I felt it ended really abruptly. It would have been cool if they were back go Green Hill and Sonic and Tails said hello to them. It just ended on an odd freeze frame.

Couldn’t agree more. They dropped the ball so hard by not exploring background with the echidna tribe with Chao,Tikal, and chaos along with the mystic ruins and SA1 background. Some how tying all that into the movie timeline. Anything like that would have been 10x better.
