Hearing this song makes me sad😢 remembering my beloved brother sang this in the middle of his battle with immunocompromised disease😭 now he is up there myb setting his wings soar high while we still miss him in tears
Kendra, first, let me say I am so sorry about the loss of your brother. Unfortunately, I am no stranger to losing my loved ones way too early.
I just wanted to let you know how much your post thrilled my soul and lifted me up as I was about to fall in battle if it were not for that simple post. It reminded me of that verse that says “to live is Christ but to die is truly gain“. That may not be verbatim, but it’s pretty darn close.
I suffer from autoimmune issues, primarily Crohn’s and medication induced lupus. I was pretty much bed confined for the better part of 10 years. I had accepted that this was more than likely the way it was going to end. but three years ago God lifted me up from my deathbed, and it continued to help me stand . I have went to college when the pandemic hit to get my English lit degree. Being in college at 58 years old is quite an experience, but now I’m at a crossroads on which writing path to take having multiple directions I can take. I was leaning towards a fiction novel that I am working on went out of the blue. I find out that the name of the town which is central to the book has already been taken in a failed TV series. 😮
So yeah, things hadn’t been very peachy. Basically, just wanted to practically write an hour to tell you how grateful I am for your post.

Oh my goodness! Kaleb, my kids and I are just coming from rehearsing this song. You should hear how we harmonized it. We did the original "Amazing Grace" for the first verse but the sang the chorus, "My Chains are Gone" as it is here. They haven't mastered it yet. Beautiful! I like all your piano covers. They inspire me to keep on learning piano and learn new amazing songs for God's glory. Could you suggest me some composers of christian songs and hymns for piano both classical and comtemporary christian music sheet, please? I have been learning by ear through the major and minor scales songs such as As the Deer, Shout to the Lord, To God be the glory and some other ones that i play in the church, but i would like start learning more music theory and music sheet reading of professional composers of christian songs.
