  • If AC only works on high, your fan resistor is damaged. Check fuses first, then under your glove compartment you will find a black cable attached with 2 screws. Remove the screws and take out the fan resistor and replace with a new one form your local dealer. Thats it, thanks for watching.

Thank you. Just noticed this issue now and I’m glad I don’t have to tear apart the whole dash!

How do you get the electric clip plug out; that might make it easier to see and/or angle the screwdriver to get the rear screw out?

I managed to remove the rear right-hand screw and remove the resistor. What a PITA!!!! i had to use a small screwdriver and a pair a pliers to turn the screwdriver. I have not rescrewed the screws in, but the AC now operates at all speeds again.

How do you get to the screws that hold the resistor. I can't even see them.

Pulled the carpet down a bit You should be able to see it. You need to lay on your back looking up.

What a joke. Ok, this is so easy I won't show you how to do it wtf? Impossible to put a screwdriver on the screw, even for Gumby. Update. I was able to remove the resistor by first busting off the plastic protector piece in front and pulling down the carpeting making it easier to put a stubby screwdriver on the back screw. I pulled gradually harder and harder with both hands on the 2"x2" piece and it busted out fairly easily and is a perfectly straight break. Bust it off maybe score the plastic first but once this is done, the 2 screws are more accessible. The one in front is easy as you will see and the one in back WILL COME OUT if you use a stubby screwdriver. The guy using a medium phillips is full of it, no way that fits on front or back. Oh, and the wire connector will pop right out if you push down on the tab with a screwdriver. Give it a decent amount of pressure, and POP out it comes!

I managed to get the front screw out, but cannot get the rear screw out; I cannot see it and the angle makes it difficult to get a screwdriver into the rear part because you end up hitting the floorboard and the firewall and just can't see what I'm doing at all.

I did get one screw out, but not sure which one......I thought it was the one on the right, but when I try to feel the one on the left with my finger, it doesn't feel like there is a screw there. Why did they make it so damned difficult, unlike the one with the automatic temp control resistor.

Some say this is easy. Bullshit. Biggest pain in the ass. That's why you don't see it actually being done in this video.

I am unable to see the screws. it might be easier to guess the location when uninstalling in the screws, but putting the screws back in would be even harder. Is it easy to take off that top black cover thing so you can see better?

I really don't see how you were able to use that long of a screwdriver to get the rear screw out.
