Off topic but In my opinion, the reason Matt hasn't reached the higher leagues yet (MLS, Bundesliga, Premier League etc.) is that he is playing one of the most athletically demanding positions in the form of a right winger. It is also one of the most competitive and hard-to-devote-to positions in just about any league of football and trying to stay consistent in it makes it even more difficult to appeal to managers, scouts, and club owners of the highest level leagues. No offense but He has great technical ability and plenty of athleticism but he should utilize more of his skills as either attacking or defensive midfielder instead. It will make things easier to when it comes to approving scouts' and managers' trust in the higher level leagues in positions such as MF, DF, and forward and even striker.Ronaldo and Messi initially were not wingers during the early part of their careers, and to impress coaches they started out as strikers (Ronaldo) and playmaking forwards (Messi, who was complimented by Maradona for his vision). It was not until they made it to the biggest leagues that they began to showcase their skills as wingers and getting the job done when it comes to attacking defenders. At that time their careers were already somewhat secured after winning their coaches' hearts with their initial forms before they were gradually assigned winging roles.I think Matt should play either midfielder or defender or if he can persuade, act as a striker to impress the guys in the bigger leagues more quickly and then go on to play right winger once he makes it there.
Hey Matt, I need some advice. I’m currently 15 and playing for the U16 team of a Division 6 team in England. Around a year ago I was one of the top players in the team and won player of the year. However, since then, I have had a chronic back pain issue that has really halted my development and I have found myself slipping behind- I even took the last 3 months out because the pain was just unbearable, but though it has improved slightly, I’m nowhere near back to my best. I have an aching pain in my lower back, tight and sore glutes, quads and hip flexors, and was wondering if you’ve seen or experienced anything like this and any tips on how to recover. This is a crucial year for me as if I recover my previous fitness I could potentially be signed for the U18s and play at a high level against Pro Academy teams up to League 1 (Div 3) standard. I have tried physio, stretches, strengthening and even had MRI scans to see if I have any spinal arthritis but nothing has worked. Thanks

Should I be doing strength training at the gym or aim for hypertrophy for football? Should I be aiming at more the 1-5 rep range for my gym work and should I do that for every muscle group I work? Thanks
Jazzy Wikberg so do strength training for a month or so and then change back over aiming for hypertrophy and bodybuilding when working outta? Cheers mate

I do it in my basement I do like 1000 pop corn 1000 toe taps 1000 inside outside and just skills for like 1 hour i play soccer like 4 hours a day and get ask to play on teams that don't know me
focus on how to hit the ball with your dominant foot and repeat that on your other foot. Lots of people notice that there "weak" foot isn't actually weak and that they were just hitting it awkwardly
You should come to the USL team for Atl Utd so you can have a direct pathway to the MLS.
