No doubt, Hamsun is the best writer of XX century. So far, I read Pan, Hunger, and Growth of the Soil. Real masterpieces of true genius! But nowadays people only pay attention on his political beliefs (they do the same with Wagner, Celine, Degas, Pound...). I think that political correctness is another name for lack of talent.
Ok, he made a mistake by supporting the nazis (he read Nietzsche too much) but he is still one of my favourite writers, and Sult probably my favourite novel.
Who gives a shit about Sweden when he betrayed Norway!!!! he betrayed my country, and i he payed a prize. But i forgive him. He was not a nazi. I don`t care about Sweden..They didn`t help us when Hitler invaded Norway in 1940!
@@yellyman5483 are you high? sweden was neutral, exactly the same as norway tried to do but failed due to their advantageous coastline, and if sweden picked the allies side they would get invaded aswell due to the iron mines in kiruna... and sweden did help, they took in refugees that was hunted by the the nazis due to standing with the allies. sweden was literally helping with everything they got... and thats not good enough for you?
