Hey! Yes there are certain armours, the ones with a little rainbow esk reflection on them, only one of these can be equipped at any one time, they have added buffs on them, you might be best off just wearing the same suits of armour in most cases as these give you buffs the more of the same type you wear :)

You'll need to make sure you're making the higher tiered stuff and you'll be able to calibrate it to higher levels :)
