He was not Brazilian. Not in the way we currently understand what it means to be Brazilian, that is.
He was a Portuguese from Santos. We were all Portuguese back then (at least those of us lucky enough not to be enslaved). The Portuguese Empire, unlike, say, Spain, didn't discriminate subjects based on geographic origin (it did on many other grounds, but that's another story).
Plus, the term Brazil, back then, was used mostly as a general denomination for a poorly defined geographical area, much in the way we say The Guyanas, the Caribbean or the Southern Cone nowadays.
In all likelihood, de Gusmão never thought of himself as being anything other than a Portuguese from São Vicente/São Paulo.

Create a second Amzonian state with Spanish language. Comprising the Amazon regions of Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia and Venezuela. Essequibo can be given to Venezuela. The Nordeste Brazil mentioned in the video can also form a state. The Pantanal areas in Bolivia can be attributed to Brazil. Because Brazil takes better care of their protection.

NAH BRO YOU AIN'T TAKING AWAY SOUTH PERU FROM US
(Like, actually, as someone who knows a lot about my own country, those separatist movements are mostly a tantrum by some politics to "escape Liman centralism" which, yes, I get, but the thing is that an independent South Peru ain't surviving without Lima)
ALSO, YOU COULD HAVE GIVE US TARAPACÁ AND ARICA BACK. WHYYYYYYYY

Being Peruvian, the only separatist movement I could give any chance of succeeding for a while would be Loreto. Until you realize Peru could attack it from at least 3 routes.
Southern Perú state would be mostly complaining about Arequipa centralism

@@grandetristesse2.060 As I said, the separatist movement is basically a tantrum from politicians, most specifically, people with the same ideology as Antauro Humala. I don't wanna get political, since I just don't like talking about Capitalism and Communism, but the only thing you gotta know is that this Antauro guy is considered a terrorist.
With that piece of information, I hope you realize that most of these politicians that want a South Peru are extremists that fight against "capitalism", a.k.a. centralism in the big cities. And why do I get it? Because, for example, there are more universities in Lima than in the rest of Peru. The other provinces of Peru are very neglected, basically forgotten and left to be destroyed by corruption, but, again, yes, this is bad, but breaking away from the capital won't help you. As I remember other politician once said, "We are not Singapore"

Los territorios de América del Norte formaban parte de la nueva España. El virreinato de la Nueva España los gobernó junto con México, y cuando México se independizó se los llevó. I would have created, along with gaining Bolivia an exit to the sea, the Altipalinc Republic or the Republic of Qullaw, since they already have the Wiphala and share, culture and language, which means Jujuy, Salta and Tucumán in Argentina should also go to them, along with Antofagasta in Chile and the south of Peru as you mentioned in the video.
I would also divide Bolivia in two since most "European" descendants live in the east maybe joining the South Brazil Republic.
For the Mapuche (btw always singular) people I would have given them at least Neuquén of Argentina, plus the two southern regions of Chile (Los Ríos and Los Lagos) and the country should be name as Wallmapu, since it has always referred to this way.
Chile would also gain Mendoza and San Juan due to having very similar cultures and to compensate for all the losses of Chile as well.
Then I would have created another state consisting only of Patagonia (no kingdom we don't like patronising Europeans).
And finally, I would have given the Falklands to the Patagonian Republic (since we don't like occupied territories, same as northern Ireland).

Another idea is to create an united Hispanic country with many options:
    -All Hispanic American countries united.
-Two countries for two viceroyalties: México and Perú
-Four countries for four viceroyalties (one of them very small): México, Perú, Nueva Granada and el Río de la Plata.
    What about Pascua Island?
The Guayana Empire does not make sense at all, but French Guayana should be definately independent.
I really like to create small religious city states like the Vatican, but I dont find any possible fun one within South America :(.
