Hey guys , I used to weld up lot of trussing ,winches and counterweight flying systems for thearters all over the world .
I loved building jigs and making the working product that boss man wants and even come up with ideas and sure enough sometime boss man would agree on, that, some of us welders idea's to make a piece of stage machinery work as best as we could.
As now it's in my interest that this is equipment is welded so I could hang a bus off it.
I have a passion for welding, and things above our head's if it's not right it's failure before it's left the workshop. So making truss for example ... Depending on all the specific things needs of the truss types, corporate / rocken roll,or theatrical , there are certain standards required I'm sure .
I do know someone that is very highly respected certified engineer for entertainment industry, and no he didn't tell me that but he did tell me there are standards laid out to go by under different acts and rule's basically out line of all around standed in entertainment industry , I think something like that . But worth checking out before relisising that it won't fit with any body elses equipment .that a bad start . To companies or more cant converge corse some dumb bolt hole's won't line up,always refer to sex when building such equipment,,with a nice fit and snug sliding together with firmness

What an awesome and educational video. I am very grateful for this and all your efforts in educating the theater and event community; this kind of videos make rigging a whole lot safer. There is a lot of confusion as to toque specification for trusse bolts; I have read some people say 80 FLbs and even 300 Ftlbs. Maybe you can touch on this next time? Thank you.

If you're on the deck, how many seconds after you hear a sound in the sky and make a "heads" call, becomes any ground crew response? I know that is many questions.
