#3 piston is smoked. You are SE of me across the Bay. The brackish water takes a toll on manifolds and risers and the Sierra brand isn’t the greatest. Great to have friends to help you on a cold day and nice to see the “toolbox” was full with some beer.
I got the same boat just 2 years newer. Mines similar engine issues with 1100 hrs on it. Now I see how easy it is to pull the motor and whether or not is worthy rebuilding mine when the time comes. Thanks!
i have the same boat paid 3 grand for it with a bad motor. i put a 427 small block with a 671 blower on it. 650 hp/ yes i had to cut a hole in the engine cover. looks great and runs great. i do not use it for skiing, just like inboards. took out the ski pole. reminds me of a old chris craft and now it is a cross between my old sanger v drive and a chris, lots of fun
LS swap with a holley HP standalone. That motor is done, when you see vapors coming out the valve cover like that its your text book blow by. Rings are fried in it. Oil comes out the dip stick because excessive crank case pressure under higher RPMS caused by combustion gasses getting past the rings. That piston looks like detonation occurred.
U rock I have 87 ski centurion my have to do same thing how do u align mtr n Trans note have to replace anchor to hold motor n n Trans mounts good show
The secret is do everything you can to not mess with the original engine mounts and trans mounts. Fortunately, the new engine had the exact same mounting locations on the block for the engine mounts as the original Engine. Therefore, when I bolted the engine into the boat, I didn’t have to adjust anything. End of the day there’s only four engine mount and transmission mount screws to adjust. A little bit of give here and there isn’t too hard to get things lined up.
Not a whole lot. Likely convert the engine to a carburetor intake or leave it fuel injected and get an ECU. New engine mounts and a adapter for your transmission. LS engines are in boats everywhere from the factory.
i have a 2000 Larson 206 that has a 5.0 with blown head gaskets. I'm not sure if it makes sense but any chance you would sell the long block for me to rebuild and put in my boat? If I'm going to go through all the effort on my boat it would be nice to end up with a 350 in it instead of a 305. Shipping might make it not worth it either though considering I'm in the midwest. Just a thought lmk

Yes it was. New engine is here and that’s the next video to come!
Great crew you got there
a nice little LSA would push it along :P
I’ve got a 2002 23 LSV with an LS1 in it. This will be a cool project to see!

Hey of course! Thanks for watching. The new Engine will be going back in soon.

Right you are! It’s unfortunate but the new engine should be very nice. I went with a standard built 350 Chevy about 350Hp.

Any updates on the project 👍
Yes working on it now!
20:45 350 herspers??!!! 😲😲😲😲😲
guess he wasn't kidding when he said 'makin motor moves'
Love the video but covering up the company logo does nothing if you don’t cover the one on the building
Just clearing out the phone number. Glad you enjoyed it!
What do you need to install an LS engine on a boat????
Not a whole lot. Likely convert the engine to a carburetor intake or leave it fuel injected and get an ECU. New engine mounts and a adapter for your transmission. LS engines are in boats everywhere from the factory.
@@BoatRestorationByBen what power do you think it will make?
@@coopertoprw8mu 350HP 350lbft torque. That’s what I built it to be at least. It’ll live between 3000 and 4000 rpm max.
@@BoatRestorationByBen nice I’ve heard the transmission can’t handle much more than that

Sure thing! I have the motor listed for sale now. You’re welcome to it.
Shoot me a private message. Facebook works.
Why wouldn't you put new piston and fix it if its just one cylinder that broke?
Cheap enough to buy a new motor and not risk the block being compromised.
