@@TimyMac_MakerApprentice i have no idea how much work goes into making the vids, and while it doesn't look like you have a whole lot of views and subs, BUT: i hope you keep at it. the quality of the video and editing is really good. like w/ the hiking one, i was thinking, "he sat that damn camera and walked like 50 yards, then back, then edited that out..."
Thanks for the comment. I'm remaking the straps. Seems the wearer feels that they are a little to wide and thinks the yoke on the back may telegraph. Watch for Part 2!!
Just look at the eye specifications of the needle. I get mine from weaver. Also you might yry a speedy stitch needle. The device might even help avoid thr plier as long as youre doing saddle stitch
I really like you design, BUT, you never said how long the straps were or the size of that square in the back. I want to make one of these but my finances are limited and I can ill afford to just cut pieces until they fit. I and probably a lot of others would like to know those sizes...if you don't mind.
Gary, two of the straps are 28" and one is 32". They connect with Chicago screws for adjustment with holes punched every 1". The back connecter is 2.5" square. The holster and connecter are 6-8 oz veg tanned leather, the straps are 4-6 oz. leather. I would get a cloth tape, used in sewing, to take the measurements from around your arms to see what fits you best. I'm getting ready to modify the strap to 3/4" in width and change the connecter to a 1.5" flat metal key ring. After months of use we determined the straps need to be thinner and the connecter telegraphs through the back of a suit coat. Hope this helps and good luck. TimyMac
I hate to bother you so late in the game, but where did you get a 1.5 inch flat metal key ring? I tried using an oval piece of leather, but it didn't work.
Great Work
I like the simplicity of this shoulder rig. Kudos to you. Cheers!
Thany you, Joyce. I'm getting ready to modify the straps. Stay tuned!
good job
Cool!
these were fun and instructive!
We are trying harder...and harder😬

Try John James needles. Should be available from any leather supply.

@@garyanderson2720 Ace Hardware, Lowe's, etc. FYI: It doesn't necessarily need to be 1.5". 1" will work.
Nice video...very informative. The background music is a little irritating though.
Yeah, I'm still trying to get a grasp on the background music. Its hard to find light-hearted music beds. 😀 Thanks for watching!
