Bergenline was beautiful back in the days. Unfortunately history has been forgotten its beauty. We went from having luxury stores like Woolworth to a bunch of third world store. Bergenline now looks like a Flea market. Sorry I'm trying not to sound rude just being honest on how I see things now with all respect.
there's no place like bergenline avenue. you can walk all those blocks and don't realize you walked about 15 blocks. I grew up there in the 80's worked there for 5 years.. after high school.
George Armenteros thanks George!!! Some places are probably still there from when you were a kid...Miami Shoes and Sals Pizza have been there a very long time...most of my friends growing up were all Cuban...there was a very large population in the 80's and 90's...I go to Miami every summer!!! Love it there also!!!
George Armenteros holy shit, i lived right in that building over the salon on the right in the beginning of the video when i was 9 years old also came from Cuba. Do you know that exact address on there?
I used to take the ""22 Hillside" bus from Fairview to shop in West New York on Bergenline when I was a kid.

I agree with you, lived in Union City from 1964 to 1979 totally different.
The name of the great mens store which anchored Bergenline Avenue was Schlesingers not Schelingers.I had a part time job there in 1958.
