The scare was like The Ring meets Jeffrey Dahmer meets Law and Order
Now that is a good way to describe it lol
I love this season. First season was heavily traumatizing and triggering. The Scare gave me candy man vibes. The plot twist in ep 8 was icing on the cake for me.
Candyman was the first thing I thought of as well. I wish I knew why the victims covered their mirrors.
Yeah I notice it’s mostly white people that think season 1 is better. Season 1 is great but it feels like it’s exploiting on black trauma for entertainment. All black people in America have had similar experiences with what that family went through.
I find only yt people like the first season more. It felt like it was exploiting blk pain for entertainment. I heard a yt person produced the first season. For blk people it hits too close to home. All black people in the Americas have experienced that sort of trauma in some way .
I was so mad he didn’t tell Dawn he was her brother!!!
Me too. I was like, what are you doing. Lol
@WelcomeToTheDarkside I'm thinking he didn't want to tell her because she was so normal and didn't want to mess her up. She had a career, family all the things he wanted but couldn't achieve because of all the trauma he experienced.
Clearly He had severe PTSD was scared had a panic attack after all those terrible memories staying at the foster home...and traumatically and emotional unstable.... and hurt....that he had to leave because her family was so normal... He tried but she made him leave I mean it was all over his face...it was really 😢
Luke James killed his role as Edmond and deserves a Emmy for his epic performance.
The actress who played Dawn in season two and Lucky in season one is a beautiful and very talented actress.
I agree.
@@WelcomeToTheDarkside So many beautiful dark skinned people. The little girl who played little Gracie, so cute. And the actor who played the father had beautiful eyes and skin. And the actress who was in Us, who played the older daughter. So pretty. I love our Black people.
Luke James needs to win some awards for this role. He was amazing
Yes he did an amazing job!
No seriously, usually he's so fine to me in whatever I see him in. This time I cannot believe I was truly turned off and then horrified by him. I lost my crush lol but that's a testament to him (and hair & makeup) for truly becoming this deranged character.
Season 1 laid out the background of the demon
Let me start by saying Luke James did his THING!!! I enjoyed the second season I wish Edmond did tell her he was her twin when he went to her house. I didn't like the ending. However I am curious about season 3.
Yes!!👐🏾 Luke did an amazing job! I thought the ending was okay. Since the show is going to be a horror anthology, I hope it will be new stories every season.
@@WelcomeToTheDarkside that would be great. I'm actually NOT into horror however, I love the story lines, settings, costumes and cinematography! I often choose my films/ shows based on the actors.
He did he said im Edmund but she did not remember him he was hurt because the only person who truly loved him did not remember him or the trauma they faced when they were kids his only family member ....he wasn't black enough and had issues as a kid because of his separation from his sibling and the trauma and abuse he faced he wanted his sister to see him and remember he loved his sister dearly but she forgot all about him..he gave his real name dawn didn't look it up..the mom tried to tell her the story but she ran away from all her problems in the series except when she was helping others
As good as Luke James did they gotta bring him back! Also bring Poppa Emory back! Season 3 definitely has my interest peaked
Currently on episode 4 the demon thing is confusing and i don’t understand how it ties with them and whom it attacks and kills but overall the way this show is shot and Luke James portrayals his character is amazing he’s really scary 😅
I loved this season but I do have a few gripes Dawn she was great but she terrible at communicating she didn't make a safe space for anyone with jumping to a defensive mode. With Edmond coming over he lied yes but anyone can sence he was there for something and very nervous she didn't make a safe space at all. I also hated her removing the boy from his house that was a terrible idea. She made a lot of questionable decisions I am happy she got cleared of the charges . I do want more of her exploring her family's background now that a new unwanted friend has showed up.
I agree. Edmund was nervous and scared to tell Dawn what his purpose was for coming to Dawn's home. I felt bad for Edmund because he got rejected from his foster family and now his own sister. I wonder if Edmund had told Dawn who he was, would've changed Edmund ways.🤔
That part when he was dressed as a killer for his audition....That scared the you-know-what out of me!
Same my first reaction was OMG lol. Luke played that character very well.
I just finished this season in two days. Absolutely amazing and very saddening. Luke James did an amazing job! I just wish they explored more on Dawns experience as a detective and the backstory of her and ex husband
Me too! I finished the entire show in two days. I agree on Dawn experience and backstop of the husband. I hope Luke James wins an award of his performance.
@@WelcomeToTheDarkside he’s so underrated. His vocals and acting are impeccable ♥️ he’ll always be Noah to me from ⭐️ lollll
It was too demonic for me! It was a bit confusing at first as to why they kept switching back and forth to Dawne and Edmund! It was so much. I would have really liked this if it didn’t have so much demonic scenes. I feel like the demon is what psychosis is. Especially what the son was doing in the classroom. Tapping the floor and the table. Yea that’s definitely psychosis.
I enjoyed it a lot but same.
Normally I watch horror movies, and it’s very rare that I get scared and dream of the movie after but this one did. I still enjoyed it though the story line but the demons in this movie felt a lil too real idk if this has to do with the fact I’m black too.
* her Dr assumed it was from the heart
* Parents didn't want anything to do with him... Well, there are reasons they tried
When I found out that a white guy produced the first one I kinda felt a certain type of way ! Because for me it was violent I never heard of it in my life
The new season was good, it was fun to watch
Oh I probably won’t be able to do a season three. That hideous minstrel demon came back. I thought the father killed it in season one.
So, Da Tap Dance Man basically feeds off of traumatic experiences from racial injustice, which Dawn experienced being a detective. Henry killed the Tap Dance Man in Season one, but unfortunately it ended up being one of the white neighbors that held them hostage in the home in Season 1. Whatever happened to the family at the end of Season 1 when the family was standing in the front yard, with guns drawn on them by the police. Causes the curse to be passed down to the next generation. Also, they have not dug into what happened to Emory's youngest sister yet either.
This is absolutely a genius show and series.
@@merkeezzee You did a great job explaining some stuff I was kind of lost on. I see now the family is haunted. I did want to know what happened to the youngest child Gracie? I guess she will come in season three if there is one.
This show was 🔥
Loved both seasons! When I realized the connection between the two I jumped up… lol I felt the first one had no ending and apparently it doesn’t :) I loved them. Now… I would love another season of Swarm. lol funny you mentioned AHS. I was like this is it! Love it lol
Yessss Swarm was good and needs to be talked about more.
Luke ❤
I didn't like this season at all, the twist was very cool but other than that I found it very messy and generic at best. I like season 1 way more, I know it was exploitative but it was extremely effective. That being said, I'm glad everyone else seemed to enjoy it 'cause I would definitely like to see a third season. I love anthology series
Still don’t understand how mirrors even played a part in
I just finished season one. I am getting ready to start season two.
Let me know what you thoughts of season 2 when you are do.😊
@@WelcomeToTheDarkside Will do. Season one upset me terribly.
@maryburrell3948 I didn't like season one at all. I don't recommend anyone watching season one.
@@WelcomeToTheDarkside I finished season two of Them, The Scare
Both seasons didn’t scare me. Season one, made me angry. It made me realize the evil, and supernatural elements depicted in the series is the soul of America. Racism and hatred is demonic. My heart broke for the Black family that was impacted by all the hate and oppression by the system in this country. I do think the show was an accurate portrayal of the sickness of our political system today. Especially the Republican Party/ MAGA. The depravity of the former President and his unhinged supporters today. Season Two, I was not scared. But it did open my eyes to what happens to children in the foster care system. Especially when children are unadoptable. When they have severe mental and emotional behavioral issues.
Some families do return those kids back to the foster system, because they can’t take care of those children. It’s tragic. Because they will age out of the system, broken, and mentally unstable. And then they will be a danger to society and themselves. It was an accurate portrayal of law enforcement culture. They are state sanctioned gangs members. They don’t protect nor serve Black and Brown people in this country. The supernatural elements of the show was just a mirror of what is wrong in this country. They systemic oppression that is baked into the fabric of this country.
Even if he did tell her he was her twin I believe she wouldn’t have believe him and thought he was crazy!!! The mother should have been told dawn about her past and her twin!! So that when Edmond did come around she may have believe it.
I wanna know abt the girlsssss that got killed wdf
Do you have a video on season 1?
For Them? No. I don't have a video for season 1.
@@WelcomeToTheDarkside you should do one there aren’t many and ik a lot of ppl would watch myself included
Nah i liked the first season way better
This show sucks. It's like a kindergarten animated horror. And, boring! I was fast-forwarding it to the scenes with Edmund. He's the only interesting character and even he is annoying. The ocd son is annoying cause he can't act. Some good shows are the handmaid tale, Mindhunter, From, just the first season of Cruel Summer not the second. I could probably name more, but that's all I could think of. Atleast you enjoyed this series though. Too each their own. Check out some of the ones I mentioned if you haven't please. Peace & blessings!!
From is the only horror show I check for. Just hoping to doesn't get wonky like Lost eventually did.
I get it. Some people didn't like Season 2. I watch all of the series that you had mention. From is one of my favorite series. So excited for Season 3.😊
@collectedcompositions83 I watch Lost 2 years ago for the first time. That show was frustrating lol
@@WelcomeToTheDarkside Yeah it was lol, like time travel? smoke monsters? Get all the way outta here with that!
#1 He for sure wasn't OCD. And on that, I can assume you're not for shows that take you on a journey in to the psyche of a person. Glad you liked those other shows, but Cruel Summer was boring in my opinion.
