    Agreed with everything. It boggles my mind that GM would just ditch the somewhat-better interior materials (along with color and trim) from the ATS on this car. I don't care that they think that it competes in a size class below the ATS now, that doesn't stop Mercedes-Benz from making a decent interior for the A-Class.
    I too, miss the ATS Coupe. Thanks, CUV buyers. 😞

    Great video, still absolutely baffled by the decision to name this a "V" rather than a "V Sport" - changing name constantly is Cadillac's downfall, that, and parts bin GM decisions. This is a case of a marketing team trying to be too cute - these people are not enthusiasts so they don't understand how to position these cars correctly.

  • @darrell9616

    I agree with you about this car. GM keeps shooting themselves in the foot with this brand by trying to save a few dollars per unit when they need to be best in class to re-establish themselves. They caught a clue with the Escalade, but they need to do that across the entire portfolio. Until they do, I will continue to look elsewhere.

    I don't know why Cadillac skimps on the interior especially when you have the genisis of the world crushing it. I'd rather get a G80 and get the whole package.

    • @miraphycs7377
      @miraphycs7377 3 года назад +3

      G80 doesn't compete with this car though. G80 competes with the CT5 but are significantly more expensive. Better interior or not, you are paying for it. Base 4 cylinder G80 starts where the base CT5 ends and around mid-spec CT5-V. The G70 competes with the CT4. G70 and CT4 both have equally questionable interiors which aren't the best of both brands. But for around the same price or cheaper in some instances CT4 gives you faster more straight-line performance better handling and corner-carving machine thanks to being lighter, better sorted chassis with world-class magnetic ride control. It is also more reliable as well.

    • @tintocherian7715
      @tintocherian7715 Год назад +1

      Problem is because sales of the last gen ATS and CTS were lackluster they decided to drop the prices significantly in order to compete and attract younger buyers but with the new lower prices they had to sacrifice the interior...

    • @MotoManTV
      @MotoManTV  3 года назад

      Very sorry to hear that feedback, Anthony. Sadly, have heard it all too often since 2016. That is when we RUclips changed everything and our growth trajectory literally hit a wall. How? Prior to July 2016, we grew from 10,000 subs to 140,000 subs in 14 months. After July of 2016, we went from 140,000 subs to the 221,000 you see today - 61,000 subs in an almost FIVE YEAR period. Have asked for insight from RUclips for years but all requests have fallen on deaf ears. That said, can see the issue pretty clearly - which you underscore in your comment: Only about 3% of our 221,000 base is getting notified AND watching the episodes. Would love for this to change but this is the big reason why we have been building audiences at AppleTV and Amazon for years now.

    I traded my 2013 ATS Premium V6 in for a 2018 ATS Premium V6 with low miles rather than buy a new CT4V. I did not like the styling of the CT4V compared to the ATS and when I drove a CT4V for a week (as a loaner) I was not impressed with the hum drum styling and the turbo lag sucked as did the euro dash board lay out. The new CT4 looks plain jane unfortunately, so I will wait for the next attempt from Cadillac when it replaces the CT4 sometime down the road. By the way, the rear end is a design disaster. it looks like an Asian rear end.

      "no quality/reliability separation between brands today"
      There is still quality and reliability difference alright. I don't see or hear any Japanese or American cars, EV or ICE catching on fire unlike Korea POS Hyundai and Commie China INC. Nor astronomical and complicated repairs like the Euros.
      "The Japanese lead in nothing automotive today"
      You also sound like anti-Japanese. Did some Japanese hurt you, or are a WW2 Veteran Great Grandpa? Thank you for your service if it is the latter case. LOL
      1)They still lead in traditional mechanical and electrical components. Enough that General Motors uses ISUZU "Rice" Duramax Diesel and NTN Driveshaft for the GMT T1XX. Aisin, Denso, NGK supplying parts to nearly all OEMs. Again why would OEMs keep buying these parts if they charge top dollars and are inferior like you claim? Even Tesla made in the USA uses Japanese batteries. Yamaha supplies high performance motors to Tesla and Lucid. How would they be getting dusted when they control the supply chain of parts both ICE and EV?
      2)Likewise, why does nearly all OEMs use Reneseas a Japanese semiconductor company that specializes in automobiles eventhough it is much cheaper and far better to use a US one?
