3v is a great steel but it doesnt have that great of edge retention, its a lil higher than s30v in that department. What makes it a super steel is its toughness, it has around 3 times the toughness of s30 and 4 times of s90v. Thats why you can chop through a cinder block with it(see smokeeater 908 for that). What I want to get is cpm 9v, almost the same edge retention as s90v and same toughness as 3v, talk about a super steel.
