agree with you that the musicians Tarja brings on stage are really professional and great artists by themselves (at one point in her career Tarja toured with Kiko Loureiro - current Megadeth guitarrist, plus Doung Wimbish (from Living Colour, Mike Terrana, Alex Scholpp... all of them amazing!
Your critical observations are always on point, and I really like to watch all your videos!!!
BUT one thing I may say is that I really hope that someday you can also interview tha Metal Queen herself - Tarja Turunen (I've seen your GREAT interview with Anette, she was so sweet! And more recently with Floor, so with a Tarja interview, you'd have interviewed all Nightwish's crown jewels).

This is one of my favorite Tarja live videos, and it's a great song. Understated to start, and then it catches you by surprise and drags you in.
I were waiting for a Tarjas video from You guys, What a great song you chorused, you need to listen the version with Cello with Max ex apocalíptica who it’s the Celo en Tarjas band, it’s superb, this song it’s very catchy and enjoyable. Her compositions are great, listen to all those people who claps the entire song xD

One of the most unique and interesting underground metal bands.
And I think the reason is hers, because it's not a band. She should have made a band. Of course, many of those guys have been with her for years: it is basically a band. Yet it officially is not.
It's very difficulto to compete in metal, if you go as a soloist, instead as a band. I'm just saying.

Undertaker is the song where "singing" is not pretty: she kind of cries mourning or suffering when she shouts the lyrics. Of course, if a person specializes in Christmas songs like she does, there's gotta be a beautiful voice - but it's not so apparent in this song. Very classically influenced metal, of course I love the violins that play major role in it, along with keyboard. Bouncy rhythm, which you could see too, when she and everybody are basically jumping up and down during the song.

I dunno?. This song sounds good musically, but i can not bear her singing style, it suited better to the pompous melodies of Nightwish. Well opinions are like a....... , and i have mine.
She is not singing in this one. It's my problem with this too, because I know there's a beautiful voice, but she is not using it in this one. And I always think it's such a waste. She basically shouts the words (very little legato), and in a mourning, suffering fashion, which I guess is the theme in a song called "Undertaker".
Yeah instrumetally it's near classical music metal. I like it.
This shit is such a bad, soulless attempt at trying to imitate the sound of Nightwish. It's as if the composer has listened to Nightwish, recognized how it kind of sounds like but failing at trying to reproduce the essence of the music, only producing some garbage that has the same instruments and similar melody patterns. As for your channel, I like what you do, and I hope you keep it up!
Man this is far away to imitate nightwish, it's a great song, with Gothic and symphonic elements, it's more like epica than nightwish, but with a very unic voice; I think tarja songs are very different from the actual nightwish songs, witch is good! We can enjoy both great bands!
