Acrylics actually dry quickly, but they take longer to fully _cure,_ which is when they'll be more resistant to rubbing off. It also depends on _which_ acrylics you use. Most kinds will do the job, but some are better suited than others. Vallejo Mecha Color paints, for instance, are _specifically designed_ for action figures; they're a bit more durable once they're given the time to cure, and they're quite fluid, intended to be suitable for airbrushing right out of the bottle; This also means that whether you're airbrushing or not, you don't have to worry too much about leaving visible brush strokes in your paint. But I use a combination of higher-end model acrylics, and a lot of cheap craft acrylics; it just takes a little experimentation to figure how to get the best use out of each paint. As William Hays says elsewhere, thinning your paints a little is always a good move. How much you thin it depends on how thick the paint is in the first place, but the goal is to get it to flow off the brush well, and give a nice smooth coat. Don't worry about trying to cover the base colour in one coat; put a layer down, leave it to dry, then put down another layer on top. Multiple thin coats gives you a lot more control over the finish. And if you're using a colour that doesn't cover very easily, like a lot of yellows, try undercoating with a white or cream first, and you should need fewer layers to get to the colour you want. For brushes, again, you don't need anything fancy, but a good selection of small and medium synthetics should do the job, as long as you take care of them; wash them regularly, and don't let paint dry at the base of the bristles, because that's what makes them splay out everywhere, which makes it harder to control where the paint is going.
I probably would have tried to get as much of the older paint off so that it doesn’t look blotchy. But I understand what you’re saying about amateur painting.
That's really good I love your customs as they are very well done, and the paint you used looks interesting I usually use tamiya for my customs but yours has more of a matte finish which looks cool
I'm suggesting you try markers for glass. I'm customizing cheap Montoy robots and it works wonders. gives a nice shiny gloss finish too. Been doing this for a couple of months now and i'm feeling comfortable enough to even cut some plastic parts and add new details using spare parts from other robots. adding glow in dark plastic, magnetic equipment gimmicks, ect. also, tape is your friend here. gonna help you do straight lines and protect parts you don't wanna paint. thank you for sharing your creation.
you could store it as a thundercracker with an Earth mod, because if a thundercracker appears in your TV series, he will have to have an earth mod, and we will get sickers with earth planes only if they are in a new crossover, and then it seems to me that there will only be a starscream
I have the studio series thundercracker on Christmas and it was awesome maybe someone could remake the cyberverse scene of bumblebee and thundercracker
Are you planning on doing the red seeker (Redwing) and the green and yellow seeker (acid storm) because then you have all seekers that appeared in the bumblebee movie
Thank you for this video I have been thinking about making my own transformers but haven't decided yet. Because I been thinking about it because transformers are alot more expensive. But I am thinking about maybe trying to make my own soudnwave from transformers prime became I didn't receive my figure that order.
you should experiment on cheap dollar store models first. you'll gain assurance and experience and you'll probably be very happy with the results. i turned 3$ robots into 30$+ robots by adding new parts and doing excellent paint jobs.
Ion storm! And I absolutely love your custom seekers will ever get a Redwing aka the red seeker but we are most likely going to get official figures of these
You could wing it and make your own character like I sometimes do, or you could make an already existing character like maybe paint your siege sideswipe into movie colours sideswipe and give him his swords
TEACH ME YOUR WAYS but there’s a Easy way by using paper but only use it for a red series’s because using paper with a studio series it will be hard to transform it (MUST USE CONSRTUCIOTN PAPER)
Don't know if anyone knows this but beware of the new transformers earthspark. Because I found out that Megatron is a good guy and not a bad guy anymore.
@@F0XITR0N_PRIME yes same here. I can't wait until I get home. I just got to notification on my FedEx update that shockwave and the specimen with predaking was sent to my house today. I was already delivered. So any tips on how you do the videos when you unbox your Transformers? Cuz I never done it before so I was wondering if you could give me any tips

Might as well sand the parts and prime them before painting if you're going to repaint almost everything. Thin your paints, multiple thin coats is better than painting a single coat with really thick paint.
I know u just said "don't ask for commissions" so how about a suggestion: custom paint the studio series Blitzing to make earth mode Starscream and seekers.
Hey foxitron here’s a funny idea for if you make a better version on how to make customs is use like really old tutorial music but if you don’t wanna make it funny is fine

You are lucky you can get a few copies of blitzwing
That means Blitzwing has his own Seekers! lol
@@G1Houndeditz no I turned my copy into thundercracker
I have to customize knockoffs and they are not the correct paint job

You can also use tape so you can get a strait line of paint, and it also prevents paint from getting on the parts you don't want to paint over
Hey, I was getting kind of invested in that bit in the beginning! 😂 Seriously, I might watch a whole series with voices and figures
