- Join Brad from Audio T as he caught up Rega Founder, Roy Gandy, at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2023. They chat about engineering, violins and the all new Naia turntable!
Rega Research is a company that enjoys being different. Never one to sheepishly follow convention, it stands almost completely alone among major hi-fi companies in its commitment to UK manufacturing. Rega products are proud to be British, from the casework, to the electronics housed inside, design and through to manufacture. Rega’s aim is, and always has been, to make high quality products that faithfully and reliably reproduce music for sensible prices. From the very first turntable Rega produced back in 1973 to the current range of CD players, amplifiers, turntables, loudspeakers and accessories, it has always embraced new ideas and thinking, resulting in musical performance that goes beyond the norm.
Expect many more new and exciting products to be added to their product line up.

Love Roy, fascinating man could listen to him all day. Love Rega too.
Rega has to be the best British hifi manufacturer as always like to be different
Thanks for watching @chrisclose7793 😊 I have to agree with you. Rega are certainly one of the best out there👍🏻 All the best, Brad - Audio T
Great interview !!… 😊. Love what Rega do and that Naia is something else !
Hi @RiaTolstoy, Thanks for taking the time to watch the video. You'll be pleased to know that Roy has invited us down to the factory later in the year to shoot a factory tour 😊 So keep your eyes peeled! All the best - Audio T
You would never look at a Rega after listening to the Technics SL 1200 G. It's at a different level.
Great video. Enjoyed that! Roy's the genuine article!
Thanks very much @markymarkvinylnut1 😊 He's a great guys and look forward to catching up with him later in the year at the factory. Thanks again for watching. All the best, Brad - Audio T
Genuine article with a few odd ideas, like do not clean your records is his classic.
Love that Rega guy’s mentality and skills.
He has an amazing outlook on the staff they hire. They don't need to be professionally trained in engineering, just to have a true passion for it. He oozes cool! 😎
All you need is a intelligence and an open mind. I’m developing a hifi accessory product but have no technical background related to hifi.
@@Coneman3 You hit the nail on the head there!
All the best Roy with the violins
The legend mr Grundy.
The Rega Naia is incredible !!..👍👍
My dream come true...I will buy it one day, that's for sure !!
SL 1200 g .
Technics sl 1200G have the same sound as the Audio Technica AT-LP5X, but not the same price...😊
Stunning !!!! Still hoping that prices in the USA vs are more in line with the rest of the world... From my experience, there is easily a 40% premium for an identical table bought in the USA vs the EU or Asia !!! SIGH.....
Good energy
Thanks for watching @josefserf7315. All the best, Brad - Audio T
I'm listening to a planer2 at the
moment and its performance level
At this price is incredible
We find that all the Planar turntables perform well beyond their price-point! 😁
It would have been nice if the interviewer would have looked at Roy Gandy when they talked. He’s facing forward and it just looks impolite to me,
Hi @ericlubow4354, Thanks for taking the time to watch the video 😊 What you can't see out of frame is how busy the room was, and how close I've had to squeeze up to Roy 😅 I promise that when I go to the factory later in the year for a full interview, there will be unencumbered eye-contact between myself and Roy! All the best, Brad - Audio T
One must ask permission to look into the eyes of such greatness. He must have not asked him.
@@anthonyfender72 🤣🤣🤣
Is the Lord Of The Rings perspective intentional...?
Hey @Kowindaida, I love the description of "Lord of the Rings perspective" 😅 We did have to use a wide-angle as it was a very busy room and Roy and myself were pushed back against the wall. Hope it didn't deter from the interview too much? Thanks for watching. All the best, Brad - Audio T
Did Roy play with Small Faces?
Hi @View52 - We were too busy chatting to play any music! 😅 Thanks for watching. All the best - Audio T
Thought this was about The Bristol HiFi show 2023
Hi @cryptobusinessnames, This was a product launch at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2023, and filmed there too 😊 But as I wasn't expecting to bump in to Roy, I had to take the opportunity to discuss other things going on 😅 Thanks for watching. All the best, Brad - Audio T
Ok well I'll question some mythology for you! The Rega Elex, the latest incarnation of which is mk4, is just not that great an amplifier that all the Rega fanboys seem to say it is. It's safe and even a little dull. So put that in your mythology questioning pipe!
Hey @robermarshall7712, the beauty of Hi-Fi is that there is no right or wrong answers. Everyone has different tastes and opinions. The Elex series have won multiple awards and are favoured amplifiers by many enthusiasts and music lovers, so they must be doing something right 😊 Thanks for watching. All the best - Brad, Audio T
Full marks for Roy Gandy putting up with that interviewer. What a ….!
Hi @Mrgreekbeek, sorry to hear you didn't enjoy my interviewing. Be sure to get in touch and I'll refund your subscription 😉 All the best - Brad, Audio T
Is he small or the interviewer got the biggest head in the world
When the uneducated interview the educated!
Hi @scottstephen3125, Thank you for taking the time to watch our video. I'm sorry that my Degree in Music Production doesn't meet your requirements. Perhaps I'll do a Masters next 😉 All the best - Brad, Audio T
@@audiot You got me there... No comeback!
Rega design is boring
Hey @Paulomontero12, I guess they must be doing something right with how popular they've been over the decades 😅 What's your ideal turntable? Thanks for watching - Brad, Audio T
