Hi! This style of skating has never existed in Japan. It's been a long time since the video, but I'm going to imitate your information and try DIY. Thank you!
I used an old skateboard wheel as others have suggested. Also covered the stick in 3M carbon-look tape i had lying around and then added two white tennis racket grips, one for each hand. People were stopping me to ask what it is and where'd i get it.
Stand up paddle boarding is more of a full body workout than just longboarding. It works mostly your upper body while engaging your core and lower body for balance. People that never ride long boards also feel very comfortable when using a land paddling stick on a longboard so it makes more people able to land paddle than just plain long board. Hope this answers your question!
Yeah, yeah,; but great longboard cruising and leg kicking is whole body too, even though I use the same left leg, as a right-handed person :? so... debate; :) i think i need to help control my speed, and with it will come all those extras, but I dont want it to kick :D I'm also a goofy stance, so i'd practice my other stance with this stick :D
Nice idea, thank you. I build it and used a bamboo stick instead of a wooden one. But I have a problem with the tennis ball. When I'm pushing, it often slips away from the street. That does not feel comfortable. I'll try to replace it with a ball that ist made of solid rubber. Maybe that will help.
I use a 6 foot aluminum pole normally used for cleaning pools. Light and very strong. Nothing on the bottom, the metal actually grips into the asphalt well enough. I will probably fork out the $100 for a more flexible rattan pole with a kong ball. I still do a lot of pushing without the pole, especially uphill. The big pole works great as a deterrent when dogs come chasing. I used it to fend off a pit bull recently. Or poking the kid (who commented below) when he calls me lazy for paddling
The tennis ball did not last as long as it should. I don't know if a lacrosse ball would work any better but a hockey puck may work wonderfully! Let me know if you try to make your own land paddling stick!
I wore through a tennis ball just going around the block. Also, a tennis ball on the top would make a comfortable handle to get a good grip on the top. Maybe a racquetball or one of the Kong dog toys on the bottom would be more durable. Otherwise it worked well enough for me to decide to buy one.
i can only ride goofy and sometimes use my board to commute long distances (20+ miles), this KILLS my leg. i made one with a PVC bow so that it can compress and push off FAST, it is WAY more effecient
😂😂😂😂 please be cautious when using this make-your-own-land paddle technique. It is recommended to invest in a high-quality land paddle to ensure your safety. If you choose to follow this tip and end up getting injured due to a stick breaking or gouging you, and to the author of this post, be careful since individuals today tend to take legal action against others when something happens. 😮
Bryan BB005 if your using a paddle drag it behind you while pushing down the stick and it will stop you or make wide turns left and right until your slow enough to comfortable go slightly uphill

Great work!
Thank you!!
A tennis ball on the top is great, i have one on my stick. I have also surround the second ball with a piece of tire for more grip.

Let me know what works best for you! Good luck!

I build one.. and I felt very uncomfortable.. it feels weird but you just have to get used to it.. I think this will be a great workout in the end :)
I like the tennis ball idea :)
Going to attempt this with a bamboo stick
Let me know how it goes!
@Caelin Bruce I glued a solid piece of wood into the bamboo that fits perfectly into the last section. The bamboo will not start to split then
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah. At first it kind of pushes you to whatever side you are paddling on but soon you will get used to it! I hope you enjoy!
I like the song at the beginning...
Me too
How long does the tennis ball last? I have some lacrosse balls and hockey pucks laying around that could last longer.

have you tried the hockey puck ?

An aluminum pole seems like a great idea!
Has the kid who thinks paddling a longboard is lazy tried it? It's way more work paddling than pushing...

tennis balls dont last long. use a lacrosse ball, kevlar or some old skate wheels.
Hey where do you buy the pole wood ???
Home depot or lowes
Wood glue in a tennis ball why just why
Gorilla glue worked better
super video!
you need grip take for the other hand
good job, thanks :)

what's the best way to go downhill and stop

YEAH! :D
Great way to make a street paddle! Check out our signature line

why not just push normally? :|
Looks slower
cool video. what about a T grip? lol you should warn people to be careful when cutting up the tennis ball :o
Do yourself a favor now. Stop DIYing, its not a strong point.
Use a old skateboard wheel as a push head kook!
Thanks for the tip!
You should use better glue. Elmer's is children's glue for arts & crafts. It's crap.
