A great shuffle… the tone was shocking when this came out and David had that built in distortion in his voice. BTW… I never thought he was talking about ice cream.

This first album is 100% fire. I honestly believe that along with Boston and Led Zeppelin that is probably one of the great great great debut albums in rock music. Literally pick anything off of this album and it's incredible.
Another party song, my husband and I went out with my 2 our 2 daughters and our son, my son was drunk and asked the band if they were going to sing a song we could dance to and they started playing this song and my son yelled if you think I'm going to dance with my mom and sisters to this song you're sick. 😂 but we had a great time.
One of my favorite by Van Halen... David Lee Roth on the opening guitar blues shuffle.

I remember hearing Van Halen for the first time like it was yesterday. A friend had this album playing on his 8 track in his car. I was just barely paying attention then I noticed the guitar solo on Ice Cream Man and I asked “who’s that”? He said oh that’s a new band called Van Halen, I said no not the band who the hell is that guitarist? I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Went and bought the album that day and listened to every note Eddie played for days. It was mind blowing.
This is off one of the greatest debut albums of all time
This album was recorded in like two weeks. Just under a week for instruments, just over a week for vocals.

They recorded this in less than 2 weeks, Eruption was nearly a throw away but Ted heard Ed warming up. Easily one of the most amazing first records for any band. From 77-83 these guys were untouchable

I dont know of a video, but i saw david lee roth steumming the acoustic guitar in an early show they did. Big gaudy purple guitar with huge white feathers on it, lol. Also this is a cover from an early 60s artist, i cant recall the name tho

I don't know where you got your lyrics from, but you got a major part wrong.
"I got a puddin' pie bananas, and dixie cups, All flavors and push ups too" those are 3 classic ice cream varieties. There's nothing there about shoving a banana in a dixie cup.
Dave's lyrics can be quite sexy, suggestive and salacious, but never vulgar or explicit.
