Thank you for just the beginning of your video. I thought it was the screw on the right-hand side of the balance wheel. Your video confirmed to me that I was correct. Again, thanks for your effort!
Thank you so much for this video! Everywhere I looked I found that version with the screw adjuster (which I think is 340-020A) and the one I have here is the 340-020, with this different adjustment method. Again: thank you so much! Such a simple video with a lot of info! :) All the best to you!
Friend, I, too, recently acquired this version 340-020. My experience was that I could not slow the clock until I moved the adjustment toward the "-" (minus sign) using the perspective of the *FRONT* of the clock. The clock sped up with adjustments using the perspective of moving TOWARD the minus sign from a rearward perspective. My observation on 2 days of using this perspective. (And, I am not beyond getting professional help, in that the range of my adjustments has yet not slowed the mechanism to being correct, even 1 month later.)
I actually saw the second video and realized I have this floating balance model. I saw the -/+ but thought I had to move the screws not the little level on top of the balance. Question if anybody knows: moving the lever to the + sign will make the clock go slower or faster? (as in the previous model moving the screw clockwise makes it go slower, and moving it counterclockwise makes it go faster )Thanks!
@@JRCLOCKER Hi I am turning about a quarter turn per shot to the right where it says + and it is still between 5 and 10 minutes late per day . One point it was 20 but not sure if previous day I had reset the proper time. Will continue. For 5 to 10 minutes how many quarter turns am I supposed to turn ? Thanks for your help!
Thanks for the video, that explains it for me as I also have the one shown. I'm new to this so I'm still learning, I bought a W.L. Gilbert mantle clock dating 1923 in a nice Australian made case it's fully functional but very dirty, I'm going to clean and oil it when the oil I've ordered arrives. This clock appears easy to do because the winding springs are exposed. However the 340-020 movement in my latest Deco revival clock has casings on the springs, I would like to clean it before I oil it but am hesitant because of the cased springs, not being able to dry them. It appears fairly clean but the case is dated 1968, should I just oil it, Thanks, John.
I've been looking for this video! Thank you for posting it. But I still have a problem. I have this same movement in my mantel clock but its all the way turned to the + and it is still slow.
Thanks for this as I have this exact movement and the clock is loosing about 2 minutes in 24 hours. When you move the finger how much time does one dot represent?
Thank you so much! I have been looking for a manual for this clock for a while and always found the newer style way to adjust. Great video!

Very helpful video; exactly what I was looking for so thank you!
Question - move it to the + to slow down the clock and to the - to make it go faster?
thank you for sharing the information!

Почистил промыл а маятник еле еле двигается что как рекулировать вилку?
Thanks for this as I have this exact movement and the clock is loosing about 2 minutes in 24 hours. When you move the finger how much time does one dot represent?
Hi The dots are only to give you a reverence. Move one dot at a time is the best way. I hope this helps, Jim
Also does the clock need to be stopped to make the adjustment, or can you just stop it with your finger ?
Yes, you can go ahead and lightly stop it with your finger.
What is the name of the small part under the balance? Help me please cause i wanna repair my clock.
