"With its substantially enhanced graphics and more flexible twin-stick control setup, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is undoubtedly the definitive version of Luigi’s second apparition-filled adventure. If you’re a newcomer to the series - or perhaps you only came onboard with Luigi’s Mansion 3 and are working your way backwards - then there’s plenty of ghostbusting and puzzle-solving fun for you to find in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD’s five haunted houses. However, if you’re a fan of the original Nintendo 3DS version and you were hoping for more dramatic gameplay changes or additions, then you may well be a touch disappointed. What’s more, playing this remaster in the wake of the third game may put its limitations in an unfavourable light. All told, though, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is a great installment in Nintendo’s spectre-snaring series, even if it’s not the best one you can play on the Switch."

According to the wiki, it was called Thrilltower in the European and Australian versions.

Nintendo games almost never drop in price. Zelda Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey are still full price. Best you can hope for is to buy used if you want a price drop.

@@03chrisv You just mentioned ever green titles. This game will be $39.00 by holiday or the next Mario day. Even then odyssey gets dropped to $40 here and there. This game will definitely be dropped down in price many times.

It pretty much broke even at the box office
$200 million globally on an estimated budget of $75 -$100 million so it did pretty well.
These games are so damn gorgeous and charming. 3 is about as close to playing a Pixar video game as you can come. Perfect pacing and game length. Too bad the price point is so high and it is a barebones re-release.
Hope this is all a setup for the 4th one to be announced

They kept Charles by reusing his voice clips from the original on 3DS.
They used Charles. This was confirmed back in August of last year.
It would actually be more expensive and time consuming to completely redo the voice clips and have Kevin re-record literally ALL the voice lines for the many, many cutscenes. Why do that when all of Charles’s are already available?

The games are still great, but the originals run at 20 FPS, have laggy menus, lack free camera, and have very dated texture work. We could also use d-pad equipping for items such as masks in Majora’s Mask, or the iron boots in OOT. Simply porting over enhanced versions of the 3D remakes would solve a great number of these issues. Majora’s Mask 3D could definitely use tweaks similar to those in project restoration, however.
It’s inexcusable that we still don’t have widely available HD versions of these games, decades after their release. Games preservation is important, and Nintendo still seems to care about physical media. Fans have been begging for HD Switch ports of MM, OOT, TP, and WW for years now.

It's an 8/10, great if you haven't played Dark Moon on the 3DS, but disappointing that they haven't added anything new to make it worth $60 besides improved resolution, better visuals, remodeled assets, and at 30 FPS, just like with the other two games in the series if you played the original 3DS version.
Nintendo fan clamoring to buy old games at full price. New IPs? Nah just give me Mario remastered remake definitive edition rerelease for full price. Throw in a set of cardboard too.

It would have been better if Gooigi was in this game so it could be a co-op game as well since Gooigi was 1st introduced in Luigi's Mansion 1 for the 3ds and was also created somewhere in Dark Moon when Egad made a mistake. And that what made Egad to send Gooigi to Past Egad to do some experiments on him. They could have expended Gooigi's lore on him but its a missed opportunity.

Imo Luigi’s mansion 2 is better on the 3ds because of the vibes playing on it and the old graphics fit the aesthetic but if you don’t have it on the 3ds then it’s worth it
