The "Ask Pastor John" answers are direct, brief, and insightful. At the absolute least, "Ask Pastor John" has always been a great compass for my further studies. I have so many books by John Piper, and they have ALL blessed me to tears, joy, and peace. God the Father instructs his Son, Jesus (Genesis 1): It was God’s Spirit through Jesus that moved upon the earth and brought light into the whole world. Then, in Genesis 1:26, God said to Jesus, “Let *US* make man in *OUR* image, after *OUR* likeness.” Using the power and authority given to him by his Father (Matt 28:18), Jesus created all things (Hebrews 1:2). In Isaiah 44:24, God said he does all things alone and by himself. However, in John 8:28-29, Jesus said “he does nothing of himself, but as the Father has taught him, he speaks these things.” Jesus only does the things that please the Father from beginning to end; it is Jesus who speaks and does God's commandments (John 12:49-50).
And that's where a calvinistic look at the bible breaks down. They try to haven't both ways. Either you're forgiven or you're not. All john is doing here is setting people up for failure.
You're too calvinistic. I don't mean that you can go around sitting and be proud of it. I mean that god gives grace and even though you feel bad about your sin , that's a good thing. Why is that a good thing. It means that the holy spirit is within you. If you don't feel bad about your sin anymore the holy spirit is departed. I wish you would review that pastor john and Preach on it like your supposed to.😊
