Good video and well instructed, Brett. However, the screen protector comes very poorly reviewed in Amazon. What is your experience with the fingerprint reader? I use that function heavily, have done so since my Note Edge, with great success. However, the negative reviews on this screen protector in Amazon, almost without exception, note that the fingerprint reader becomes almost useless. Help?
While the fingerprint works with the screen after using it for awhile it made it more frustrating to use and I eventually just stopped using the fingerprint scanner. I recently removed the screen protector and I have had no issue using without the screen protector. So far I have been ok without but I definitely live in more fear that something could damage my phone at any moment. If you are pretty protective of your phone you might be fine, even just the pre installed one might do that job.
@@TechWithBrett thanks for the quick and honest reply. I've owned Galaxy's for quite a while now with great success for everyday stuff. Tech With Brett Thank you for your videos! I really appreciate and enjoy your videos! I normally am not specific with the case I get for my Notes. I generally just want something protective with a kickstand. This is the first that I’m looking for a clear case with a kickstand (since the glow is different than any Note I’ve have). I got 2 that were similar and gave the one that I didn’t like as much to my friend, but I’m not even certain if I like the one that I have on it right now. Do you have any other suggestions? The other question has nothing to do with cases or screen protectors. I have my fingerprints set up and they are working great. I toggled the “faster recognition” switch off because I wanted to see how fast it was when it was technically not as secured. To my surprise, it was really fast. I think it’s actually as fast as any of the fingerprint scanners I’ve had on my previous Notes. However, I decided to go back to just double check to see if turning that toggle on would be even faster. But it’s not there anymore. I’m assuming I turned something on, maybe a permission or another feature, and that made this disappear. I believe the same thing happened with my wife’s S10+ because I don’t see it there either. I know I toggled the touch sensitivity on and I thought maybe that was it, but I turned it off and nothing. Do you have any ideas? Since it’s new, I wanted to make sure that there isn’t an issue with the phone which I highly doubt. It’s the only thing I’ve noticed so again I think it’s something i turned on or off. Thanks in advance for your help.
I will be testing out some more clear case options soon. Just checking I could only find the faster recognition for the Face Unlock portion. That way if people are trying to use a photo or something it shouldn't unlock.
Tech With Brett I look forward to seeing those videos! Actually I know that option was there for the fingerprints, too. Even if you look at your own video a little after 14 minute mark, you’ll see that “Faster Recognition “ toggle. So I know it WAS there, but what did I do and even everyone else including you that made that toggle disappear. That’s weird that it would disappear. That’s why I’m guessing we turned something on that made it disappear, but what? Thanks for your help with this.
I would also suggest not dropping the phone screen down onto a bunch of rocks from roughly 6 feet, or dropping a 30 lb chunk of metal onto the screen edge first. You will destroy the screen, and it will cost you a lot of money. (A little over $400 if you don't have insurance) Don't ask me how I know.
Im all for the best screen protector possible but theres no way Id simply remove a factory installed Samsung one for the sake of it. You might get 2 years plus out of the factory one with a decent case and shocksock combo
Phone cases are junk. Some are nice. Wallet type phone type case with a magnetic closer is better. Look for one integrally built with Kevlar. You don't require a screen protector. Unless you are around crushed lava rock sand used on locomotives. Use some silicon dielectric grease on the sim SD card tray gasket. Use a plug to seal the USB C port. Charge via wireless and use wireless Bluetooth audio. Keep the screen in your pocket towards your thigh in your front pocket. Try it.
Mine dropped from a couch arm about a foot, cat knocked it off,had it 2 days, case was on order, but hadn't arrived.. Tiny crack at top right side and it blew it flashing orange screen, had to replace. I'm seeing all these vids about how durable it is?
I bought the galaxy S10 5G about a month after it came out and it never came with a screen protector from factory, was that something Samsung did afterwards or they have always done and I got screwed? I was worried about scratching it when I first got it and everyone knows when a phone first comes out there is nothing for it to find as for screen protectors or cases, I found a cheap screen protector film to put on it right after I got it but now am putting the Whitestone screen protector on it.
Nice informative video Brett - Thanks. I have watched quite a few of these as the phone is expensive and didn't want to mess it up - but - one thing nobody has mentioned is the front facing camera and any issues with the glue covering that - Have you heard of any problems?
Did your wife use her phone as a hockey puck or let your kids play with it as a car and keep sliding it across the side walk? I don't have a screen protector on my phone and I got it from E-bay and the back is scratched real bad but screen is scratch free.
And then you need to do 3 pirouettes and recite the alphabet backwards while touching your nose with your eyes closed.... The thought of actually putting adhesive on the screen makes one shudder.
Ok so it probably wasn't a good idea to wipe with alcohol after the first uv treatment. it got under the edge and formed a bubble. Now I have to buy another one.
I will cover mine with a skin to avoid scratches. My s8+ got scratches even with a protector at all times. So... For this expensive bad boy I'll buy a skin for the back the white Dome and a very protective case. I'm going all out!
I'm using Techmatte amFilm and UAG Monarch for my Note 10+. Techmatte protector is cheaper than Whitestone but involves more patience and DIY. Techmatte service is also better than Whitestone. It's survived a drop from kitchen counter onto hard tile floor. Force was enough to pop the SPen out of the housing. I was more afraid I broke the SPen as the phone bounced off the floor and landed on top of it.
Not gonna lie I don't use a screen protector. The factory one began peeling/bubbling around the corners and so I just took it off. Then used a soft TPU (I think) super heavy duty screen protector but couldn't use the S Pen properly with it so now I'm just free ballin it and I don't regret it. It's so much better without a screen protector.
I had the same issue with the Galaxy S10 the top part, whitestone screwed that part up, they didn't align the sticker part on the top properly, best install would be just move it above the line of the bottom part of the bottom speaker. I dunno why whitestone made a good protector punch out hole for the S10 and they made that ugly you shape cut out for the Note 10, looks very ugly. The top side.
So, what is wrong with the factory installed screen protector? I would think that if eventually the factory installed protector does get scratched, then I would change it with an aftermarket screen protector, but it is a big waste of money to change it as soon as I buy a phone. Tomorrow I am buying two Note 10 +.
very good video...i just recently got me a 10+ now i opted for an otterbox which price wise i got for about same price...one thing seems to be missing (even with a screen protector) some of us lay our phones face down either not thinking or just habit..my otter has a slight raised lip on top and bottom to keep screen itself from touching any of the surface!! i have the commuter ...anyway thanks for the vid...i believe im going to eventually get the screen protector!!
I still own this phone in the 10+ version and I have to say, this phone is way too good looking to cover up with a case like the one you got. For me, it just makes no sense getting such a good-looking phone only to cover it up. The purpose of getting a phone like this is to show off the aura glow, and not just a small tiny section of it. I got a really nice see-through case, comprobable to yours, so it is of nice quality. The screen protector is great. I got the Armorsuit which comes with free lifetime replacement, but I have to admit that mine doesn't look as nice as the one you used.
So the side edges of the phone are not protected at all because of the shape of the display? Top and bottom have protection, but side don't, so if the phone with this case on falls on the side it will get damaged.... (i have a note 4 with zerolemon 10 000 mah case, i can throw it from a building it will only brake the concrete it lands on....) Is it possible to get a case with that kind of protection for note 10+?
I removed the plastic screen protector form my Note10+ because my display didn't look as clear with the screen protector on, I believe because it is plastic. But you may not be able to tell a difference with a glass screen protector like the white stone dome, I'm I correct?
I have the unicorn beetle for my j7 and I'm upgrading to a Galaxy S10 Plus so they make one for that phone too and my unicorn beetle fetch my J phone perfect it's a tight fitted it snaps together really well so it's really good fall protection and I recommended that had mine on my j7 for 4 years now yes I know it's time for an upgrade
Damn, an 1100 dollar phone with a 50 dollar screen protector and a 40 dollar Samsung official case. That's almost 1300 dollars after taxes. We are in premium laptop territory now.

Regarding the cases you showed, all of them work fine with wireless charging? No need to take them out of the case for it to work?
Hmmmmm. Hmmmmm! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!
I might buy this screen protector for my Note 10+.
It takes too much to own a freaking phone these days
Verizon phone Note 10plus 256GB can you unlock this phone
Great video, my Whitestone dome arriving on Monday, excited to install on new Note 10+,thanks for this instruction. 👍
You didn't show if the protector gives any problem with using the s-pen, and if it gives any problems with taking out or putting back the s-pen.
Nice informative video Brett - Thanks. I have watched quite a few of these as the phone is expensive and didn't want to mess it up - but - one thing nobody has mentioned is the front facing camera and any issues with the glue covering that - Have you heard of any problems?
just clean it.
Had a note 2 for three years then got a note 4 and it'll be 5 years in may being my heavy daily driver.
Do they still offer security updates for the Note 4?
watch my unboxing video in 2020 with new approach of unwrapping.
Can the dome glass protector still be bought for the Note 10 plus ? I can't find them anywhere .
Ok so it probably wasn't a good idea to wipe with alcohol after the first uv treatment. it got under the edge and formed a bubble. Now I have to buy another one.
I cannot find a whitestone for my note 10+ anywhere. Ebay Amazon even the whitestone company is out of stock
Samsung has re-designed the new protection case for note 10plus , it is lighter and slimmer than the previously note 9 one
Looks like Whitestone is not longer making the screen protector for the Note10 Plus. Next recommendation?
gorrilla glass 6 is trash. i tapped the power button and the screen cracked on the edge. cost me $300 to fix.
I will cover mine with a skin to avoid scratches. My s8+ got scratches even with a protector at all times. So... For this expensive bad boy I'll buy a skin for the back the white Dome and a very protective case. I'm going all out!
That is the way to do it!
I was more afraid I broke the SPen as the phone bounced off the floor and landed on top of it.
actually a cell helmet case would be a better option as it covers 300.00 if you break the phone with a cell helmet case
The rugged case from Samsung is really great in my opinion.
Think I will take my chances this looks well too complicated for me 🤕 I'm too clumsy!
I'm tired already and he is only wiping the phone...
OMG I got so damn scared at 20:50 I thought someone was trying to rob my house
Does it perfectly worl with water droplets on it? Or under water with S Pen.??
16:10 he said let’s go ahead and try some screen protectors on the white dome
I have a Note 10+ and these kickstands wear out and are useless in a matter of months
I use the rugged case for my Note 10+, the phone is great. Great battery life as well
Are you not using any screen guard ?
9:44 what the heck is a schkream supposed to be ?
What happens when you try and take it off will glue residue be left over
So, what is wrong with the factory installed screen protector? I would think that if eventually the factory installed protector does get scratched, then I would change it with an aftermarket screen protector, but it is a big waste of money to change it as soon as I buy a phone. Tomorrow I am buying two Note 10 +.
Impossible to get through a day on the note 10 plus without a case.
I plan on using the same protection on my Note10+ demonstrated here except I prefer the silver rugged Samsung case.
It is always a hard decision on which color. Both look good!
very good video...i just recently got me a 10+ now i opted for an otterbox which price wise i got for about same price...one thing seems to be missing (even with a screen protector) some of us lay our phones face down either not thinking or just habit..my otter has a slight raised lip on top and bottom to keep screen itself from touching any of the surface!! i have the commuter ...anyway thanks for the vid...i believe im going to eventually get the screen protector!!
1. Does the samsung rugged case feel slippery in humid weather and show fingerprints?
2. Is it wireless charge and wireless powershare compatible?
How do you get the count of notifications on the home screen?
Thanks for the VID BTW
I use the Samsung Rugged case of my S9 Plus. It's my favorite case next to the Speck Grip case
I can't decide😭 Should I buy the black case or a case where I can see the colour of the phone? The black case looks good but I want to see the beautiful phone colour too😩
@ECH - Music Okay thx
Forget the whitestone dome to much work and cost to much
100% agree
Agreed
