As somebody who cares 24/7 and does literally everything for my disabled grandad, these people who say social media/YT/Streaming is harder than regular work really get my goat - especially when 90% of them come from a wealthy/well-off background where if they didn't fancy working, their parents could and would pay for their rent and lifestyles with ease. I've worked in retail/customer service, medical cleaning and both commercial/senior living dining and if I could sit behind a screen for 12 hours a day chatting shit, I would do that instead. The most irritating thing about people like this to me is that they went out of their way to CHOOSE the jobs they do whereas the vast majority of regular working class people have little to no choice what jobs they do because we have bills to pay with no cushion to land on if we don't take whatever work's offered to us. I find it very hard to get offended but the fact there are people that are so out of touch with what is the norm for most people bugs the shit out of me.
The fact they've probably had a team meeting about him too like 'hey guys just so you know, Ollie is going to come in and pretend to work here for the day so please be kind' or something like that. I genuinely hate people like this that make fun of minimum wage workers. I bleed myself dry trying to earn some form of a good wage and then you get these people who make a lot of money, to mock these people who work so hard to eat, drink and have a roof over their heads, is just an absolute kick
I feel sorry for the McDonalds employees having to put up with that moron, they have to deal with awful people all day long and then had to endure this idiot behind the counter.
I used to be a crew trainer at a McDonald's and honestly I could never train this guy up and be professional about it. Bro cannot even apply a hair net correctly 💀😭
The streamer saying a normal job doesn’t suck the soul out of you. Wonder what an NHS junior doctor working their 4th night shift in a row would say 😂😂
I used to work in a restaurant for £5 an hour and to buy a pint there was over £5. I had to work 2 hours just to buy a pint at the place I worked at & someone is saying they only got 4k for 1 minutes worth of work (+ planning - I'd need to see the video to work out how much went into it) and complaining that isn't enough is WILD. I think a minimum wage customer service jobs should be mandatory for everyone so they can learn from the experience.
I live in America in the middle of literal nowhere. I applied to EVERYTHING for my first job in the area and McDonald's was the only place that would hire me. To this day, even after working in a literal emergency room, McDonald's was the worst place I ever worked at. Lasted 8 months even after the person who trained me called me an idiot
No this is actually making me raging. I work my arse off and things are a struggle health wise. Nah I cannot be doing with this crap. I actually got slagged off for using a cane with my knee injury from a so called friend and I am getting checked for arthritis. Of course I am bloody knackered after 15k steps (Social care). I am not that bloody narcissistic that I could be a so called influencer? Meh! took me 4 hours on my day off to clean the kitchen, it was a state though to be fair. "Cleaning on Crutches with Louie" It does have a ring to it...Ooft! (rant complainy etc.)
When I’ve worked in food companies they tend to promote and train staff to wash their hands frequently rather than wearing gloves. Gloves can cause more cross-contamination if they’re not changed regularly. Also gloves can pose a risk if you’re working with ovens or hot plates.
McDonald’s in the UK you have to wash your hands as part of the clocking in process (there’s a sink next to the clocking in machine), and then every 30 minutes a timer goes off as a minimum during your shift, although I’ve heard some stores have a 1 hour timer, or a 15 minute timer instead. At my McDonald’s we also had to mop the food prep/till area floors once every 90 minutes.
At maccies in the UK you don't wear gloves as it like carries more bacteria on the gloves unless you're changing them constantly which is crazy wasteful so they get you to wash your hands every half hour
"A real job doesn't suck the soul out of you" - I recommend doing customer service for health services. Try 8h a day of people calling and crying about their dying relatives, special needs kids, and their own declining health.
I work as a dog walker and trainer and am out pretty much 7 days a week from 8.30am-6.30pm, i also have 3 Kids and a Grandaughter, my youngest Son is autistic so needs extra help/education (i homeschooled him from 10yrs old), i also look after my Grandaughter and come home to do tea and housework, some people are so out of touch!, i’m 51 after Christmas and have done this for years!!
I guarantee that non of these people would wanna come and work in a carehome For 7-14hrs a day like myself. That being said there was a time where I was making a little bit of money through socials and I got really bored of it, I just felt like I was rotting away sitting at home (during lockdown).
I am consistently amazed out at how not out of touch Cam is. He's much younger than me but so sensible and has a good view on everything. He's about the only person his age that I could happily have a conversation with.
You can tell which influencers come from humble beginnings. RUclipsrs like Cam who seem to understand struggle are so much funnier because everything they say is more endearing. People who are entrenched in their fame and richness just have a disconnect from viewers, even if they cant really control it.
13:08 Right after this, he says, "No no no, social battery wise, unless you're in retail." He was talking about how he's often too socially drained after streaming to be social at parties, in a way his friends with 'real jobs' aren't. This guy gets clipped out of context a lot.
I mean, he only clarified the wording, and that's because he immediately caught heat for a dogshit out-of-touch take (not something Hasan is known for /s) and was trying to wriggle his way out of it - regardless of what his explanation was, he was objectively wrong (and still is, considering he didn't actually change his opinion, merely the wording), least of all for the fact that retail is _far_ from the only job industry that drains social battery (his implication in itself doesn't account for the fact that everyone has a different individual social battery). Obviously streaming for hours on end and dealing with asinine comments from amoeba-level IQs in your chat is going to have its own kind of stress - anyone who thinks otherwise is fucking stupid - but Hasan fucked up the moment he tried to compare it to real jobs.
@dancostello4872 Yeah, that's fair, I just wanted to give people more context. He definitely generalised too much and the comparison was unnecessary to begin with but the shorter clip makes it sound a lot worse.
I worked at McDonald's during uni. Sometimes the restaurant owner would come in and it was a double whammy annoyance. Everyone was on display, so managers were extra particular about procedures. Fine. But most annoying was that the owners/ head office would just constantly be in the way. And you'd think that even tho many likely haven't ever worked fast food, that they'd see enough store operation to be slightly out of the way. They were always apologetic and would try to move, but it was obvious that they just had no idea and couldn't predict basic issues like being directly in front of the bin for too long. Anyway, I imagine this is equally if not more of a pain in the arse. It's already crowded and hot out back, too many bodies, and then there's this guy and probably a couple camera crew with him. It's already tough to train an ACTUAL employee on the job and being busy. Let alone this extra posse that goes everywhere.
Don't worry Cam, I've also been rejected from McDonalds when I was 17. I also didn't get a job at Wilkinson's because I said I aspired to be like Freddie Mercury, same year as McDonald's too. Now I've got my own window cleaning business, funny how life works out.
I worked in catering for like a week before quitting (it was an absolute mess) and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, my mum said she knew I was going to quit before I told her bc there was light in my eyes again 😭
I work 12 hours on a mental health ward, my "breaks" are spent on ward (not allowed to leave or go to the staff room) interacting with patients and doing tasks. My lunch and dinner are spent with the patients looking out for trouble and taking over other staff members jobs so they can eat as well. Thats 12 hours in an often violent and fast paced environment in which I am not allowed to leave. I'm explaining this because I just want to say - influencers are SO right!! I could NOT make a tiktok video all day! Think of the stress!
This just shows how little common sense this guy has 😂 I was making my own supper when I was like 12 😂 but to this clear mummy’s boy or daddy’s boy had it all handed to him growing up he’s acting as though the everything is totally alien to him I mean the burger press is basiacally a George Forman 😂😂😂😂
Literally working a 10hr shift with children will suck the soul out of you because we have to get to the nursery before 7:30am to set up the rooms and then all of the children will start showing up at 7:30am and then we don’t have some children that doesn’t get picked up until dead on 6pm so us staff doesn’t leave the nursery until 6:20pm or even 6:30pm and once all the children are gone we have to rest the rooms make sure the bins are empty make sure we sterilise the potties literally so when we actually leave the nursery we are all tired
My dad is 65, gets up at 7, drives my mum to work, goes to work at a tip where he does everyone elses work as well as his, gets back at 5, picks my mum up, cooks dinner, and then has about 2 hours spare time to do what he wants, cant imagine beyonce soing any of that lol
I tried applying for McDonald's 3 times just this term and they didn't get back to me on any of them. It really put me off applying for a job because it was so tedious every single time
those influencers actually annoy me, because i was a pot washer recently, and i was constantly thrown verbal abuse by the staff and waitresses one example is that, one shift, i was working a 1-5 in the back, with the ovens, dishwasher so it was warm, i asked one of the waiters to get me a drink (which in entitled to 2 drinks per shift) i got my drink an hour and a half later, another incident is that i just got broken up with a day before my shift 5-close (10 or 11) and there was a funeral party of over 30 people and i was fairly new to my job so i wasn't as the past pot washer, the chefs were messing around, making a mess with the plate i had to clean, and telling me lazy, incompetent and to smile more, at 11pm i finished my shift and had to walk home alone in the dark (near a dodgy part of my village) i was in a lot of pain (back and feet were in agony) i called in sick the next day and got fired, because i was again lazy and incompetent.
Should we make this a series?

I find it very hard to get offended but the fact there are people that are so out of touch with what is the norm for most people bugs the shit out of me.
The workers must be double pissed as they aren't even allowed to have their phones on them, let alone use them.
You know it’s a good day when cam posts 🔥🔥🔥
I used to be a crew trainer at a McDonald's and honestly I could never train this guy up and be professional about it. Bro cannot even apply a hair net correctly 💀😭
Cam I'm not seeing enough movement 😂😂
I’m loving the everyday uploads 😢
Merry Christmas to me
Jokes on you Cam lad...im watching you whilst at work
Love your videos

I live in America in the middle of literal nowhere. I applied to EVERYTHING for my first job in the area and McDonald's was the only place that would hire me. To this day, even after working in a literal emergency room, McDonald's was the worst place I ever worked at. Lasted 8 months even after the person who trained me called me an idiot
Everyone say thank you Cam for blessing us with another upload and being a consistent king🙌🏻
(rant complainy etc.)
cam feeding us with bangers once again🙏🙏
4:30 I can already hear the people screaming "WHERE THE FUCK AT THE GLOVES!!! Use gloves, I don't want a fry boy touching my burger!".
yayy i’ve just seen you included my molly mae suggestion!!
I’m awake at 4am cause ya girl got hungry and I come back after eating to a Cam Kirkham video🎉 how can I go back to sleep now without watching😅❤
Me to but I got that 4 am motivation
You wake up to eat?
@ yea man I was hella hungry
I’m actually having a jam doughnut while watching cam
I am so distracted by the McDonald's guy not wearing gloves, while preparing the food . I hope he washed his hands. 😒
My same reaction..
At maccies in the UK you don't wear gloves as it like carries more bacteria on the gloves unless you're changing them constantly which is crazy wasteful so they get you to wash your hands every half hour
@@JD-ny9qj when I worked there everybody had to mop before every break
I always remember Alfie’s “I’m not a Tory” apology video
I guarantee that non of these people would wanna come and work in a carehome For 7-14hrs a day like myself. That being said there was a time where I was making a little bit of money through socials and I got really bored of it, I just felt like I was rotting away sitting at home (during lockdown).
I am consistently amazed out at how not out of touch Cam is. He's much younger than me but so sensible and has a good view on everything. He's about the only person his age that I could happily have a conversation with.
At 3:50 why does it look like his mdma had just kicked in 🤣💀
You can tell which influencers come from humble beginnings. RUclipsrs like Cam who seem to understand struggle are so much funnier because everything they say is more endearing. People who are entrenched in their fame and richness just have a disconnect from viewers, even if they cant really control it.
Hello cam. I really love your videos they bring me joy and thank you so much for liking my comment on that chippy vid. It made my week ❤
I'm a new subscriber. Loving your videos! As an American- you rating the lunch deals is hilarious & interesting 😄. I'm binging right now 😂🎉
I wasn't feeling too well today and this video is making me feel better thanks cam ❤
I feel so bad for the podcast guy, he only made 4000 pounds for an hours work, we should all feel bad for him guys!!
13:08 Right after this, he says, "No no no, social battery wise, unless you're in retail."
He was talking about how he's often too socially drained after streaming to be social at parties, in a way his friends with 'real jobs' aren't.
Oli white working at McDonald’s -absolute classic
i worked at McDonalds for 6 years and it can be bloody hard work! people underestimate it
Watching your video with a bowl of oats and honey (I do not mean porridge of flapjacks.) Is amazing!
Alfie has like two adorable daughters. He’s grown up and I like this dad version of him
Starting my 21st w a cam Kirkham video and there’s no better way I can imagine starting it 🤩
Many Happy Returns!
For a sec i thought you was talking about Cam!!! Till you got to the burger bit!
CAMM POSTED YAYYYY
Thanks for making my lunch break enjoyable 💚
I worked at McDonald's for 3 and a half years id be like wtf if he came in it's not always an easy job
It really put me off applying for a job because it was so tedious every single time
Cam please have a look at Jeremy Fragrance and his dating applications!!! It’s a whole situation and we have to know what you think. 😄
Will take a look!
Cam love the daily content
those influencers actually annoy me, because i was a pot washer recently, and i was constantly thrown verbal abuse by the staff and waitresses one example is that, one shift, i was working a 1-5 in the back, with the ovens, dishwasher so it was warm, i asked one of the waiters to get me a drink (which in entitled to 2 drinks per shift) i got my drink an hour and a half later, another incident is that i just got broken up with a day before my shift 5-close (10 or 11) and there was a funeral party of over 30 people and i was fairly new to my job so i wasn't as the past pot washer, the chefs were messing around, making a mess with the plate i had to clean, and telling me lazy, incompetent and to smile more, at 11pm i finished my shift and had to walk home alone in the dark (near a dodgy part of my village) i was in a lot of pain (back and feet were in agony) i called in sick the next day and got fired, because i was again lazy and incompetent.
Wow
hasan piker is left-wing political commentator. His streams typically consist of political and social commentary, gaming, and media consumption
1:40 can we just appreciate the side eye from the pause screen
Love the shout out to Ryan Trahan, you and him are my top youtubers
I worked in McDonald's.... for a day. The manager told me I had to be clean shaved for my second day 😂
I’m currently at my toxic work environment while watching this video 😂😂😂
The dillusion is so embarrassing!!!😬
That Alfie video is so out of touch is feels like a parody
Great vid as always
I work in a call centre. It absolutely does suck out my soul 😂
Love your videos ❤
I don’t know if there is even a possibility of a universe where olis McDonald’s video is taken positively 😂
