Way to Go Judge. Congrats on the American League most valuable player award after historic season. Best of luck on your continue journey to being the best player of all time. Can't wait to see what in store for you next.
28 vs 2 first place votes. Knew Judge gonna win but what a disrespectful result to Ohtani. Let's be honest, we never had 15W 30HR 200k player ever. 62HR was historic too but people seem to take two ways for granted after seeing it back to back.
They kept saying as if only Judge was having historic season, which was so disappointing. Nobody knows how difficult it is to do both at the Major League level. Judge was incredible but it’s unfair that you need support from your teammates to win MVP. I just can’t believe Shohei didn’t win any award this year…
I honestly don't think Ohtani would have even won it last year if he went up against Judge this year. If Ohtani is going to get beat out then it had to be to a season like Judge had.
I have great respect for Judge, who is an outstanding player. But Ohtani was every bit as deserving of this award and a strong case can be made he was the MOST deserving. The guy was an outstanding everyday player PLUS won 15 games as a starting pitcher. The guy achieved something not done since the days of Babe Ruth ninety years ago. Practically NOBODY does both, especially at that level of proficiency. A total joke that he only received a couple of first place votes.
Why Shohei hasn’t been that great of a player if any at all. Aaron judge deserves the credit because he is the best in the business today. According to my sources John Middleton plans on signing Aaron Judge to a massive contract line over 12 years worth about $330 million to play with the Phillies now that Bryce Harper is out with that elbow injury for quite a while.
@@fredreed2001 Shohei hasn't been that great a player?! LOL. Are you frigging out of your mind?! Which planet are you from?! Don't repeat it too often or better still delete your post otherwise people will mock you to death. 2nd in AL MVP and 4th in Cy Young (should have been 3rd given his stats is better than Alek Manoah). $330 mil for 12 years for Judge? So, that is $27.5 mil per year. Shohei will beat that easily. He is already on $30 mil next year and that is before he gets his big contract. Shohei's annual salary after next year will be pushing $50 mil per year.
We can agree what Judge did was great breaking the AL record by one, and hit 3 more home runs of Stantons 59 just four years ago, but what Shohei Ohtani has done is twice as spactacular & awesome, to Dominate Pitching & Hitting, was on another level that will never be done again in another 100 years ⚾️
@@obiedonald3652 Yeah we looked at the numbers. No one has Ohtani's numbers. Judge can never pitch a 2.33 ERA with 219 strikeouts and Verlander can never bat .273 with 160 hits and 34 homeruns (46 homeruns last year). Shohei is the only one on the planet that can do both.
Ohtani can't bring his team to even touch the playoffs. Judge did, and also completely clears Ohtani in every single offensive stat. It may upset you, but Ohtani definitely wasn't the MVP this year lol
@Langley H yo casual, baseball is a team sport. Judge didn't bring the Yankees to the playoffs alone. Or by your logic, Judge should take ALL the responsibility for Yankees failure in the playoffs because he sucks so badly. Think before you immortalize your dumb takes on the internet.

Crazy that someone who isn't a "casual" like yourself wouldn't know this, lmao. And sure, Judge played bad in the playoffs but what were Ohtani's postseason stats? Oh wait...
Altuve deserved the 2017. Judge had a great year also, but Altuve hit almost .350 with 24 homers, 32 steals, 112 runs, 80+ RBIs from the leadoff spot while playing gold glove level defense at a premium position compiling 7.8 WAR. Judge was great also with 52 Homers, 128 Runs 114 RBIs and a 7.2 WAR, but there is a reason 27 of 30 voters voted for Altuve for first place. He had a better year period. This year Judge put up a WAR over 10. It's a no brainer this year.
It’s easy to be an MVP if you’re on the Yankees. Cuz we all know east coast bias is real and all those writers get kickbacks from the Yankees. Real MVP is Ohtani. 30+ hrs, sub 3 era, 15 wins (should have had at least 18 if he wasn’t on the angels). They keep knocking on Ohtani because he’s on the a bad team. If he was ok a good team…he’d have even better numbers. What did judge do? He knocked in 121 RBIs. Wow what an accomplishment - even tho someone in each league does it every year.
