If you’re new, hello hello WELCOME 🥰 My name is Loéva, I’m an 18 year old artist.. I mainly do 2D traditional artwork (e.g painting and drawing) but I’ve really been experimenting and trying a bunch of new stuff lately.
I thought I would share with you a one week vlog of what it’s like studying visual arts in University, this week I particularly focused on printmaking, but there’s a bit of painting in there too as well as some procrastination towards assignments and essays :(

Thank you for the tip on how to make carving easier! My school doesn't offer anything related to print making so i just got some supplies to try it myself and was really struggling (my appt is very cold) I hope my next prints will be better than the first haha

this vlog was so fun to watch - i know this vlog is old now but i just wanted to say that as a fellow printmaker your prints look great and the balance of elements to achieve the perfect print is so hard 😭 for your print so you dont get the ghosts from the places you’ve carved , you can clean them up with paraffin (assuming you’re using an oil based ink) and it will look clean again

Interesting old press. I think it's good to try that press ONCE for the experience, but really it is making relief prints the hard way. Using an etching press gets perfect results and is geared for easing turning. That's how I do it.
Oo! At first I thought those weren't good for lino but i later started using them for bigger prints, it is easier! Although comes with new challenges 😰

Your work looks amazing, I wish I could have done more than one print making piece in my degree.

I'm taking printmaking at my school. One thing I don't like about it is when doing block printing,all of the prints have to be identical and proportional
Thats annoying! Our teacher was saying how having variation between prints makes them so much more interesting 🤩
