- I stumbled upon at an abandoned Walmart Supercenter on North Hayden Meadows Drive in Portland, Oregon. This time, I was able to go inside and look through everything. There was an auction going on which is why I went in. While this store opened in 2013, it never got remodeled over the years. This location closed in March of this year. It’s more likely that the interior is completely empty by now. This was filmed last May. I’ve been wanting to go inside an abandoned Walmart and here I am in the video!

Very strange seeing this! My Wife and I always used to go shopping at this Walmart when we lived in Portland. Finally moved to Vancouver Washington across the bridge to escape the crime, theft, and violence. It’s sad because this is a trip down memory lane. The area this Walmart is located in is completely overrun by homeless camps and abandoned cars left to rot in wooded areas. A very sketchy part of town.
Was this Walmart busy or not when they were in operation? It’s unfortunate that Portland has changed a lot over the years. It’s not surprising that this area is sketchy. Last year in October, I revisited this old Walmart and wanted to film it again as an update. The security got out of the car, I waved at him and asked if I can take pictures/videos and he said no unless I seek permission from the official Walmart. I was not shocked at all.

Thanks Smithy! Usually those auctioneers are fine with people recording things on the inside. As for liquidators, it may not always be the case but yet still have to go undercover filming anyway, lol! This is always the best feeling when I enter an abandoned building!
Wow Andy this is Long video thanks for the tour who would have thought walmart would close like K-mart retail has continued to shrink the past 15 years as well as fast food and every thing else lots of people cannot afford to shop for anything but bare needs and that is the true state of the economy thank you for dedicating your channel to documenting this

It sure is! I’ve seen couple of posts through social media where they auctioned several Walmart locations. I asked one of the bidders if they are willing to sell fixtures in other Walmart I filmed in Portland last month. So far no updates yet.

Looking good there bro in them red sweats!! Were you able to help out the customer on register 3, I seen it’s light was flashing! Lol😂. We had a neighborhood market close up the first of June just down the street from me, but there was another neighborhood market not up far away and a super center, which was most likely the reason. Walmart did say that they were not only closing underperforming stores, but ones that were constantly being targeted by shoplifters. Nice job buddy! Proud of my brother Andy as always!!

Any business owner in the region could show to bid on shelving and other equipment. I remember when the restaurant I worked at suddenly closed, other restaurants came by to buy things. Even utensils and plastic trays were picked up.
I remember my old hometown buffet had an auction as well. Most of the things were left behind after the event was done which was kinda a bummer.

It’s my dream to go into a Walmart during a closing auction sale! This is what I’d imagine it looking like if mine closed, except 2 entrances

i dont get why walmart just dont move the equipment to other stores
No idea why. Although the bidder told me that the hanging signs on the inside that belonged to Walmart might have already been transferred to another store location.

Near my home, but I seldom went there. It was too dangerous, especially in the parking lot.
I heard this store in the area wasn’t the greatest. Sorry you had to go through this. If it wasn’t for crime issues, it’s more likely that this store would still survive.
It was super tiny and cramped. shoulda been a neighborhood market.

I went there one time and it was terrible. It sadly closed tho. One of the reasons why they closed is because of many vandalism and homeless living in the area. Also because the company wants to increase the quality of the merchandise and stores.
True, I heard this area isn’t the greatest due to crime stuff.
My store opened the same year and remains the same to this day
