I have SO much respect for you Cam, I love that you don't take sponsorships if you don't trust them/your audience wouldn't use it - even if you really needed the money.
Betterhelp charge money though. they have some free programs sometimes, but there is a cost per month, so maybe theres something there, but it is a service that provides therapy, and there is a clear income stream, so on the surface its cleaner
Agreed, the issue with BH isn't directly the money, rather it is the level of qualification needed to be on there as a therapist. You can have the lowest certificate yet still charge the same as somebody expensive, use deception to make your profile look good and then that service user has essentially lost money, time and faith in the site
I love you Cam, I really appreciate a RUclipsr who actually looks into the sponsors instead of just taking the money and not caring about the watchers. Keep being authentic to yourself because you’re awesome!
Just finished the video and I have SO much respect for creators who actively turn down sponsors who they don't trust or don't know enough about, or even if they just can't see their audience using the product/service. I understand that a lot of smaller creators rely on the sponsorships for their income but still definitely do the research before agreeing - honey is the perfect example of why you should never say yes straight away.
I remember Honey being like the biggest brand to sponsor youtubers, and I never thought of it as legitimate. To me it's like that website "Established titles" or whatever it's called.
The fact is honey probably has it in their TOS that they can do this and the money they are paying content creators is an upfront payment for the affiliate link earnings you are projected.
But Honey remove the affiliate link from any and every affiliate referral after a user installed it - so say Mr Beast got paid to promote them and you watched a sponsorship for Honey then downloaded the browser extension. Then months later you click an affiliate link from someone who's never even heard of Honey (could be a link from another youtuber, a blog post, a charity etc), at checkout Honey pops up to say "couldn't find any codes" and you click okay to close the pop up, and then Honey steal their commission too. And this person with the affiliate link had no contract with Honey, agreed to no TOS with them, and didn't get any money from them. This is who the lawsuit covers - the lawsuit is filed initially for a creator who's never had a contract with Honey but it's likely Honey have taken affiliate commissions off of.
i wouldnt use it again, what’s the point? From a consumer standpoint, if it’s not showing me every single discount available, I can’t act rationally since there’s a level of asymmetrical information. They know more than I do, so therefore I can’t spend the amount of money that would suit me more. Furthermore, there’s the ethical issue of stealing commission from creators, that would push me away as a consumer that likes to consider ethics in most of their purchases.
It’s weird how my reaction to sponsors is either ‘Ughh’ or ‘Skip ahead to the video essay on a hyper fixation I never knew I had’. Also, it’s not hard to do a quick Google search on some very shady sponsors.
i wish youtubers actually cared on what sponsors they take cause im still seeing betterhelp being promoted a lot despite it being proven to be untrustworthy. I think in this regard the channel creator should be held responsible as well
10:25 I was in the entertainment business for 30 years in the UK, it is just the same, whether on TV, Here, Radio, on the Net etc and always will be, cliques, elites, liars and cheats. I am happy to be out of it now, living on my boat in Yorkshire 🙂
As a customer, I had stopped using Honey a while ago because I didn't find the service satisfactory. What I hate is that just by dismissing the "you have the best deal" or "we don't have coupons with this store yet" notifications I was unwittingly still allowing them to remove a person's affiliate link.
I would say about the ltt section. Given honey payed them upfront they would probably sue ltt for breaking the contract. It could be possible that as part of an early termination deal they said they wouldn’t talk about it, sort of like a soft nda
Amazingphil was sponsored by honey for a while, now I think what's important to remember as well and that honey are smart with is that they know that people are so easily influenced by creators and will generally do what they suggest. I'm autistic and amazingphil is my special interest so I'm very easily influenced by him and i used honey for ages cause Phil was sponsored by them, not only were they scamming him but they were scamming everyone who was influenced to use it because their favourite creator innocently promoted it. I feel bad for creators who have been completely innocent in this all.
This case is gonna be really interesting to see, and honestly, cam I have mad respect for you for standing up with what you want when it comes to brand deals cause I 100% agree there are youtubers who will do any brand deal to get the money but if the brand is shady and they still choose to be with that brand I tend to not trust them as much so I'm glad you brought it up in the video keep being you cam and have a good day
Feel like this is the online version of malls and shopping centers did with their shops. You pay rent but also the company that owns the shopping centre take commission of charge for area of the shop and will extort certain store types with threats of housing their competitors
I don’t trust most advertisers on RUclips. If I find something I would like I do research on it first. Most of the time I find out it’s a scam. Although, I did end up getting Prose hair products. I don’t like the shampoo but I love the leave in conditioner. 😂
Don't subscribe to many You Tube channels but recently watched a lot of your videos and really enjoyed them. You seem like one of the most genuine people online who actually has morals and isn't just out for a quick buck. Keep the videos coming.❤
I used to use honey….in the beginning they did save a lot of money but then it just stopped saving anything…I guess that’s when companies started working with them to stop using the best coupons.
Awesome, I love your attitude to brand deals, respect for your audience. And respect to you for taking that line, I'm sure it'll pay off in the long run.
So many brands are turning out to be awful now, hello fresh has had some awful things come out too so it’s nice to see a creator care about what they advertise and not just be all about the money.
Can’t explain how your videos cheer up my day. Even this as a more serious topic, your passion and general kind nature are always present. Watching such a genuine, compassionate and empathetic man, gives me more faith in humanity. Also you are bloody hilarious, so thank you from an old woman whom appreciates your hard work.
Always had a bad feeling about Honey. I thought the worst of it was just that it was actually fairly useless, but finding out everything that's come out about it, it's way worse than I thought
Better Help, Scentbird, Honey - I feel like if I watch any youtube video older than a year, I see promos for things we now know are shady. It seems like the majority of sponsors. Ground News might be okay. I can't really think how that would be a scam, unless their founder ends up being a "German WW2 enthusiast" like with Scentbird. I'm imagining this year every single RUclipsr will do promos for Ground News, just because they're the last sponsor standing.
I implore to everyone from now on to do some research on the ''sponsors'' that offer to your channel and audience because ive seen a few of these sponsors turn out to be troublesome. Betterhelp, Established Titles, Honey and theres probably more im not thinking of right now. Dont blindly take them New Rockstars still take the betterhelp sponsor despite it being proven to be untrustworthy
I've tried to use honey a couple of times and every time they couldn't find any money off coupons, so I just thought it was a con, to be honest and never used it again
I’ve never liked the idea. The point of discount codes is to tell a business which forms of advertising are most effective. Giving people random codes undermines that
I KNEW I distrusted Honey for a reason. I was so suspicious for exactly the reason mentioned... where does the money come from? It was def too good to be true.
My guess for why it took so long to expose Honey is LTT may have had to sign an NDA to end his contract early. I could be way off, but that makes the most sense to me. The NDA probably expired recently.
This video showcases how down to earth, genuine and kind-hearted Cam is, especially for the recent brand termination, my respect for you has grown mate
I've gotten ads for Honey on RUclips and thought it sounded a little too his to be true. Then another RUclipsr recently did a brand ad and the comment section was full of people saying it wasn't a good brand to work with. This has been a fun way to find out what's going on there
This is SO sad to me. I am a huge supporter of brand deals. Especially to channels like this, that truly feels like the creator really cares. The way I view it, not only does it benefit the creator financially, it also benefits is a well as we can get more/ better content. So when a diabolical company comes in and steals money, disgusts me. Approaching a creator giving them the impression they are really helping their audience, while giving them a few dollars as well, would feel like a wonderful thing. Then to take that and screw them over is just diabolical!!!!
I watched a couple of videos and I immediately uninstalled it after years of use, it's completely unethical and we literally need to put out money where our mouth is in this situation.
i downloaded Honey back in the Shane Dawson days and I saw some codes here and there but over the years the codes had terrible discounts or no discount codes on websites at all. So i stopped using it cause I felt like it was just a scam, so not that surprised now at all haah. Anyways good video like always, you're not boring us! ;)
It’s crazy it’s like one cent per got exposed for the lady saying that Ww2 mass genocide was equivalent to a video game character and her tights on miscarriages and all that
I love the markiplier rant cause I remember seeing it at the time and thinking "damn he sounds like a conspiracy theorist" and then found out about the scam being real because it was being reposted 😅😅 ill never doubt marks gut feeling again
Hopefully this was interesting for you haha I’m genuinely fascinated how a company has managed to pull this off.. it’s genuinely wild.
@@camkirkhambabyy it was very interesting cam thanks for taking time out for your days for the donuts much appreciated ♥️
Yeah they could probably make a good company with there skill
Cam could you react to our stories British Royal Navy school series? Hope you had a good Christmas and new year!
I knew when I saw legal eagle take action this was going to pop off. Whole situation is mental
I have SO much respect for you Cam, I love that you don't take sponsorships if you don't trust them/your audience wouldn't use it - even if you really needed the money.
Bees: the honey situation is insane
It's only a matter of time before there's a sting
I feel the same distrust with Betterhelp
Betterhelp charge money though. they have some free programs sometimes, but there is a cost per month, so maybe theres something there, but it is a service that provides therapy, and there is a clear income stream, so on the surface its cleaner
Yes I totally agree with you. this needs more covered too, especially as it is mental health related and exploits vulnerable people.
Yes! They don’t want to help they want money
Agreed, the issue with BH isn't directly the money, rather it is the level of qualification needed to be on there as a therapist. You can have the lowest certificate yet still charge the same as somebody expensive, use deception to make your profile look good and then that service user has essentially lost money, time and faith in the site
It is so expensive but it was the cheapest option for me at the time. Helped a lot but my first therapist ghosted me
Been waiting for you to cover this! You have a way of being fun, unbiased yet very informative. Love it!
This means the world! Exactly the vibe i'm after haha
Cam, Your integrity makes me such a huge fan of yours. Let's fight back, stick it to 'em. We are the people, united we stand!
hes a good egg so refreshing
Love this comment, call them out for their shenanigans
"If you've been living under a rock, or just employed," is so real🤣
Hate to be that person but: MuMMmMm Im famousssss
Me on my break watching this lmaooo🤧
I love you Cam, I really appreciate a RUclipsr who actually looks into the sponsors instead of just taking the money and not caring about the watchers. Keep being authentic to yourself because you’re awesome!

2025 is the YEAR for cam and i just know it
so glad you covered this!! ive only been seeing hour long vids about this and i prefer shorter vids, and yours is perfect! much love from mauritius
I remember Honey being like the biggest brand to sponsor youtubers, and I never thought of it as legitimate. To me it's like that website "Established titles" or whatever it's called.
It's like the whole Established Titles scam.making everyone Lords and Ladies. Good on you Cam!
Nothing like a cam video after school
Nothing like a cam scam video 😂
@ 😂
frfr 😂
Agreed,def after a friday
I don't miss school, but I do miss the joy of coming home from a long day to watch your fave youtuber
The fact is honey probably has it in their TOS that they can do this and the money they are paying content creators is an upfront payment for the affiliate link earnings you are projected.
Yeah if it’s owned by PayPal it’ll all be in the TOS. They just bet they aren’t read properly
But Honey remove the affiliate link from any and every affiliate referral after a user installed it - so say Mr Beast got paid to promote them and you watched a sponsorship for Honey then downloaded the browser extension. Then months later you click an affiliate link from someone who's never even heard of Honey (could be a link from another youtuber, a blog post, a charity etc), at checkout Honey pops up to say "couldn't find any codes" and you click okay to close the pop up, and then Honey steal their commission too. new year, same cam updating us on situations we didn’t know about
I remember when that scotland plant trees get a royal title thing was a scam and many sponsored them too think it was establish titles
i wouldnt use it again, what’s the point? From a consumer standpoint, if it’s not showing me every single discount available, I can’t act rationally since there’s a level of asymmetrical information. @ Some people haven’t finished their BetterHelp contract so they promote, I guess. I just hope they don’t renew it.
What about better help? Or that thing that claimed to give you a lordship?
so glad you posted this - i was waiting to see if you'd talk about it!
You have been brought up so well...Kudos to your family. Keep going mister...you're gonna make it!!!
Cam genuinely has the purest heart ily
It does show that you can't even trust trustpilot
0:12 Caught me there bukaroo!😅
Its sad to see, Wendigoon and others may still be under contact so they can't do anything about it right now just like with that health thing
honestly had no idea thankyou Cam!🙏🙏🙏
10:25 I was in the entertainment business for 30 years in the UK, it is just the same, whether on TV, Here, Radio, on the Net etc and always will be, cliques, elites, liars and cheats.

At this point I learned to accept, most youtube sponsors are scams
Never used honey when i was like 10 i told my parents about it 6 years later im glad they said its a scam
If something sounds to good to be true it probably is
ITS GONNA BE YOUR YEAR THIS YEAR CAM ❤
I would say about the ltt section. Given honey payed them upfront they would probably sue ltt for breaking the contract. It could be possible that as part of an early termination deal they said they wouldn’t talk about it, sort of like a soft nda

I always didn’t trust honey and knew it was shady and so glad I trusted my instincts
I have never used honey because I never trusted it. Happy to know my gut was right.
Feel like this is the online version of malls and shopping centers did with their shops. You pay rent but also the company that owns the shopping centre take commission of charge for area of the shop and will extort certain store types with threats of housing their competitors

Honey also killed all of the user-input coupon websites.
Don't subscribe to many You Tube channels but recently watched a lot of your videos and really enjoyed them. You seem like one of the most genuine people online who actually has morals and isn't just out for a quick buck. Keep the videos coming.❤
I only use coupons when the company gives me one or when microsoft does it through edge
2:30 you’re very good at explaining things!
I used to use honey….in the beginning they did save a lot of money but then it just stopped saving anything…I guess that’s when companies started working with them to stop using the best coupons.
18:30 I haven't used Honey and I don't remember using anything like it, I am one who distrusts 'free' things too.
Your parents should be so proud of you. Having morals and not putting money on top of your priorities is amazing. ❤
14:21 He’s like me. Follow your gut.
Love when you do this type of video, here for it Cam keep them up xx
Thank you !!
I downloaded honey a few years ago and still haven’t saved a single penny
Awesome, I love your attitude to brand deals, respect for your audience. And respect to you for taking that line, I'm sure it'll pay off in the long run.
Honey never gave me a discount so I uninstalled!
Acc such hats off to cam for cutting ties with that company and keeping correct morals ❤
You're a good man Cam... Good morals are so rare with content creators 👏👏👏👏
I’ve been waiting for this one!! i kept hearing abt it but had no clue what was going on. thank u cam!💞
So many brands are turning out to be awful now, hello fresh has had some awful things come out too so it’s nice to see a creator care about what they advertise and not just be all about the money.
i’m sure markiplier said something about honey being a scam when it first came out but i’m not sure
Yeah... He said he doesn't trust it.
HAPPY NEW YEAR ! ive actually not heard about this so thank you for being my updater !
honestly cam 16:31 was really sweet, shows how much you really care
Cam, make a movie reaction channel, and my life is yours!
Lesson: if something seems too good to be true, it probably is

I KNEW I distrusted Honey for a reason. I was so suspicious for exactly the reason mentioned... where does the money come from? It was def too good to be true.
I’m waiting for the VPN scams…😂
People who seem crazy are often just a few steps ahead!
Honey have saved me loads of money from some of my regular online stores. It’s sad they are abusing the sellers, but as a buyer I can’t fault.
Tbh ive always had a weird feeling abt honey like it sounded to true to be real
When I hear about any drama I don’t look at it I wait for can to post about it 😂
Just made a beautiful English dinner and now I’ve got a kirkam video to watch as well living life
I've gotten ads for Honey on RUclips and thought it sounded a little too his to be true. Then another RUclipsr recently did a brand ad and the comment section was full of people saying it wasn't a good brand to work with. This has been a fun way to find out what's going on there
so many youtube sponsorships are scams or ethically bad and it’s so annoying seeing creators use them 😭😭 didn’t even know this about honey though
"I don't know how they sleep with themselves" sorry but this made me laugh 😂
Cam, the last few videos have been absolutely fire 🔥 keep up the great work

I've never used Honey, but I am so impressed by your integrity Cam ... You are truly a gem ❤
because it mainly works on minimal wage law so no one actually over gets rather than over pays
I watched a couple of videos and I immediately uninstalled it after years of use, it's completely unethical and we literally need to put out money where our mouth is in this situation.
Ive had Honey for about 10 years but I don't think I've ever had a discount lol.
Glad to see you covering this! Also nice to know one of my fave RUclipsrs has incredibly strong morals 😊
I loved this video Cam!! I had no idea about the honey scam until I just watched this! More videos like this please! ☺️
Cam this year is gonna be yours love ur vids sooooooo much ❤️❤️🤩🤩
I didn't see you mentioning legal eagle but so happy to see that
i downloaded Honey back in the Shane Dawson days and I saw some codes here and there but over the years the codes had terrible discounts or no discount codes on websites at all. So i stopped using it cause I felt like it was just a scam, so not that surprised now at all haah. Anyways good video like always, you're not boring us! ;)
I really respect you sticking to your morals Cam. Not enough people do. ❤️💪
It’s crazy it’s like one cent per got exposed for the lady saying that Ww2 mass genocide was equivalent to a video game character and her tights on miscarriages and all that
This whole thing is crazy. So many people have recommended it without sponsorship, and its likely cost them to do so
It feels like all the big youtubers back in the day used to promote this! I knew something was up!
I love the markiplier rant cause I remember seeing it at the time and thinking "damn he sounds like a conspiracy theorist" and then found out about the scam being real because it was being reposted 😅😅 ill never doubt marks gut feeling again
Yesssss Cam, happy Friday!!!
I installed Honey once and it had links to companies that I don't use I soon unstalled it
Thanks for brightening my day with your videos cam! Hope you have a great year ❤️
