Do they have to pay for conducting business at the location where they park? Are they required by law to pay the landowner or event organizer? Or, because it's just a car, do they not have to share their profits with big event organizers, parks, government, companies, or private landowners, or seek permission to park in a particular location?

Anyway you look at this, sales (gross vs net) , initial capital expenses, costs of foods & operating, etc etc. It's not anything easy, some weeks you don't even pay yourself for working 6 days.....
Time, creativity and most importantly, capital. The reason so many ppl fail to ever start their own business is because of startup costs. With better public investment, this hindrance could be reduced and more people could open their own small businesses. Food truck regulations also need to be severely scaled back. It's ridiculous.

As a person who came verrrrry close to getting my own food trailer, I applaud these 2 and wish them the best! That being said...I have done extensive research and I am still studying about the mobile food industry but I have to say that I see A LOT of red flags here! 1st and as others have mentioned, those pies need to be cooked more. 2nd. No offense intended but that logo (which likely had a lot of thought put into it) is just terrible and disadvantageous to selling pizza. Think about putting a graphic or image of your best pizza ALL over the van or there are also wraps you can design yourself for the whole van.
I agree with the logo. It resembles a gardening company. Your suggestion is constructive and correct. Hire a good designer to create an image that, together with the aroma of the pizzas, makes it impossible not to want to eat one of their pizzas.
You say the first sentence as is has any meaning or gives you any authority at all. I actually, deadass, feel bad for you because you have a mindset that is incongruent with what you’ve actually done in life.
They have to charge $17 to make any money. I don't believe they are making $20,000 a month. They only have one oven, one warmer, and 7 pizza racks. At max, they can make 6 pizzas an hour or 60 for 10 hour day. Most likely they are only selling half of that or 30 pizza and making $410 a day on a good day. If they sold for less, it wouldn't be worth the time. However, at $17 for a small pizza, you are going to have a hard time finding customers. You will be out driving all the high end office buildings where most of this type of customer will be found. With a low customer base and all the driving, they probably sell only 20 pizzas a day. So $340/day x 20 days = $6800/month The supplies are likely $1000/month. The van depreciation is $1000/month and Equipment about $500/month and taxes another $800/month. They are probably bringing in around $3000/month or $360000/year. Which is like $45,000 gross for a normal job. And that is between 2 people working that full time.

try incorporating chopped hot peppers into the dough. great job, and I'm sure you'll both be successful, together! buona fortuna. How's the overnight secure parking situation for the vehicle & equipment? No problems?? yeah...buona fortuna ! :-) Calzone is my favorite.
Lol... Notice how they want everything in the vehicle to be electric so that they appear environmentally friendly... Except that generator which powers all that electricity is a diesel engine.... Lmao
They should combine their bussiness with internet delivery. Their sells will be bigger. Should conteplate electric cargo bicycle (or simple trailer) as a platform for another "foodtruck". BTW, when you have the ingredience source(s) secured, you should offer franchising.

Anyway you look at this, sales (gross vs net) , initial capital expenses, costs of foods & operating, etc etc. It's not anything easy, some weeks you don't even pay yourself for working 6 days.....
how much was your oven and how wide is it inside ? ty great lookin van bro
He says the price in the video.
7000 . I would have used a wood fired Grozny . I would have riigged it so it slided outside of the truck
@@FredMas-gt2uh I would have used the Grozny 9910-C134.564-001. Best model available.
Time, creativity and most importantly, capital. The reason so many ppl fail to ever start their own business is because of startup costs. With better public investment, this hindrance could be reduced and more people could open their own small businesses.
Food truck regulations also need to be severely scaled back. It's ridiculous.
If I see ya around, I'll try you out...😊
I will need to hit them up when in GR next time
What state are you located
Michigan
Great interview! Questions-
What model van do they have?
What type of pizza oven?
Their van looks like a Ford Transit 250 high roof. Same van a lot of Amazon delivery drivers use.
I'm not certain on the oven, but it looks like a PizzaMaster PM401ED-1.
@@jonathonyeary509 thank you!! 😊
@@jonathonyeary509 Do they have to pay for conducting business at the location where they park? Are they required by law to pay the landowner or event organizer? Or, because it's just a car, do they not have to share their profits with big event organizers, parks, government, companies, or private landowners, or seek permission to park in a particular location?
Whats the model of the pizza oven they are using? Looks like a countertop
They mentioned it in the video like 30 times.
@@williamboyle8918 the actual model number?
Churches have events too
Exactly! they should do communion pizza too, and the size of a dollar coin...
Why the leafs….basil?
Do you guys have a home kitchen
I love your truck! What a great idea 💚 just a word of encouragement.... Teagan needs to act like she's enjoying herself. Standing there looking like she's pissed off during this interview doesn't make me want to purchase their products. But overall a great execution of your food truck.
What size are the pizzas? 10? 12 inch?
35ft
Sauce at room temperature? 😮
That's a health violation everywhere i've worked in pizza

As a person who came verrrrry close to getting my own food trailer, I applaud these 2 and wish them the best! That being said...I have done extensive research and I am still studying about the mobile food industry but I have to say that I see A LOT of red flags here!
1st and as others have mentioned, those pies need to be cooked more. 2nd. No offense intended but that logo (which likely had a lot of thought put into it) is just terrible and disadvantageous to selling pizza. Think about putting a graphic or image of your best pizza ALL over the van or there are also wraps you can design yourself for the whole van.
idk I like the logo a lot
I agree with the logo. It resembles a gardening company. Your suggestion is constructive and correct. Hire a good designer to create an image that, together with the aroma of the pizzas, makes it impossible not to want to eat one of their pizzas.
You say the first sentence as is has any meaning or gives you any authority at all. I actually, deadass, feel bad for you because you have a mindset that is incongruent with what you’ve actually done in life.
What is the pizza maker oven
Pizza master. They are 10k+ even for the small ones
PizzaMaster 80 different models
Blaze on kids! Good Job!
Keep it up guys🍕🍕
Ouch. $17 for a tiny pizza, I would need 4 to fill me up. $68 meal 😵
Ozempic for you 😂
They have to charge $17 to make any money.
So $340/day x 20 days = $6800/month
The supplies are likely $1000/month. The van depreciation is $1000/month and Equipment about $500/month and taxes another $800/month. They are probably bringing in around $3000/month or $360000/year. Which is like $45,000 gross for a normal job. And that is between 2 people working that full time.
@@kevinerose Yeah this whole story doesn't pass the sniff test.
Why do you need to eat FOUR pizza’s…you sound super greedy.
4 of those pizzas ... How BIG are you?
Those are not little pizza...
I would not brag that you can eat 4 of them...
has segment titled "how much the van costs'.... have almost no information regarding the cost of the van.
*eyeroll*
We try to get as much info as possible. Some businesses share certain things and some don't.
Who’s she? The cats mother? 😂
Where is your location?
Grand Rapids, Michigan
How about a picture of pizza instead of a leaf on the truck 😅
yeah, that was so lame.
This is tight.
Money money money, but can you cook? Well done guys
If only they could fit a Mallagutti oven in that van. It could be Naples on wheels. They should invest in a trailer 😂
why pay almost 20k for an oven when my family builds them for half the price.
@@KidneySafeMeals more like 40 - 60k lol.
Restaurants have to use approved sources that are licensed/certified and have to jump thru lots of hoops of inspections and paperwork.
The guy doesn’t even let the girl talk and you can tell she wants to say something. And he makes it seem like he’s doing everything. And you undercooked that pizza my guy
14:30 that pizza needed at least another minute in the oven. Your electric oven can reach 800 degrees, no excuses.
try incorporating chopped hot peppers into the dough. great job, and I'm sure you'll both be successful, together! buona fortuna. I hate the noisy generators some food trucks run, so if you can avoid that??? Like some add-on sound panels! Why not use a cool-lookin' small trailer, too, for extra stuff & generator? How's the overnight secure parking situation for the vehicle & equipment? No problems?? yeah...buona fortuna ! :-) Calzone is my favorite.
Lol... Notice how they want everything in the vehicle to be electric so that they appear environmentally friendly... Except that generator which powers all that electricity is a diesel engine.... Lmao
They should combine their bussiness with internet delivery. Their sells will be bigger. Should conteplate electric cargo bicycle (or simple trailer) as a platform for another "foodtruck". BTW, when you have the ingredience source(s) secured, you should offer franchising.
you have no idea what you're talking about
yes , add pictures of your pizzas on your truck , that way customers know what the pizza looks like, of that kind.
Is that Cheryl Hines daughter? 😂
They’re doing it Right just a real Italian Made Pizza Forno and it’s game over it’s would give their pies the edge the Pizza needs
i couldnt help but keep thinking he had a cheetos thumb
Need pics on your food truck. Not just on yelp or google etc. My wife’s family owns Thai food carts. You would be surprised how many customers will pass up a food cart with out food pics posted.
And if there’s colleges in your town I’d get a permit to go sit there as well cause you’d make a ton of pizza at colleges universities not just bars and other liquor-based places.. I’d put flyers at universities and colleges because kids want affordable food and your food looks great so you’d win every which way I check out University Inn colleges and go sit there as well not just in one specific spot
