These are great tips! My husband is currently in physical therapy and I've been getting a lot done waiting for him.

Yes, that is exactly what I am talking about about.
Glad your husband has you to help him get to his appointments!

Oh man I wish my seats laid flat that looks like a great setup. On our last road trip when we stopped to charge the car I popped the trunk & put my laptop on top of our luggage & presto, standing desk!

That is my kind of hard worker! Necessity is the mother of invention.

Loved this, Kate! I work while traveling quite a bit -- owning a fully-remote CPA firm gives me that incredible flexibility. Two of my favorite tools are actually very low-tech: my lapdesk and my folding desk! I bought a child-size lapdesk that fits in my carryon bag, and also nestles perfectly into my folding desk (which can be set up to work in bed, on a tabletop, or even on a counter so I can stand if I prefer). It folds almost entirely flat. And with my lapdesk I can work in the passenger seat of a car or in a hammock (where I am right this very moment). Will try to remember to take pics for y'all and share links in the group.
To the point of one of your philosophical arguments, the question you get about why you're working so hard that you're even doing it in your car? I get something similar. Since we live in Mexico during tax season, people will see me working in my amazing convertible laptop bag (another incredible tool... it folds open to make a screen glare and sun protector "box") and say, "oh you poor thing, having to work while you're on vacation". Nope. Not on vacation. These tools make it so that I'm figuratively *in my office* almost anywhere I want that office to be. The alternative plan for the day wouldn't be hanging out at the beach... it would have been working at my desk in frigid gloomy Chicago. It gives me freedom that I will never take for granted.

Not necessarily the way that I would go, but it does provide an optional lifestyle if I do decide to go camping or on a road trip. Thanks for the ideal.

Oh man, spending time waiting for kids is the BEST time to get stuff done. Often, you can't even watch what they're doing - it's just too far to go home and you don't want to go shopping. Why waste that time! Thank you for sharing; I've got the monitor in my amazon cart. Now...about the hat - where did you get THAT???? (and it looks like a great mousepad, too)

Yes, that awkward wait time is perfect time to be thoughtful about what kind of tasks we could be doing.
For the hat (and shirt) you can get it at www.tb4a.com/Hustle (affiliate link). Use code HUSTLE for 10% off.
There are so many good things in their store!
