I went “naturally grey” almost three years ago. It was liberating and empowering. I also began to have thinning hair and went a little crazy when I began to notice it. Saw my dermatologist who suggested Rogaine, it works. Dry shampoo will also add volume. I’ve been thinking of doing a hair video.

After many years of wearing short hair, it’s medium length now with lots of wave & still fairly thick. I have been very lazy with styling it, but you’ve given me tons of inspiration! Thanks for sharing!

I love the way you play with your hair. I’m 63, had my menopause 14 years ago and my hair is still very thick. I’ve always had a lot of hair and feel blessed to have kept them this way. But I don’t know how to style them. I wear them under my shoulders or in a bun or a pony tail but nothing very fancy. I will try to accessorize them with clips, they are so beautiful on you, I hope they will do the trick on me.

Hi Margaret! When I look at your youtube picture, I can't help but miss your fringe/bangs! I thought you looked so cute with them. I know you decided to grow them out, but here's one vote for cutting them again. You are lovely and I hope you don't mind my honesty. Love watching your videos!

Right at the peak of menopause, my hair began to fall out, I mean fall out, handfuls a day of hair. I was mortified. My daughter is a hair stylist I showed her the handfuls of hair. First she wanted me to check with my physician if my medications might be at cause. After finding that it menopause at fault she started me on Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. I might add that I checked with my physician to be sure that there would be no interactions between my medications and the Nioxin. Once cleared I started on the duo. It made a world of a difference! I couldn't be more pleased. The only area that didn't do as well is the very front, but I wear bangs so it hides most of it along with a nice dose of hairspray. Thank you for allowing me to share, blessings....

Hi Margaret loved this video so much...I use to color my hair and back in 2012 I participated in CancerFreeze and in honor of my mom who was a 9 year breast cancer survivor me and 14 other ladies shaved off all our hair to raise money for this very worthy cause. I decided I would not color my hair and when it grew back its the same beautiful colors of white and silver my mom had. I cut my hair and style it and I keep a short asymmetrical pixie and love it. I wear headbands, ribbons, and flower crowns and absolutely love wearing bandanas. I have embraced growing gray gracefully and have no regrets on shaving my hair. You always looks so wonderful and very elegant. Have a great day, take care and God bless........( one more thing my hair is naturally wavy and curly so I can wear it curly or straight too).

    Aloha Margaret,
I did want to see if you could do a segment on going gray or white after 60. I’m 80 y/o now and I decided to go gray Jan 2018. I’ve colored my hair since I was in my 20’s And decided to go natural. I was experiencing hair loss and thinning. I am halfway there and by November I should not have anymore brown/black coloring. I have always worn longish hair but after several months, new hair started to appear which has made me happy. The front and sides are Snow White. Anyway, I’m receiving a bit more respect now ....😁 I love all your ideas for changing hairstyles using combs, etc. in creating different looks.

Wow, the jeweled head band. Awesome! LOL. I've used all those hair toys, prefer long hair because it's easier to manage for my particular hair type. When I'm busy and don't want to be bothered, it's still a high, spread out pony tail to add height and volume.

I liked the comment that the bow headband would go nicely with a turtleneck sweater...could you do a video on how to make average clothes more stylish? IE how to make a black turtleneck pull together an outfit with a scarf or accessories? My wardrobe is very plain and I wonder how I could just buy a few accessories and jazz it up? Not sure if you read comments that are this late (video posted 5 months ago!) but just an idea. Thanks! Nancy

Hello Margaret, yes, more hair videos, please! I had an idea...would it be possible for you to bring on a stylist and try on some wigs? I would just love to see how different you'd look with different colours/lengths/shapes. I have let my hair go grey and it is very blah, but it is still so dark in areas that I hesitate to colour it in case I end up with several colours on my head at the same time. I would like some inspiration, please. Perhaps you could go to a salon and film the transformations? Just an idea. Hope it is not too "way out."

Watching you play with your hair tonight, I had the thought that you would look quite good in bangs. Your forehead has height so cutting bangs would bring both interest and softness to your face as well as add some splash to your cut.

When you said you were 69 when you made this, I realized we're the same age ! I was 69 in Dec. '17, too. My hair has thinned out so much ! I never had a thick head of hair to begin with....& now I'd guess more than half is gone. Thankfully it's probably mostly noticeable to me. I don't have bald spots . But I'm realizing I need to reassess & re-think how to wear my hair, & maybe the products I use on it. I'm a long hair girl. I prefer long hair on me...but ! since it has thinned out so much & is very fine & wispy, I have to face reality. It doesn't look good long any more. This week I trimmed the wispy ends which evened it up & makes it appear thicker. It still goes slightly below my shoulders ….but I love longer hair. Just can't have it any more. Long hair looks best when it's thick & lustrous. Thank you for this video, Margaret. I never use hair spray...but your tip might be worth trying. My hair is so baby fine, nothing wants to stay put. Even before it thinned out, even when I was a teenager, I could put a barrette in my hair & within minutes, it would literally slide right down my hair & land on the floor ! LOL I adore pretty, print material headbands...but, they, too, do not stay put on my head. I wonder if your hair spray trick would work ! Oh...one new product I am trying is root lifter. This gives my hair just a bit more volume but not over-the-top. I'm not a big hair girl...just not comfortable w/that look on me. But w/the thinned hair, I am realizing I need a little help & the root lifter is working out nicely.
