This snippet is great even when read 2 years after posting. I just love the simplicity of teaching, the wonderful contrasts but drawn by the Master Himself - that all creation was spoken into existence, but the major difference that sets us apart from birds, elephants, lions, etc, was that God actually breathed the breath of life into our nostrils. As one commentator pleased once, said imagine the very day God and Adam saw each other, imagine God saying “Hello Adam” and Adam saying “Hello Dad”.. I recall viewing a dead relative’s body at the mortuary and thinking about this: that the breath has left, relatives crying, a funeral wake, the burial…. none of that for any animal. Why? Because you and I have been born for the highest price, the blood of Jesus Christ

Many people miss Gen. 2:19 which says that God created the animals from the dust of the ground, just as he did with Adam. It wasn't "How" he created us that makes us special, it's "Why" he created us that makes us unique.
