Great, Music Maker was my first Daw many years ago, so I used it to make my first music production attempts. I still found it very good for the price. I don’t use it now but still good memories.

Cool Ivan. Yes, it's fun to look back on where we started and where we are now. I have some fond memories of the early days as well.

They finally rebuilt the sequencer in the piano reel which was always my biggest complaint. I have other DAW's, but ultimately the speed of workflow in mmm is beyond any other DAW and I have had them all. I do primarily real instruments, real vocals and sequencing synths, but their automation is still some of the best for people focused on samples and sequencing their own beats. There are tons of tasks that heavy weight DAW's put tons of crap in the way of that add absurd amounts of wasted time along the way. Where they screwed up is the worthless Beatbox in 2023.
They should be trying to compete with Fruityloops and Ableton then did that! Yuck! They also scrapped their previous drum machine entirely and the option is dreadful VSTI's with their piano reel drum option; *works like shit just like a lot of DAW's.*
*Fortunately and amazingly, MPC Beats works as a plug-in! Running 2 DAW's in a single DAW and they are different enough that it's fucking amazing! lol*

Yes, I'm always surpsised every time I try a new version. It's crazy what you can get for almost nothing if you looks. Thanks for all the info in your comment. You sound like you know your way around this software!

@@dawjunkie-studio-one I have learned and loved a lot of DAW's but I've stuck with this one for nearly 20 years.
The last song I worked on be it the automation or just "flaws" of Magix, the rhythm and lead synths that switch place swell/shrink in volume when they swap roles without me automating them to do so. It would sound a bit better if I did it manually but for a lot of projects that I just want complete, it's perfectly adequate. I can easily and quickly go back in and improve them down the road if they find any demands for commercial release or live performance.
The rate I can complete songs or at least huge portions of in it has no significant competition.

Yeah, I think if they revamp the look and feel of Samplitude, they'll be closer. But they do come out with some interesting stuff.

@@dawjunkie-studio-one One cannot underestimate them. I've used their DAW in the beginning of my electronic music production since 2001. These days I'm on Ableton and Cubase, so there had to be a change.
