It's probably easier to keep track of the monkeys by giving the offspring a name with the same letter as the mother. And they seem to use a lot of Western names as that might be that main targeted audience.

But, you are right, they are still only animals, and viewers like to project human behavior & emotion on them. Poor monkeys.
