    I mean the reason why Konami does it cause it works. Why fix something that's not broken? Konami has zero interest of making the game cheaper cause of the current economic situation. Nor should the playerbase care what terrible product they release. What will happen is ROTA comes out people will buy the booster and comp players will get the singles and nothing will change. Cya when they screw up in either bonanza or Supreme Darkness and we do the same song and dance again.

    Can't get more mad at Konami than you do the community that keeps eating up the product. Gotta put the focus on the fact that players are not talking with their wallet. The moment these sets start failing like the side sets do, then Konami will consider change.

      Even if players stopped, OTS stores need to purchase the newest packs to entice players to come in to locals. This would just lead to OTS stores holding the bag that nobody wants to buy and then force them to stop supporting organised play of the game to not incur more losses.

    I'll probably make a response to this this weekend but ya I am actually starting to hate this game in a big way Konami keeps printing these OP hand traps and now you are just getting bodied if you don't play the high tier decks at least 2 3 or 4 people play very high tier meta and its just so boring to face them Konami sucks I hope this winter when Malice comes out its affordable enough cause I do like my Waifus and shit.

    Funny look at legacy of destruction they made the chase cards low rarity.Legacy of destruction is the worst set value wise of the year.We are not ocg players who support the ocg no matter what and buy product hence why always get product.Yes there are things we can do better but we have already shown them if they do stuff in low rarity we arent chasing it

    cough up 300 dollars for all the copies of mini maxx c at home Konami being greedy again and the people will buy this cause there stupid buy the singles being a budget player really sucks right now I am probably going to another TCG very shortly Pokémon is so much cheaper the prizing is better and you get cash prizes.

    I quitted the game years ago, I think almost 8 years now when I realised I couldn't afford for meta competitive decks anymore and people in my local only wanted to practice for tournaments, with people who just want to have fun duels with their fun deck slowly walked away like I did. Now, I'm only a collector, getting shiny beautiful cards and perhaps completing my Heroes deck for personal hobby. I don't think I would ever return to this game, at least when I wrote this comment.

    If people boycotted enough & stopped buying product Im sure we could get the OCG model for rarities.
    The OCG is doing just fine over there & I think was top 3 in revenue for card games the last year?
    Im sure the TCG would be just fine adopting that model but people don't want to boycott because of FOMO.
    Eventually the dam will break tho & Konami will either change for the better or the game dies.
    I reckon they'd sell more product too if these meta cards were more attainable because casuals/budget players would actually buy (more) packs or even a box. Then theyd have high rarites still for collectors/people who max rarity decks.
    Its just sad. This is supposed to be a hobby for people to enjoy but how is it enjoyable when you have to spend $300+ on a handful of cards just to stay competitive or play a cool archtype?
    Not to mention they market this game to kids! How can kids afford this when people with full time jobs are priced out of the game?

  • @godone3699
    @godone3699 10 часов назад

  • @hasmond6808

    I think the problem is that there's a hyper focus on meta and getting the best cards.
    Magic used to have a similar problem but the community started an alternative format called "commander" that helped make decks much cheaper for the playerbase.
    Maybe we can try something like that in yugioh? Ban the strongest/most expensive cards and have a fan format that's easily accessible.

    Look at the OCG population? I'd like to think supply and demand factors into the lower cost. The US having the kind of credit system they have and being notoriously capitalist means they get the shit end of the stick.

    • @SageTigerStar
      @SageTigerStar 17 часов назад

      supply and demand has no impact on in-set rarity bumps. If it's a meta-defining card and they get it as a rare or a super, that's cool. Why not make it a rare or super for us? It's because they know they'll make more money off the set by fanatics who see the complaints in the community, but they don't care as long as they win. Even If the top players in the game said they won't buy the new meta cards, then a vast number of people would think "NOW'S MY CHANCE TO BECOME A CHAMP" and still buy the product that's being boycotted in hopes of topping. There's no chance of changing anything because people are meta-zombies.

    • @DReppin2009
      @DReppin2009 16 часов назад

      @@SageTigerStar if you sell more of something, you make more profit. OCG total sales probably triple what they sell in the TCG by the sheer fact that they sell more cards. They can afford to have those cards at lower rarities and more accessible because more people need it. Imagine if Konami applied the same ratios in China? They would've been out of the card biz by now. The only reason it flies in the TCG is because the hard-core players are 5x less. Konami know they can do scummy business with the set ratios here which keeps the secondary market alive. If all the cards were easily accessible, sites like tcgplayer wouldn't be as prevalent. OTS stores would still thrive but third party selling would be non existent. It's capitalism, plain and simple.

    • @SageTigerStar
      @SageTigerStar 15 часов назад

      @@DReppin2009 imagine having like 7 different rarities of the same card in a set in one country and only 1 (high rarity) in another and saying "they're cheaper because more people need them in OCG". Not even, bro. XD

    • @WhyPhoenix
      @WhyPhoenix 14 часов назад

      @DReppin2009 I've been saying this and when they don't have chase cards we simply do not buy product.Ocg players literally support even if the set is not meta.We only buy sets if it's profitable so we are in a paradox we create ourselves.We should of shown that we would buy a product when chase cards are low rarity but we didn't but we bought infinite forbidden with higher rarity cards

    • @DReppin2009
      @DReppin2009 13 часов назад

      @@WhyPhoenix sadly we don't really have a choice. OCG after market isn't as diverse and it doesn't have to be because their sets are more balanced ratio wise. It's corporate greed plain and simple. Konami do what they do in the West because they can. It won't stop until we as a collective stop giving them money but that won't happen.

    tough call.. yes its really expensive, but on the other hand... If someone could not afford to build a 500 bucks deck per year, i think its the wrong hobby. every hobby can be, or is expensive. Why should yugioh be different? Yeah í´m not stubborn, even people with lower budgets should play... But do a budget player really need mulcharmy? or engraver? yugioh has plenty of different decks available.
    Its not that i´m ok with the TCG and how konami treats us, but not every player needs these high end cards. Only a short amount of people are playing competitive in comparision to all casual players. Do i wish that we should have the OCG rarities? Absolutely! But on the other hand, this is a hobby. And a hobby costs money.

      If you call essential cards already high end cards just to play the game in it’s current state…
      Yeah people can literally buy advantages when they spend more money, not just rarity bumps. And in comparison to other TCG games this is simply a ripoff. You can’t justify 500€/year of card board (+ potential travel expenses) for a card game. Even if someone who is making 6-figures, it still will be hard to justify compared other hobbies.
      In the end of the day there will be always the 5% of players who are willing to pay any price just to get an advantage.

    • @invertbrid

      Hobby eh? Meanwhile OCG can play same hobby with less than 1/5 price lol, maybe even more.
      Sure their living cost is much lower than TCG but is it like 5-10x more expensive? Fuwaros is like $10 in OCG, tho now raise bit more, but TCG fuwaros atm is at $150+.
