Spent a week in Guangzhou before Covid hit and I was gobsmacked seeing what China was really like for the first time. When I handed cash to the taxi driver, he apologized as he fished around for change because he hadn't received his fare in cash in a long time. There were 24-hour convenience stores that were completely automated and unmanned, we were shocked as it meant it was safe enough to run this kind of business model without being looted all the time. We were off the typical tourist trails in the city and we didn't see beggars or homeless folks. Friends drove us several hours to Conghua and the highways were amazing. When we landed I really didn't know what to expect but by the time we left I was impressed. That was in 2017, I can't imagine what things are like now. We'll be going again to Zhejiang next month before relocating there for work in April. Pretty excited.

Exactly. If people searched on RUclips, they would’ve known about China long ago. The good along with the bad. It’s still there. Now all they’re eating up is the Instagram version, Chinese style.
FYI, there is no free universal healthcare, neither is there any welfare system in China. Do some due diligence. There are many suffering because of this. Many of these Red Noters are from well off families, who are in the party. They have free health care. Just seeing their apartments and how well they speak English is telling. The average Chinese still do not live like this. Even they would aspire to this lifestyle.

Many immigrants, including refugees, can access better healthcare, education, and social services, allowing them to rebuild their lives and achieve financial independence.

When I had my last C-section i barely got any help from nurses, my baby was crying and i called for the nurses for help, they didn't respond to the alert for almost half an hr, I struggled in pain trying to sit up (literally had surgery in the morning and it was late afternoon) I couldn't even sit up, reach into the plastic bassinet thing my baby was in. I broke down in tears, frustrated and in pain.. It was so horrible i didn't want to have babies again..

Xi is too sensitive and China should have a bit more freedom to say things to criticize. Yes people can get manipulated but that is truly the most honest way to do it. I had many chances to live in China, I chose to stay in Canada because I do like my semi freedom of speech. I want to be able to criticize whoever I want. Shouldn't ban words like Winnie the pooh. If Xi changed the ban, he would be more respected in general. Chinese folks use VPN because too many things are banned. Just do what America does and flood platforms with some good ol propaganda. I defend China a lot against a lot of propaganda, but that's just a fight you can't win. They put in billions just for more propaganda. Why are Chinese people so enthusiastic about people from all over the world coming to rednote? The video introduces one aspect, and there is another aspect that is not mentioned. You can see from rednote's videos that the life of ordinary people in China is very convenient, with cheap prices, low medical and education costs, and convenient infrastructure. So those analyses that say 90% of Chinese people are satisfied with the CPC are not lies, but many people also know that the mainstream media in the Western world, such as CNN, BBC and some people who hate China, are slandering China on the Internet, As an ordinary Chinese, we see these false information and try to defend ourselves, but the discourse is controlled by Western politicians led by the United States, so it is useless for us to defend ourselves.and you people in the Western world also believe their propaganda and hate us, so we Chinese also feel very aggrieved. Rednote is indeed a good opportunity for us to truly show the lives of ordinary Chinese people and let those in the world who laugh at and hate China with prejudice see it. This is also the motivation for many people to welcome you and so many video bloggers who introduce their hometowns.

Maybe its time for China to remove the Great Firewall. I don't think ordinary people in the western world hate Chinese people, but rather many westerners have negative feelings toward the CCP specifically, due to things like the Uyghur genocide, military invasion drills around Taiwan, etc. And Chinese people can't really join international discourse most of the time to give their side of the story because most people can't be bothered to VPN to the other side. Sometimes the Western world can be wrong, sometimes the Chinese government can also be wrong. But the firewall keeps us from fully communicating and learning from each other and learning the truth together.

Not all healthcare in New Zealand is free. Last year, I had stomach pain, and my family doctor told me that unless I was experiencing severe stomach bleeding or collapsed, the government wouldn't allow a free gastroscopy. In the end, I had to pay 2,000 NZD for the procedure. Additionally, I had some eye problems and scheduled a surgery, but I had to wait for 8 months for an appointment.
New Zealand is currently facing serious inflation, with prices soaring. Young people can’t afford to buy homes, and a large number of skilled workers are leaving for Australia. This has led to a decline in the quality of healthcare and a shortage of medical staff. Two years ago, I took my girlfriend to Auckland’s central hospital at 1 a.m. for emergency treatment, only to find that the entire hospital, from the emergency department to the inpatient department, had only two doctors on duty. We had to wait for 4 hours before receiving any effective treatment, and the doctor misdiagnosed her, which caused her to lose hearing in her right ear.
Of course, I’m not trying to speak badly about New Zealand. I really like living here, but due to the previous government's series of inactions and the global economic downturn, I can only say that life in New Zealand is unlikely to return to the peaceful and prosperous state it was in the 1990s.

To carry the electric scooter or the battery into the apartment may cause fire issues. But if you’re mentioning the traditional scooter, that’s fine.

Most Chinese women after giving birth are cared for this this. My daughter is a 4th generation ABC born in Los Angeles. She too was cared for at our home for one month. She and her husband temporarily moved in a few weeks before she gave birth and then returned to our home to rest and recuperate. Between my husband, son-in-law, and myself, we took turns to give her what she needed as well as taking care of the baby. This is our tradition... this is what we do. At the end of the 30 days, a huge family gathering was hosted at our home to celebrate and introduce our new addition to the family and to formally give him his Chinese name.

Westerners don't believe that women after giving birth can eat and drink anything they like. Chinese people don't and aren't allowed. It's our Chinese tradition and culture. Westerners say it is not "scientific"! But we believe in Ying and Yang, balance of energy. I saw western women during pregnancy consume alcohol and wear short sleeve shirt and pants.😱My mum was horrified! They even have t-shirt so short that it exposed their navel. Horror! Horror! Horror!

I went to China in 2018, cost of things was not so cheap for me as turist. But, I was amazing to see how everything is modern, advanced. And to walk in the streets at 1 am, in the downtown secure, no problem. kids can walk few blocks to school, where I was, also all the biking parking spots was amazing. But diference people do not still others bikes, like here in USA, roubery is a crime, that cost you your life still. Well, diferent from USA where roubery incrised. Travelling in land is done by trem easily, speed trem, even going to a village. There is problems there, but there is every where. The explanation of post partum, is true, my daugether is ther now and pregnant. She will have 6 months stay home. In China, the child taking care is a social important thing, as well the mother. Here the women is at wall mart a week after having a baby, caring the baby basket, pushing the grocery card, and doing the house work. We do not take the care of ourselves after deliery, bc we have to be super womenm right? And we wonder why Chines women, do not age faster like us. And the health care system, teach us nothing abour it. The point is make us sick faster. China is no place for lazy, slow people, at 10 years old a child have to speel correctly 10.000 words, they study a lot. And saying good job, to any small action is not the moto. I was amazed by the intelectual inteligence of kids under 6, but they also have the inocense. Beautiful, to see, but they still kids and be naughty I am sure. And the Chines, goverment see children development as priority. Usa is a great country, no doult doult, but it is a country that do not do any improviment for the betterment of his population long term, which would be real education from age 3 on. And as China there is many other enimies countries, that we can learn from them, we here are not the best of the word. Last thing, all or enimies countries, improved the people lives, and strutures for the last 40 years. And we still seening them with the same eyes of 40 years ago. Well, when we belive to be the best we can sit and rest, bc motivation is gone. It is what our aurhorities sell to us. And we bite it as a kid.
