I'm already on RN and loving it. China is not what I thought it was, not even close. The more I see the real China, the more I understand why there was such an effort to demonize them. Kind of like the tariffs on Chinese EVs. The more I find out about them, the more I understand why the US government wants to keep them out. They're just too good to compete with

Totally agree. As a Chinese American who live in the US and visit China every year, I know what China is like. China isn’t perfect but it has changed tremendously. People have much better life compared to 20 years ago. Infrastructure is amazing. High speed trains and railway networks are outstanding. The western mainstream media has been distorting China and brainwashing their people.

Imagine the shock to them when they realised that the US government has been lying to them the whole time about China. It is truly an historic moment akin to the fall of the Berlin Wall.

I always hear that TikTok is a Chinese company and owned by Chinese nationals and hence it has been targeted by US lawmakers and the Administration. Yet in its filing, TikTok says it’s a private company which is roughly 60% owned by foreigners, including US hedge funds like Blackrock and General Atlantic, 20% by Bytedance and 20% by its employees, including 7,000 US employees. It has a Board of 5 and 3 are Americans. 100% of its US is routed to Oracle, a US company. Yet why aren’t the stakeholders making their voices heard? I don’t understand why these facts aren’t ventilated more vigorously by TikTok?

Because the US oligarchs and political establishment could not control the content filtering on tiktok. A large impetus for the Tiktok ban, or like what jerry says a general law to wrest control of foreign apps is the Gaza g-cide being shown prominently on tiktok.
All other American social media has controls over Gaza. Only tiktok was allowing people on the ground to post videos unfiltered and it is the most popular app among gen z and millennials.
Without control over the narratives, American will likely unable to keep taking the BS their system of governance and economy is forcing them to take. They need that bread and circus to keep the gravy train going.

Thank you Jerry and Fernando, for another encouraging conversation. Whereas American governance endeavours 'to be the best', Chinese governance endeavours 'to do better'; thus Chinese governance has a distinct philosophical and objective advantage over American governance. Why? Because at the atomic level being the best makes no sense, whereas being better is essential to development. As much as I'd love to, one doesn't need to go to China to learn this. I can settle for Jerry's and Yan's 'Little Chinese Everywhere' channels. 🙏

18:10 Fernando is absolutely right. If the Chinese were actually hostile towards the US, they wouldn't be calling them 美国, it's like calling the school bully who's bullying everyone in the school, including you, a great, beautiful person. Not to mention that the bully itself is your biggest adversary, hindering your growth and development, destabilizing your friendship with other students, and gossiping to those students about things you did not do, which in turn causes these students to turn against you in order to not get bullied by the big bully.

I'm so glad for the TikTok Refugees 😂. I think XHS might consider monetizing it but to do that, XHS needs to find a way around the financial transfer and should also allow Chinese citizens to earn income. I think this is possible via HK. Anyway, it depends on the Chinese govt and also whether the community enlarges. The US govt may remove it from the Apps Store. Let's wait and see.
I understand from a couple of XHS members that political discourse is not allowed.
To understand Chinese in depth, one has to live in China for at least a couple of years. The best part i like about the foreign invasion of XHS is the video posted by a couple of Americans about helping Chinese with English Homework and got the answers wrong 😅.
I knew that there would be some Americans asking about the social credit score to Chinese who never had interaction with foreigners and i was amused at the perplexing reaction. The first time i was asked this question, i had the same reaction too lol...huh..wtf is that lol.
