Hey Chris, love your show. Regarding the last two weeks bloom where we may or may not start flushing. Does the plant actually stop pulling up nutrients or are you just purging extra nutrients in the medium? Reason I ask this is fruit trees in the Fall, go these lovely colours as they ripen. Does the tree actually stop pulling up nutrients from the soil, or is perhaps the soil now depleting in natural nutrients? We are copying Nature in everything we do, I’d really like to get my head around this part. Thanks again, Peace!
@@Malc.Mclagan as far as your fruit trees go they are actually being trigger by environmental factors. Ie getting colder in the root zone which slows nutrient up take and signals the plant to prepare for winter coming, also light amounts can start triggering fall in a plant. And when you grow organically and the plant reaches the end of its life it stops pulling nutrients and starts fading and readying for the next generation. When you feed liquid nutrients you force feed the plant so you can keep it green till it dies naturally and by pass the natural process
Do you hold off on watering maybe the last 3-5 days of the plants last week alive before harvest or before dark period? i have heard of it as "starting to dry" in the pot.
@@kreparAZ you can do this and speed up your drying time after harvest. And get you started on curing sooner. Mr. Canucks grows has done this let his plants dry in the pot in a episode
I am doing my first ever grow and am coming to the end of flower (Day 39). I have found channels like this extremely helpful, so thank you. The lady is looking great. I went with BioBizz products for everything (Soil, nutrients, etc). Works out expensive for a single plant grow (IMHO, worth it). This is a personal grow for my own use and wanted to maximise the chance of success by eliminating as many potential issues and maximising harvest. I have followed their feeding schedule to the letter. They have a preventative dose of Cal Mag included for every feed (1.5ml per 5ltr) I had 2 issues in the grow so far, 1st was PH too high. Adding a single 1 ltr of PH5 water between feeds fixed it immediately. The issue arose because I was trying to PH the water after adding the feed instead of before and using cheap PH pens. I went to simple liquid dropping PH test kit after that and PH'ing before adding feed. No issues after that. Note: All BioBizz products do not effect the PH of the water. 2nd, I had a faulty humidity monitor controlling the humidifier and would leave for a day and come back and very high humidity leading to condensation in the tent. This led to a fungus issue on the plant leaves. I removed the plant, cleaned down the tent with isoprpyl, removed all of the effected leaves, corrected the humidity issue and haven't looked back.
I always had an issue with Cal Mag until I learned to mix my bites properly. Cal Mag always first before your base nutrients. I use general hydroponics and they only tell you to mix micro first. Great tip!
So glad you do what you do ! U always thank us for watching, we all are the ones that are thankful!!!!!!! Would never be where I’m at if it wasn’t for you! Thanks man!

Harvest 2 hours before sunrise when turps are highest. Basic science. Go to tractor supply and buy huge bag of diatomaceous earth with calcium bentonite mixed in. Keep on top of soil, keeps fungus gnats out and adds plenty of cal.
Good podcast. Been enjoying your videos lately. Not sure why but I decided to comment on the questions as well. 1st question. I always try to mimic nature as much as possible. There is no 48 hr darkest period in nature so any difference seen is going to be very minimal. In fact most wait until 4 hrs of darkness. thats when the benefits if harvesting at night or early morning start to kick in. My guess would be there is probably very little difference between 4 and 48 hrs of darkness and any difference probably cant be noticed by those consuming it. 2nd? ) If your building an organic soil. then use individual amendments. It takes several grows to start to see the results but once the soil is really alive you will only need to add minimal amendments going forward. If your in coco then the premixed are what you want because the plants are trying to access those notes right away and there is nothing residual in the coco. Think of it like hydro. 3rd? )Depends on your water. If your running tap water from the city you will probably have plenty of calcium in the water and only need to add Mag(Epsom salts). Well water and RO water use cal mag. 4th? ) Ok why would you reuse soil. If your going to use soil either use stuff that is premixed and will last an entire run then throw it out. If your wanting to wash out soil then just switch to coco. It is the perfect medium to reuse over and over again. Up to 5 times anyway. 5th? Perfect answer. regarding low humidity. Same experience as you. Usually results in airy buds. Get a good humidifier and get that humidity level up to at least 50%
Love your show and I’m glad you’re answering more intermediate questions. My question is “if auto flowers flip to flower without changing the light schedule. Then do we even need too?”

Hey there, Mr. Grow It, I have 2 questions for yea that I've been wondering about: (1) When using the 36Hours of dark/no-lights, for transitions potentially quicker into flower, how do you go about watering your plants? Do you water on the days that had full exposure to light only? i.e. Lights turn off, water, lights stay off for 12hours throughout the nighttime + another 24hours, then lights come on the next morning & water again once lights go off ( intending to water lights off with a reservoir to save water usage 😃) (2) I've heard Living Soil produces an increased amount of CO2, due to the microbial lifeforms exhaling it. I've never used a CO2 garden additive, what are your thoughts on them? & do you have any recommendations for testing out a sustainable system for a small 2x4? Perhaps something that can be used for the 1st three weeks & then shut off until the next flowering period. Someday I'd love to use some kind of extractor system that pulls CO2 from the environment & pumps it into a GreenHouse for instance for the plants to make go use of 🪴Until then, I may simply keep it to what's being naturally produced by the organic medium Awesome info by the way in this episode! I wrote down the titles of each of the books you mentioned & have studied some of Jorge Cervantes' work in the past ☮️
Question isn't THC production take place through the lights out. As well just curious and then I've heard that a lot of guys will do 48 hours off for THC production and allowed all the salt in the plant to drop from the plant down into the roots and then turn the lights on for 30 minutes to 1 hour before harvest to allow that THC production to be pumped up into the pulled up into the buds again this is a question
Look up a part test on youtube or on a webpage for your specific model. people have most likely already done the work for you. I was lucky enough that Mr. Grow It had recently tested the same light I had purchased. So I set it at the same settings and distance that he tested, and its working.
@@odiousmelodious2410 I know what par numbers my light puts out but I'm not running it at max for the full grow so those numbers don't really help 90% of the time.
I kinda know my numbers but I’m using two lights so covering this would definitely help me as well, I don’t trust the iPhone app, maybe He could test it against his par meter.
@@sneazygreens I've read on a forum if you have white led it is: lux × 0.15= 1/2par for white and red led 3500k and 6000k, But it might just be outdated hippy math. Best to look up a test on your light or borrow a par tester. I only have a lux meter.
I've been growing for three years without cal-mag, but I'm not opposed to trying it. I've had a few fan leaves with calcium issues, but never more than a few.
I go by Welcome To the Grow Tents regime of Cal-mag with every water 💧(using R/O water), Great White every 2 weeks, Feed, water, water, feed, but my runoff ppms are still 2100 after the last transplant, so I haven't added nutes yet...not til they get down to like 600
These were amazing questions. But I feel like you cut off explaining the struggle of using it in a smaller pot and wish you could elaborate. I’m using a 5 gallon pot and have experienced a fare share of issues but overall pretty good first grow myself. Thank you for this video!
Chris - found this regarding dark periods. I think SIMM did a study. Stichting Institute of Medical marijuana (SIMM), the first company to sell marijuana through the pharmacies of Holland, has been investigating the medical possibilities of cannabis, together with TNO laboratories and the University of Leiden. One of their discoveries has been that to keep the ripe plants in the dark before harvesting could increase their potency.SIMM’s growers separated a crop of mature plants, harvested half of them and kept the other half in absolute darkness for 72 hours before cutting and drying. Analysis of the resulting dried buds showed that some varieties had seen an increase of THC of up to 30%, while CBD and CBN remained the same." Thc degrades in light. Thc is used by the plant as a sunscreen, primarily to deflect UV-b which damages the molecule. The thrichomes are refracting sunlight away from the plant protecting it from the damaging uv-b. The plant produces these trichomes in the twilight hours before sunrise in order to protect itself from the sun. Extending this twilight dark period allows for the plant to continue producing thc without it being damaged by light.
Love the Videos mate... A wealth of info... Do you know if there are books out there that specifically have info on L.E.D. grows, such as distance of light and what settings your lights should be on during certain stages of the grow? From what I've researched there isn't anything out there that's a reliable source. maybe that could be a book for you to publish...
Talking from experience, there is something that can be done with lighting at the end stage of flower to bring out an improved flower...But there is also other adjustments elsewhere to further enhance the final product...You will not find this info in most books on the subject..
I also live in the desert and RH is difficult to raise, especially when I run AC to keep the temps down. One humidifier is not enough. I ve been thinking of adding a second but doubt it will help much. Anyone out there had success with this?
Can you break down the PPM system for hydroponic growers and for mist-o-ponics. I understand that the liquid fertilizers are designed for 5 gallon pots in veg and 10 gallon pots for flowering. The PPM's change per the stage of the plants. Most growers start near 70-100 PPM for seedling and end near 1000 PPM right before the flush, Increasing the PPM value incrementally based off of the amounts of week. Such as 10 weeks divided by 1000 equals 100 PPM increase a week or 12 weeks divided by 1000 equals ~70PPM increase per week. Does this matter? Plants can only absorb so much from the root nodes. Follow up question: You stated you start with the Cal-mag at 5-10mL wouldn't this will start your PPMs way to high to get an accurate base nutrient read out. Does the PPM include ALL of the main fertilizers and additives? Such as Cal-mag, Mycorrhizae or the PH additives. What is the best PH balance? After doing a lot of research it seems 6.5 has the highest absorb rate for all nutrients across the spectrum. I am told by most growers to aim for 5.8 - 6.0, this locks out or reduces absorption rates of a couple nutrients. Why do growers grow at a lower PH, blocking or reducing the absorption rate of Mg, Cal, and K.
I hear that some of the best growers are very serious about having NO light leak in their grow tent. This confuses me because the moon can sometimes be bright enough to read a book with its light. It is rarely 100% dark outside and I have seen some amazing plants grown outside.
i dont have all the answers but i promise light leaks will destroy you....no power bars no green lights nothing....my humidify glows blue i had to black tape or paint everything..no infered

Hello I live in the midwest zone 6 and well I have a long story. Shorter version is . I moved everything to my greenhouse and it began to bud. 🤪 I knew this would happen moving to short days but my question is whats going to happen now. ? Will I get bud rot will it keep budding im just as confused as my buds.
Im thinking about doing synthetic nutes. In my base mix of castings, peat and perlite, do I need to amended with anything else such as dolomite lime? Gypsum? I'm currently doing a complete living soil but want to speed up the process. Any tips appreciated
In living organic no till I have been using compost tea fairly regularly. I have been brewing about 3 teas a grow but I let the tea brew for about 1.5 months while adding hi brix molasses(6 tblsp) every couple of days(55gal). Most info I get says to brew for 24-72 hours. I have yet to see any issues with this method as I'm trying to keep the tea pretty strong. In 100 gal pots. My question 1. is are there any problems that you think I will encounter in The future with this method? 2. If the solubility of an amendment is low will the prolonged brew help extract nutrients more to the tea compared to the 72 hour window?
Veeevo I think it is. Cause the word vivo means "to live" in spanish. So I think it would make more sense for a growtent company to have the name "Live Sun" but that's just me. Thanks Mr. Grow it
For the gentleman or woman that was asking for dense buds it really comes down to genes, but if ur not over watering u should get fairly dense buds to begin with, kinda like getting peppers hotter in the veggie garden 🍻
I'm growing and Fox farm ocean forest and using Fox farm slow release amendments all organic my question is if I am using an all organic slow release feeding schedule is it a good idea to use calmag?
I would like to hear your opinion on the lighting used. Specifically, LED vs HPS. The purists like the HPS but is it better for the plant growth and yield. I am a home grower and not growing for profit.
Question: Growing in living soil using distilled water from start to finish. Should I check the PH after adding amendments, nutrients, or making a Tea?
They say in organic growing you dont have to.. but whn i ran a live soil i still check ph. Just to make sure. Ph was between 6.5 -6.8. Better safe then sorry.
What might stop a plant from drinking (not feeding ) I have avoided watering to make sure I haven’t been over watering but there hasn’t been signs of drying in the past two weeks and the plant is starting to wilt as if thirsty
Hey bro, so I'm jus about to start my first dwc grow and goin to be using veg plus bloom nutrients. Should I get hydro guard to keep the roots safe with this nutrition line?
Is leaf temp differential (air vs leaf temp) a good tell of light intensity? I’ve heard 2* lower leaf means the light is good, less means lights are too intense, more temp difference means more light could be used? I don’t have a par meter and am looking for some way to get light feedback. Thanks for the time you take to make these.

awesome brother ... Hit it hard brothers and sisters !!!!!! NY IS LEGAL YAAHHH HOOOO

Yeah buddy! UPSTATE ORGANICS AND EDIBLE CO. Coming soon to a store near you :)
I bought a bottle of cal mag but ive never really had a good time to use it. I got it on my first grow I am now on my 5th grow
Good video chris
Thanks for the knowledge
My question would be, for those of us without a par meter, what is the best way to make sure we have enough lighting in the different plant stages?
There are a some app's you can try-out they use the camera of your smartphone✌🏻

More chane it was spike in PH. If using tap water no need for cal-mag. He only using cause has RSO water. You don't need super clean water to grow.
When are you doing a show on rdwc system ? Thats my question. Lol. I enjoy the shows thank you.
I go by Welcome To the Grow Tents regime of Cal-mag with every water 💧(using R/O water), Great White every 2 weeks, Feed, water, water, feed, but my runoff ppms are still 2100 after the last transplant, so I haven't added nutes yet...not til they get down to like 600
With calmag you don't want to get the proportions off with the nutrients or you will get lockouts. If 1/2 nutes do 1/2 calmag as well.
Analysis of the resulting dried buds showed that some varieties had seen an increase of THC of up to 30%, while CBD and CBN remained the same."
Thc degrades in light. Extending this twilight dark period allows for the plant to continue producing thc without it being damaged by light.
awesome video! good questions!
You should get somebody on here that’s experienced in RWDC for us trying to get into it. Thanks!!!

Thank you Eric. I am one of those growers that is ready for organic growing. Can you make a list of what works well for you? Thank you. 🙏🏼
Just buy a bag of compost +perlite.Garden centre fertilizer seaweed liquid maybe superthrive sorted.Invest in regular seeds. It is a weed after all
Talking from experience, there is something that can be done with lighting at the end stage of flower to bring out an improved flower...But there is also other adjustments elsewhere to further enhance the final product...You will not find this info in most books on the subject..
Can you go into any detail on if fox farm soils using fertilizer in their soil?
What are your thoughts on the Mars Hydro TS 1000 light?
Would love to hear how you keep your RH up. I live in the desert and have a hard time maintaining my RH.
I also live in the desert and RH is difficult to raise, especially when I run AC to keep the temps down. One humidifier is not enough. I ve been thinking of adding a second but doubt it will help much. Anyone out there had success with this?
@@sailingcontigo7953 i run 3 just to get it to 60 RH.
Try putting a bucket of water in the room. I tried dwc and gave up due to too high RH.
yo love your channel - just curious, what happened to your seedling to harvest video series?
Dry backs and frequency of feedings
Dude sometimes the moon is so bright damn plants look like I left the porch light on
Q&A is making a worm castings tea good for adding in beneficial bacteria and microbes? Like could I just use that for my life in my soil and maybe add in some worms? I use Gaia green organic dry amendments
Question: Outdoor photoperiod plant - can it be "flipped to flower " after 21 June by moving it indoors to a black room for 48hrs ? How many days after 21 June before putting in black room?
Slf100 will eat and break down those excess salts. Also bokashi is great for reconditioning soil
I know how you love your comment section so I figured I'd ask if there's any way you could get leah remini to go over to your house and lay under that nice led you got there spread eagle on a nice plush bed of tupar coco. That would get you some subscribers
You do a great job! What do you or did you do before starting this video? I have some ideas about what you do or did. It be interesting to know where some of the personality comes from! THX!
HEY MR GROW IT-im currently using a mix of 1/3 hp peat& pearlite -1/3 vermiculite-1/3coco[not the bricks] and a fair amount of worm castings-with good results.i would like to try gia green line fert.the GH hydro line is good but to much build up of salts toward the later stages do you find organic nutrients to be benifical in this regard i hate to flush my girls , your thoughts would be appreciated . oh i veg in 2 gal pots and after 2 mnths I switch to a 4 gal
What size humidifier for your grow room? The one with the 4x8 you had going
Great video, why is your book only limited to Amazon🤔
Printing cost so much $ ... I'm trying to get printed copies but I have to resort to an overseas option. I'm working on it but it's very time consuming. No estimated date yet for when hardcopies will be available through my website.
Owki dowk I'll keep looking out for it as I'm band from Amazon🥴
What's the total amount of weeks the plant has been alive and at how many weeks before you flip to flower? I never see that I just see how many weeks it's been in flower. I'm new to this and would like to know.
Awesome

Thanks Mr. Grow it
Regarding Calcium, 25 years ago we never had this problem?
For the gentleman or woman that was asking for dense buds it really comes down to genes, but if ur not over watering u should get fairly dense buds to begin with, kinda like getting peppers hotter in the veggie garden 🍻
I can use a nice wide summer light do you finance hahaha
I'm growing and Fox farm ocean forest and using Fox farm slow release amendments all organic my question is if I am using an all organic slow release feeding schedule is it a good idea to use calmag?
The Rev says it's fine in his book, as long as its good quality calmag.
I would like to hear your opinion on the lighting used. Specifically, LED vs HPS. The purists like the HPS but is it better for the plant growth and yield. I am a home grower and not growing for profit.
LED lights create less heat, put out more light, use less electricity. theres no benefit to HPS lights
How do they make use and apply these fermented fruit juices?
Question: Growing in living soil using distilled water from start to finish. Should I check the PH after adding amendments, nutrients, or making a Tea?
They say in organic growing you dont have to.. but whn i ran a live soil i still check ph. Just to make sure. Ph was between 6.5 -6.8. Better safe then sorry.
What are alternatives to molasses, how would you rank them and/or compare them to molasses?
You might like Bembe from Foxfarm
I know you keep your plants small. How early can you flip a photoperiod to flower?
What might stop a plant from drinking (not feeding )
I have avoided watering to make sure I haven’t been over watering but there hasn’t been signs of drying in the past two weeks and the plant is starting to wilt as if thirsty
Hey bro, so I'm jus about to start my first dwc grow and goin to be using veg plus bloom nutrients. Should I get hydro guard to keep the roots safe with this nutrition line?
Protect the roots but the beauty of dwc is anything can be easily fixed or reversed quickly. Just add water :)

What tips or tricks do you give to control VPD
If you're looking for a slower dry after harvest would it beneficial to water (not feed) the plant before you flip the lights off for 24-36 hours?
Can I make a bucket of nutrients use only a small amount and wait till next feed and use the same? Ph and tdc test done as always before feeding.
