Hawaiian locals were slack-jawed and quaking over this surf, and big waves are a part of everyday life on the North Shore. Winter of '23 is sending record-breaking surf all over the hemisphere and the epic waves for Eddie were the stuff of legend.

This is so misleading to people that don’t know who Eddie Aikau is or what the memorial event is in honor of him. Surfing has brought you game and “followers” and “likes” but a true Hawaiian is always an ambassador for the aina. Meaning let the haoles know where the place is in Hawaii and what the event is and how amazingly rare it is. Or else no one will understand Hawaiian. Love you baddah

It wasn't that big it was sloppy the contest was poorly organized ! When you have big waves and it's sunny try to pull off a surf contest to the best of your abilities!
