Awesome! I have enjoyed seeing this truck get built from the ground up. It's great to see the updates. I look forward to the next one every time. That's what makes RUclips so great. I don't know why some people have to be so negative. That kind of attitude makes me think they don't understand how much time and effort it takes to build something like this from scratch. It's people like rcWizzard that keep the hobby alive.
First Ive seen of this rig , oh-my-gawd it's incredible , superb craftsmanship all around . I guess I can write of most of today as Ill be going back and watching these videos .....my hat's off to you sir , you've got serious talent .
What your doing here is engineering at its finest. Making something from scratch, finding and solving problems. It's all a trial and error process in a way. The belt should have worked I think, but I'll have to wait till the next video to find out what the actual problem is. Keep up the great work, I really enjoy seeing people do things like this, not only is it interesting, but inspiring at the same time.
Dude I just love your build videos doesn't matter wot you build you will always have teething problems that's the fun of perfection can't wait to see the next one great work
This is incredible. My only dream is to one day make enough money to convince you to sell the finished product. The child that grew up on monster trucks in me needs to see this truck finished, and the adult needs to see it tear up some dirt. Godspeed.
It's an incredible build for sure, but with 4WD and a geared transfer case it would be over the top...that engine is insane, I'd love to see all 4 wheels slinging dirt!!....
i get so excited when a new video comes out. i can't wait to see this hauling ass around your yard rcWizzard! keep up the good work! wish i had the money and genius to do something half as awesome as this!
So lets see some videos of what You've built right the first time!! The builder of the transfer case recommended the belt drive. Thanks for your comment,,,,, my friend.
That is AWESOME! I can't believe that it could actually exist! I would love to see it in person. I'm hoping you have some good luck in getting the drivetrain working perfectly. My best to you!
with all the 1/5th rc cars out there im sure you could mod a trans from one or use the gears to make it work. the belt idea will not last if you get it to work. but you made one badass rc truck. i cant wait to see it done and rippin around the yard. good luck geting it fixed.
iv been with you ever since you stared. and what i have to say is very nice now fix it up.. i wanna see this thing mulch your yard... i can beleave you made all of this by hand.. very very good job
gee that motor sounds sweet!! and a blower too...wow!! smaller venturis in the carb's throat eh? hmm... TC? well, one step at a time... getting it right is better than rushing... Looking forward to the next installment.
Man I can't wait to see this thing on the ground running under its own power. Thus is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. How you're planning on bringing it to Digger's Dungeon this year for RC World Finals. I'm planning on finally making the trip this year and would love to see this thing in person. Keep up the good work man!
hello beautiful piece of work. I have been following your progress since part 1.If I may suggest a "CVT"belt drivesetup it would be easy tofabricate as well as some both on you and the stinger not too mention i think you fit in in your current set up you get an example of what i am talking about by checking into pocketbikes w/
Because I'm passionate about my hobby. Upset, no, frustrated yes. But these issues add to the challenge of the project of figuring out what's needed to accomplish my goal. That's what Scratch Building is all about.
Nope, still have the original belt, has not shred or broken. It was lose set screws on the joint on top of the transfer case. I tightened them up and was back in business, check out the next video.
now that is a bad ass machine! i hope to see the belt drive problem get fixed up good. i remember seeing a video you made with a different motor and you were throttling it manualy. watching the front end raise from the torque was very cool. watching it damn near hang a wheely from its pertch was insane. lol, reguardless of a burnt up belt, you got my thumbs up!!!!
Yes, the "H" in the "SCH" is for the High Lift Cam, that's what gives that "Sound"!!. Regardless of what exhaust it has. Tell Gary the rcWizzard sent you :-) . Do you plan on installing it in a vehicle?
Yo man the is a fine piece of engineering there at least you have got your engine working and stuff and nice to see that you changed the front axel for a round one instead of the big one :D she loooks nice dont worry you will fix her up soon she will eventualy run perfect :D no transfer issues etc :D .
Sweet! Could you use some type of cable instead of belts or chains? What about actual gears to get your ratios correct? Could you machine them just like you did on the rear end?
My engine is from the first batch, I think it's the 4th or 5th engine he shipped out. Yes the tubes are an improvement, they help vent the crank case, just like a real engine. My more recent videos show them.
Have you looked into possibly building a smaller gear drive transfer case kind of like the gear drive timing sets for full size motors? It looks to me like that motor might be making too much power for your drivetrain
I really need to address this question Globally. You must realize this is a one of a kind project. Not something you can get from a local Hobby shop. 4WD is a Major modification. The rear axle took 100+ hours to design and fabricate. A drive and steering axle would take Many more hours to make. So for for now It will remain a 2WD truck.
You had my hopes up, I was hoping that we were going to see this baby moving around your yard. But it's ok, be so much sweeter when you have it all worked out. :)
I find you and your crafts mighty interesting, respectable, and very likeable to say the least. I do alot of fabrication work for full size cars but I've yet to try something of this sort (fabricating miniature replica's to the point of pint sized legitimate V8's). I might want to try something like this out. Thanks for the light! haha!
I build engines and race cars for a living. I have a machinist i can speak with at any given moment. When you set your mind to it, anything can be done. Thats why i said what i did. You have done SO much so far, i think you can get a chain drive done up in no time.
Beautiful truck and sounds great! Have you considered putting a radiator in? I bet a small heater core or computer radiator would fit nicely and can be made to look realistic enough with the body on it. Heck, with an extra battery, you could probably even mount a fan on that rad. Just a thought.
I am sure this has been asked but is Dennis Anderson following this project? Since his shop is only about 4 hrs from your home in Fredericksburg he has got to see this when all finished!
A radiator that would fit on the truck would only hold 10 to 15 oz of water, these tanks hold 95 oz. The tanks feel hot, dissipating the heat, but the water coming out is luke warm.
how much horse power does it have i am in wheel chair and i would like to put one on my skooter wandering if it could brake (line lock) brake stand? anyways awesome work awesome truck!
I'm curious, (not that you don't have enough work on this bad boy) but are you going to try and put rear steer on this beast? Or would that be to much hassle for not enough pay off (with the brakes and everything else theft rear end has on it)
So the belt broke! No problem, know what I did notice?...... When the wheels where spinning, they weren't bouncing all over the place because they where out of balance. with all the taking away of material and putting back on thats a pretty amazing feat. Or did you have to balance them? Anyways great job on this monster..
Gary says the Supercharged version is 9 HP, I think more. Don't know about the torque. Check out video part FAQ for more info, also ConleyPrecision. com
ill check it out but this engine sounds so sexy haha what does it run on 2 stroke ? and how much was it to buy ? because i may be looking into the same v8 if i can get one and fit it to a custom mustang :)
@rcWizzard dont get me wrong but it would be better to run a different ratio so that you can run a chain drive so it is more reliable? I can see why a belt would be your choice but it seems that it might not like the power or heat created?
I have been following this build for years now keep up the good work we are getting so close to seeing it drive.
Awesome! I have enjoyed seeing this truck get built from the ground up. It's great to see the updates. I look forward to the next one every time. That's what makes RUclips so great. the first 10 sec where worth the years I've been following! can't wait to see it go!
Dude I just love your build videos doesn't matter wot you build you will always have teething problems that's the fun of perfection can't wait to see the next one great work
My jaw is dropped, after watching this for months I finally get to see it running. NICE.
Absolutely awesome! That is the coolest thing I've seen in a while. I will be following the build.
I been watching this series for months. Love seeing that engine come to life finally.
Well "To Be Continued" Sooner than later I hope.
What an Awesome machine.... I cant wait to see it in action!!!
Nice job!!
That is the most badass sounding RC car I have ever heard.
the crazy thing is how it sounds like a legit v8. awesome work man, definitely a solid build.
I'm officially an addict ... can't wait for the next vid. Your design and that 609 are awesome.
best start to a video EVER!! :)
each one brings us closer and closer...
thnx wizz :D
This is incredible. My only dream is to one day make enough money to convince you to sell the finished product. The child that grew up on monster trucks in me needs to see this truck finished, and the adult needs to see it tear up some dirt. Godspeed.
that thing is awesome !!!!!!! respect for saving enough money for one of these things .. they are cool
It's an incredible build for sure, but with 4WD and a geared transfer case it would be over the top...that engine is insane, I'd love to see all 4 wheels slinging dirt!!....
i get so excited when a new video comes out. i can't wait to see this hauling ass around your yard rcWizzard! keep up the good work! wish i had the money and genius to do something half as awesome as this!
keep up the great work , we love to see your problems and progress . good luck . cant wait to see it rip up some yard
So lets see some videos of what You've built right the first time!!

Thanks for your comment,,,,, my friend.
New exhaust looks awesome!!! Just started watching this. WOW!!! Very impressive work sir.
Engine sounds amazing!! Can't wait to see the truck finished.
That is AWESOME! I can't believe that it could actually exist! I would love to see it in person. I'm hoping you have some good luck in getting the drivetrain working perfectly. My best to you!
it´s cool too see it finally running hope to see it complete soon congrats man!!!
with all the 1/5th rc cars out there im sure you could mod a trans from one or use the gears to make it work. the belt idea will not last if you get it to work. but you made one badass rc truck. i cant wait to see it done and rippin around the yard. good luck geting it fixed.
jesus i've never seen such detail on a tiny engine and truck. thats insane good work man
It always a good idea to check things out before setting on the ground. It may be to heavy to wheelie. Can't wait to find out.
It looks good man, cant wait to see it finished and running with the body on it
AWW MAN!!!! This is better than a TV series!! You just get exited by watching that monster truck come to life little by little \M/>.
awesome job so far. i've been keeping up with this project of yours and i will say i am damn impressed. keep it up!!
iv been with you ever since you stared. and what i have to say is very nice now fix it up.. i wanna see this thing mulch your yard... i can beleave you made all of this by hand.. very very good job
I did look into gears and chains rather than the belt, not enough room to get a good ratio. Did you see part 23B?
words can not express how bad ass this is, very nice build guy very nice!
Looks amazing! I would love to see that thing cruising around with the body on, it would be pretty cool.
I'll wait to see what happened inside the transfer case.
What you're suggesting is very expensive.
I cannot make gears.
gee that motor sounds sweet!! and a blower too...wow!!
smaller venturis in the carb's throat eh? hmm...
TC? well, one step at a time... getting it right is better than rushing...
Looking forward to the next installment.

Looks and sounds really good, the tension builds to see it driving. Smokes like a f'ing two stroke though.
i cant get over how freaking cool that thing is
hello beautiful piece of work. To be continued ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, keep up the good work man, she sounds and looks amazing
Been a while since I watched one of your vids dude, this never fails to amaze me. Good work bud
always excited to see a new video ive been watching this since the beginning!!!
Because I'm passionate about my hobby. Upset, no, frustrated yes. But these issues add to the challenge of the project of figuring out what's needed to accomplish my goal. That's what Scratch Building is all about.
A Million and One.
Are you assuming I can simply buy a 1/4 scale monster truck front axle?
Nope, still have the original belt, has not shred or broken. It was lose set screws on the joint on top of the transfer case. I tightened them up and was back in business, check out the next video.
now that is a bad ass machine! i hope to see the belt drive problem get fixed up good. i remember seeing a video you made with a different motor and you were throttling it manualy. watching the front end raise from the torque was very cool. watching it damn near hang a wheely from its pertch was insane. lol, reguardless of a burnt up belt, you got my thumbs up!!!!

I really need to win the Lotto...
This is amazing. Keep up the great work!

no way! your the madman who would do such a thing. lol. Props to you for that. Seems your VERY close to being done and thats the cool part.
Have you looked into possibly building a smaller gear drive transfer case kind of like the gear drive timing sets for full size motors? It looks to me like that motor might be making too much power for your drivetrain

hey very nice build i saw the truck at an rc show or sumthin it was as big as a kid it looked very nice there
You had my hopes up, I was hoping that we were going to see this baby moving around your yard. But it's ok, be so much sweeter when you have it all worked out. :)
I find you and your crafts mighty interesting, respectable, and very likeable to say the least. All it takes is time, Yes! All your suggestions have to be designed/fabricated/tested!
Solid gear transfer case? You might be able to squeeze an idler gear in the middle to keep the direction the same at it is now.
Sounds AWSOME man!! Hope you get it fixed quickly.
A higher ratio, yes, but multiple gears takes more room that I don't have in this transfer case.
I build engines and race cars for a living. I have a machinist i can speak with at any given moment. When you set your mind to it, anything can be done. Thats why i said what i did. You have done SO much so far, i think you can get a chain drive done up in no time.
The 609 is 4-stroke, runs on regular pump gas. Check part FAQ for more info.
Very very nice work. I've been watching all your videos!
+Skyler Ogden Thanks Skyler!
Beautiful truck and sounds great! Have you considered putting a radiator in? I bet a small heater core or computer radiator would fit nicely and can be made to look realistic enough with the body on it. Heck, with an extra battery, you could probably even mount a fan on that rad. Just a thought.
Thanks Peter. Those radiators only hold 10 - 12 oz. The 2 water tanks hold close to 90 oz they get hot pretty quick.
I'm curious, what is it you want to check? It ends with SCH , I'd have to go check.
Yes, it has a ribbed or toothed belt.
Did you see part 23B?
I am sure this has been asked but is Dennis Anderson following this project? Since his shop is only about 4 hrs from your home in Fredericksburg he has got to see this when all finished!
Trucks looking GREAT by the way!
Looks like the belt just lost tension. Although it's probably got a bit chewed up if the belt was skipping over a few teeth on the sprocket.
No, no 1/4 scale alternator available that I know of.
I installed a separate battery for the Radio, so that helps.
It's called Having Fun with my Hobby!
good luck man, been with the build since episode 4!
You never know how hard it is until you try doing it yourself.
Thanks.
9HP. Not sure what you mean regarding "(line lock) brake stand?"
That thing is gonna be awesome!! Nice work!!
A radiator that would fit on the truck would only hold 10 to 15 oz of water, these tanks hold 95 oz. The tanks feel hot, dissipating the heat, but the water coming out is luke warm.
how much horse power does it have i am in wheel chair and i would like to put one on my skooter wandering if it could brake (line lock) brake stand? anyways awesome work awesome truck!
have you thought about changing the transfer case belt to a chain so you wont have the problem anymore of the belt brakeing?
I want to see how it runs in 2WD before spending 100 to 150 hours designing - fabricating - testing a new front axle.
What would charge to make one that would fit in my truck? It would need to be no bigger than 6x4x1.5 inches.
I love how the torque alone causes the chassis to pitch at the front. Mean as for 9HP!
I'm curious, (not that you don't have enough work on this bad boy) but are you going to try and put rear steer on this beast? Or would that be to much hassle for not enough pay off (with the brakes and everything else theft rear end has on it)
I'm guessing not but does that little trans actually shift? Great build btw, been following it for years.
Instead of a belt use a chain or is this set up as a touque converter ? Chain would work great never slip and quick engage
@rcWizzard I am assuming you didnt just simply buy any 1/4scale monster truck parts. so why stop at the front axle?
One. A shaft connected to the clutch bell comes straight out the end of the trans.
Ooops haha sory about the chain and does this engine have a scaled down transmition looks like it thats sweet and does the trany actually shift gears
Not sure if I missed the episode with the fake bead locks but I like them.
incredable!!! man does that little V8 ever bark... sweet rig.
Can you fix a small generator/alternator to keep the electrical system running?
That is a work of art long live the V8!
So the belt broke! No problem, know what I did notice?...... When the wheels where spinning, they weren't bouncing all over the place because they where out of balance. with all the taking away of material and putting back on thats a pretty amazing feat. Or did you have to balance them? Anyways great job on this monster..
@rcWizzard Makes sense. Do you do your own machine work and everything?
Gary says the Supercharged version is 9 HP, I think more. Don't know about the torque. Check out video part FAQ for more info, also ConleyPrecision. com
ill check it out but this engine sounds so sexy haha what does it run on 2 stroke ? and how much was it to buy ? because i may be looking into the same v8 if i can get one and fit it to a custom mustang :)
