It's a joy to see Lea on such a cheerful production. So cute. She died to much (Kim, Fantine and Eponine) I uplifted to see her smile and do goofy stuff.
I WATCHED THIS IN SINGAPORE and on my way to esplanade i pray that Lea's feelin well so i can watch her instead of the understudy and i was lucky that night AND SHE WAS AMAZING!! I'd love to watch it again...
I remember watching this at CCP in Manila when i was 13 and it was the most magical day of my life. I felt like Cinderella. I wore a gorgeous dress i bought just for the show and my aunt bought me the rat stuffed toy after the show and this day felt unreal! Lea is amazing //Maria
happy that I was given a chance to watch her perform as cinderella way back 2008 at CCP here in philippines. ethnicity doesn't count, as long as you have talents. and if u watched the first part of cinderalla (stage play), cinderella is not originally american or english. it was ASIAN, I just don't remember what asian country.
You're asking how does ethnicity do with talent?! Oh everything , coz Lea herself experienced it first hand..I watched her story about " the song that changed my life" and she said they don't want to see her coz she's Asian ! And to think she already won a freaking tony award..
This musical was written in 1957 for television by Rogers and Hammerstein, with Julie Andrews in mind as Cinderella, and later went to the stage. There’s a RUclips video of the black and white kinescope recorded from a television screen of the show. Leslie Ann Warren played the part in 1965, also on RUclips. Brandy played Cinderella in 1997.
Actually, it's not a habit of naming men with a letter O or women with a letter A. It comes from the Spanish language of identifying a young man with an O in the end like Seniorito and young woman with Seniorita. Also, traditionally some women are given a first name Maria Cristina, Maria Imelda while men can have the name Maria after Mother Mary after their first name like Jose Maria (Jose Ma.).
@jonamaria21706 I wish Salonga sang the keys Julie Andrews sang in. I think TEN MINUTES AGO is the only song in this production that was in the same key that Salonga and Andrews sang in.
really? Ive seen the cinderella shown in resorts world it wasnt too bad but karylle was not meant for musicals i guess, her understudy was even better. :(
Yes, I agree with you on Karylle. BTW, I Iike musicals with real sets and not some digital screens as backgrounds. I think I'm just old school. Too bad you weren't able to watch Lea's.
@@aragonjr Dir Bobby Garcia promised the transitions will be smooth and he was true to his word. That gown quick change by just circling around the carriage!
@@rhey25 I tried to watched Rama and Sita last week. I stopped watching after 8 minutes. I guess because my expectation was higher since it was Ballet Manila. I was disappointed with the set, the songs and so on :)
Though I am not a filipino, but from I am from Asia, and am so proud to be one, SHE IS AWSOME!!!
Thank goodness she doesn't have to die in this one

she's the Broadway queen of all time. a Disney legend.
LEA SALONGA Philippines' Pride
I saw this production in Singapore during Winter Break, and Lea was amazing!

Happy to watch this in Manila (CCP) in 2008. This is way better than this year's version staged in Resort's World c",?

You're asking how does ethnicity do with talent?! Oh everything , coz Lea herself experienced it first hand..I watched her story about " the song that changed my life" and she said they don't want to see her coz she's Asian ! And to think she already won a freaking tony award..

Lea’s costume changes here were very smooth, you would think that there’s really magic going on.
