- Armed Police are called to separate firearms incidents at multiple addresses in Cardiff during a very busy shift changeover, and were seen making several armed arrests in the Roath and Splott areas of the city, with weapons drawn.
First time seeing one of the BRAND NEW 2021 Volvo XC90 Armed Response Vehicles responding, in convoy with other undercover X5s. This was recently bought by South Wales Police, doesn't it look awesome with lights and sirens!

That Volvo's lighting is fantastic
1:24 gorgeous car and lighting setup!
Isn't it!
Will miss the Mondeo, always thought they were a great looking motor, some great catches there, nice to see variety of vehicles and different light set ups....
Police Mondeo is one of the greatest police vehicles.
Brilliant filming and great vehicles! 2:14 lol
Thanks for watching mate 👍
nice vid btw
A volvo and 2 BMW x5's ive seen loads about you can tell they're cops if you look at the aerials on the roof!!!
Two tones, not heard them in at least 20 years!
Awesome! Lovely collection or unmarkeds keep the good work up mate
Thanks mate 👍
Is it me or have they ditched those very low sirens, they fitted them here in Ireland from 2017, mostly on the armed units which is bizarre as you can't hear them ....
True
Snowflakes. When the “ new” sirens went on ambulances in Ireland all the morons whined about the noise level. Now they can barely be heard.
New volvo looks sexy
Muito bom! Esse Volvo XC90 é incrível.
super catch the police armed.
Thanks :)
those are nice bmx and volvos they drive, damn. excellent video as always. Cheers
Thank you so much for uploading this video..I hope the person is OK whoever the armed police came for
Thanks for watching mate

Super video!!
Awesome catches!!

Epic compilation mate
Thanks mate
Awkward sirens they have on that little island :D
Weird question but have the police ever flagged u down to say don’t video. But I love your channel, great vid
Haha yes many times😂thanks for watching
Awesome catches!
Thanks for watching!
guessing the volvos are replacing some of the older x5s then. Great video
Yup
Bad move, Volvo is a tractor, not a car
@@olasaven245 well in this video it’s a car not a tractor
volvos are crap. take it from someone driving them vs the x5s. Engine brackets constantly going and turbos. the petrol 2L engine is hopeless with allthat kit in it. The soft hybrid petrol makes minimal difference. The diesel isnt fast enough for the ARVs or TPAC. They should have gone X5 or X7 and stuck with the 3L similar to the 335d police spec
@@lightningpete well personally if I owned police IRV Toyota Land Cruiser x5 have air suspension issues and the Volvos a much worse the gasket issues and the Turbo issues and just ride like cow shit no no offense to any Volvo lovers
Fantástic
Thanks
Awesome video! These catches were great but.. 2:14 the f...
Typical day in Cardiff, it’s nuts. Obviously in Newport Road. 🏴

Brilliant. I still don't understand why the average cop doesn't pack heat. I've yet to visit a country where the average Street cop isn't armed.
Because the more Police you arm, the more criminals arm themselves.
@@jimpritchard4686 I don't believe that at all. Has there actually been studies or is that just folk lore? Criminals will arm themselves with the best they can get anyway
@@jimpritchard4686 just wow!
@@jimpritchard4686 wrong the criminals are already armed and dont give a shit hence the term criminals we dont have nice criminals who refuse to arm up because citizens / police dont carry guns
Usually when an AFO shoots someone, there's a lot of scrutiny behind that decision and rightfully so as it prevents officers from always going to a firearm and going to less lethal options first and using a firearm as a back up weapon, although not always practical. However, that scrutiny can place a lot of stress on that officer as s/he goes through the IOPC (if it was a clearly justified shooting, a NFA might be declared), a Public Inquiry and Crown Court and this process may take 10 years so a majority of officers probably don't want go through all that stress after having to discharge their firearm
I see a few grey un marked police cars in Cardiff.
Morrison’s sale must be really good!
Getting the fish & chips back to the station before they go cold!!
your vids proper entertain me keep up the amazing work :D
Thanks for watching!
They are seriously covert.
Awesome catches....
All that because karen wanted to talk too the manager, and ignoring that she was actually speaking to the manager 🤣 😂
I heard that, could hear the sirens in Paget street m8,did they come from llanrumney station?
They came from Rumney yeah
what happened looked cant find it any where
prob a stabbing their happening every day in cardiff
@@morggriffiths6292 nah not often i live there
@@morggriffiths6292 You'd see ambulances if someone was stabbed.
@@NickF14 Not in all instances. Ambulances have to wait for the scene to be cleared and deemed safe from the police. They wouldn’t start arriving until after the police confirm the scene is safe to operate in.
@@Connor_cwj I’m well aware of that, just that the abode seems to be totally unfounded speculation. In a lot of instances they’ll still be very close to the scene but just not out of the vehicle / in sight until it’s been deemed safe.
It’s not a pen it’s a dog cage 😂
Welsh. Paying for the new Cars. Not Westminster.
Did you notice white BMW X5 was a 2012 quite old
spare car I'd imagine
Sorry, it was me at 112 Operator sending everything I had to a lady who mistook the number of the police with her grandson.
why do none of the dash lights work on the x5s lol
wondering the same...
They're probably just plugged in to a 12v so aren't controlled through the control panel.
On the BMW demos the dash light only works when the headlights are turned off, guess these are the same model/wired the same.
@@burtz6631 but surely the wig wags mean headlights will technically always be on when responding lol
@@BenchTheKench69 if you look at the X5’s with the dash lights you’ll see that they don’t have the traditional wig-wag headlights. Instead they have white LEDs in the grille, ‘cause they have xenon headlights which don’t last very well with lots of flashing. The dash lights are set-up so if the headlight switch is set to On (or if it’s in Auto & it’s dark) the dash light signal is interrupted. Also note that early on in the video the dash lights do flash but later on when it’s dusk & the headlights are on they don’t flash.
Well, safe to say they're not going to a just stop oil protest 😂😂
The light packages on these unmarked X5s (presumably from the same force) seem totally random...
the unmarked police cars should not be shown online so every criminal knows what they look like
That black volvo runs also out of Cheltenham,
no it doesnt. its South Wales Police
The unmarked cars aren't really unmarked these days are they, with the amount of extra lights they have and other bits stuck to the outside lol.
over here in Germany new unmarked cars are much less suspicious than older ones; They went away from only using the large suspiciously unsuspicious BMW and Mercedes wagons and sedans but today you see all sorts of brands and cars of types among the unmarked cars; Also they don't have the classic large radio antenna any more, and the siren loudspeakers which used to visible right behind the grill in the older BMW is better hidden on modern ones as well
They're still bounds better than American unmarked cars, with full-size push bumpers and spotlights!
@@SlicerVorzakh That is very true XD
So, what went down then?
Does anyone know are the Volvos faster than the BMWs
From owning a volvo irl, I would say volvos can be very fast, though I haven't been in a BMW X5. Keep in mind, they most likely get vehicles with a higher spec due to it being a police package. I know Volvo gives a whole police package themselves.
There also is sport mode, though that was in an automatic D5 XC60. I presume that both are just roughly equal, though drivers won't go too fast because of health and safety, and also increases stopping distance if someome were to pull out or walk infront of the emergency vehicle.
Also to add to @@demonsmh‘s comment, the cars are also all tuned to the bollocks. They don’t admit it, but they are. Especially the BMW’s which is a 3.0/3.5 Twin Turbo usually.
When they used to have the older Volvos, I see one pull away from just near my house, the Officer put his foot to the floor and OH MY GOD!!! That back end just slapped down as if a ton of bricks were dropped in there 🤩.
Don’t forget as well, a lot of Police get rammed when pursuing people, so I should imagine a Volvo would come out of the winning end of the ram from the criminals.
I actually read something yesterday (wether it’s true or not) apparently all BMW’s (traffic) are being replaced by Peugeot’s, not too sure what Peugeot’s yet, but hopefully it’s a load of crap. As far as I’m aware, it’s not all areas, just some.
@@blackwatch9803 I think I saw the same article, they aren't replacing them with Peugeot in the long run. They are just the temporary replacement whilst the BMWs are on a safety recall. Volvo is the main contender in the Traffic/ARV World currently
@@blackwatch9803 I'd immediately trade our BMW response vehicle for a Peugeot to be honest. We used to have the BMW X3 which has at least some ground clearance and can handle some dirtroads, but it had poor handling in turns in wet conditions and pulled in every road rut due to the wide tires; Now we have the BMW 2 Gran Tourer ... oh great, let's take the BMW with THE slowest acceleration; Although its handling is better on the road, it's absolutely unsuitable for going on dirtroads or worse than that. Also it offers much too little space for all the equipment we carry in the doctor car. Also tops out at 217 kph / 135 mph already
@@EnjoyFirefighting That’s just stupid to especially if you need the space, they just don’t think ahead at times do they 🙄🤔
I quite like the look of the BMW’s, they’re really fast, spacious, seem to handle great, and I think that’s a list there in itself to keep them going on the road. It’s just stupidity to get rid of a good car to replace it with something with not enough space, slow as a wet weekend and can’t handle off road. You need the ability to go off road because people stealing cars/bikes these days will do absolutely ANYTHING to try outrun a well experienced Police Officer.
4:16 guess someone sent a mean tweet?
i was at the scene of this incident, apparently some millenial had been addressed as him instead of them and were upset and so the arv's were called
😂😂😂. But unfortunately possible
Where abouts was this in South Wales??

Do u have any clips of police cars in Coventry ?!
Have lots from Birmingham 😂
You should blur number-plates
Why?

What did one pig say to another?
"Time for some donuts"
Nando’s was running out of chicken so was every cop for themselves
Strange British police drive Scandinavian and German cars, German police drive German cars, French police drive French cars and Italian police drive Italian cars . Thankfully the UK doesn't have to put out "fair" tenders to purchase cars since brexit. Range Rover, Jaguar perhaps and before any loon remoaner rejoiner comments, yes they are not British companies but the vehicles are built in the UK.
I guess reliability is the issue
Most police forces in Europe have "foreign" cars on their fleets. I've seen police driving Subarus in France, Seats in Italy and pretty much every brand going in Spain and the UK and all the non-car producing countries. It was Hampshire Police that first took on foreign built cars in the UK, with the Volvo "Amazon" in 1965, and along with other police forces, they've had thousands of Volvos (and BMWs) since then.
Go back 30 years and Rovers were hugely popular, especially with the Met. There are still lots of police Range Rovers and a few Jags about.
Not exactly creaming ma pants over a few pig wagons. So what was all the fuss about?
Armed police? In my country every officer is armed ..
About 4% are armed in the UK
and?
That's because your country has serious gun violence issues
All that for a 6mm bb gun
PLASTIC COPS , I WANT MY MONEY BACK.
inequality and under-education is finally paying off for Cardiff
Holy shit! How much money and time did you waste (diesel/petrol) on following all the Police Vehicles for that video?
Na ! You can spot it a mile away, its the blue lights thats the giveaway. Anyway, where are they off to in so much of a hurry, probably going to smash down somebody's door because they've been watching porn on thier PC
When was that a crime?
The question I would like to have answered by Police Wales is why the silver BMW thinks he can put his emergency lights on jut because he doesn't want to wait at a red traffic light like anyone else? He wasn't going to an emergency as he didn't have them on until just before the red light. This is what pisses me off with police thinking they're above the law that applies to us, it applies to them as well.
You’re making a lot of assumptions here. They may of just received a call, or could of actually been responding and not turned the lights on yet. From the speed, it certainly looks as if this was the case. There isn’t a way for us to know either way, but I doubt that they would do this just to bypass a red light onto a main road.
how do you know he wasn't on a call and just didn't activate the lights until he got to the junction?
its an unmarked car the point is to blend in hence why lights are only used when doing stuff like going through reds
It is potential they wanted to get through traffic without being seen, and if they are nearby a subject they are after, they usually will only use the lights and sirens through intersections to not spook said individual.
I know they do this a lot, from experience and many documentaries. If say, they were going to bust a house or trying to locate someone on the move, and didn't want to spook/alert this individual they may only use lights and sirens in traffic/traffic lights.
I have occasionally wondered if officers do this, and occasionally depending on their leadership within their district, their dash cam, red light tickets and call history can be used for defense or prosecution.
Another thing, is they may get a red light ticket as I don't believe there was any statics, and this ticket is sent to the workshop who take care of fitting the vehicle with lights and do the maintenance for the police vehicles within the district. After they have proven they had not been responding, the officer will be fined and such, as it will take money from their budget. Just decreases the officers earnings so it is against policy. Though, training vehicles are excluded.
Actually I believe the police can use their exemptions without using blues and twos.
Very interesting… zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

They can't shoot the stabbers at least they can flex with cars, pathetic security force called ''police'' in UK
