@@DenisRichardJr My 10 year old is learning this song and we're using this as the reference.
Best drum cover of this on youtube, by a long shot. My band is doing this song live later this month and i have used your vid to practice. Thanks!
Thanks paulmcmanus00! Glad it help you play it. Sorry for the very belated response :)
Shit how did it go after 10 years?
i like it man!! great stuff
Glad you like it! Thank you!
best drum cover of this song EVER!
Thanks :) NCR
aaaaaaaaaaand 11 years later, I'd like to thank you for this video, cuz I'm going to use it to learn this song so I can teach it, slowly, to a future student! Kinda makes it easy that he hits the snare at the same time he raises the hi-hat on those verses--right?
Ahhh thanks so much!! This is one of my first videos. So the production is old but the cover, yeah it's still solid ! Thanks again for writing to me. Cheers ! 🥁😊🤟
A truly great drum piece and you nailed it. Awesome
Thanks a lot!
@@DenisRichardJr you're welcome
Love your hi hat sound sir.. (snare drum and bass drum as well) but when Hi hat is mastered they make good songs turn into great songs. Congrats..
Thank you!! :)
@paulmcmanus00 Ahh thanks so much. Glad I could help! I love this band and it was fun covering it. That said, I do make sure I know the song to a "T" before I even think of posting anything. So your comment proves I did my homework thanks. Have a great show.
super parfait!! j'aime trop !!
Merci!
Dude you ROCK!!
Thanks Michael! Sorry for the very belated response :)
Love this cover so much. Seriously is the best cover of this awesome band's song on RUclips. I'm performing this next month!
P.S Loving your face at 2:09 "So I can't complain!" Haha.
Ahh thanks Carly, I am just having some fun :P Did it help to play it? Cheers!
All thank you!! Much appreciated. Have a listen to the others covers on my channel pls:) All the best !
Bravissimo!

Great cover and a plus you look like you're having fun.
Ahh thanks. Of course drums are fun! :)
Great song. Well done =)

Thanks :)
You’re incredible, you should do a cover of New by them
Ahh thanks for the compliment. Ah yeah. That is a good song. I'll check it out! Cheers :)
Good cover bro. Cool drumming in that song
Thanks clinton187!
Nicely done!
Thank you Ramiro :)
well done Denis!! im playing with you this cool song, thanks!
Cool Eloi Cheers!
I'm just impressed. It seems to be so easy for you to use Hi-Hat indifferently with your right or your left hand.
so versatile!
Thanks Eric. Yeah I started doing that years ago to improve my left hand. Turns out it is a style that already exists called open handed drumming. Billy Cobham is the master at this! Cheers!
Genial!!
Merci Juan!
good energy for drumming
Thanks Christyan! Sorry for the very belated response :)

Thanks Edgar!
Awesome cover! :)
Thanks Ammy!! :)
Nice
Thanks Brian!
Nice Cover!
Thanks :)
It is indeed the best drum cover of this song!!! Is it possible to get the drum notations? Where could I get them. Fantastic job!
Hi Monica! Thank you so much. I about to redo this one since it's been a decade. I have better cameras and mics now so when I do, i'll make sure to add the notations in the description. Stay tuned !
I'll keep my eyes open to that!! Indeed, best drum cover of this song. You're a great drummer!!!!!
You look like Gru from Despicable Me! In the best way
''You've got to be pulling on my leg'' :P Thank for the compliments. Hope the cover helps you. Cheers!
@@DenisRichardJr Hahah!! Cheers :)
Thank you for the cover love this song :)
Your welcomed Bethany! Cheers!
u forgot the flam...ITS A GREAT COVER!!!
Did I?? ;) Thanks !!!
good job
Thanks :)
Nice Playing Man!!
Thanks Adrian! :)
@@DenisRichardJr lol 5 years ago, but good as it got me to watch it again! And it still sounds great, lol
I played bass for a band on that song, was great to learn
A lot tighter than the original performance. Lacks some of the hard hits, but you really honed in on the rhythm and the switches, so I gotta give you props! Nice cover, dude!
I appreciate that! Thanks :)
I know bollocks-all about drumming but this song always sounded nails hard to play on them, you've just made it look like the easiest song in the world - fair play! Immense
Thanks :)
What kind of drum head you used in your snare? Great cover btw, 9 years later.
Thanks! I believe back then it was the good old Remo Coated Ambassador. A classic for snares. Cheers!
Ah thanks! Yeah, I have this thing where to keep me entertained I switch hands. Only to find out later that Billy Cobham has been doing it for like ever. hihi. Cheers.
cool
Thanks :)
i so love the sound of your kit! especially your hats and cymbals. may I know what is the brand? Thanks!
Zildijian A quick beats on hi-hats and A and K's for the crashes. Cheers!
like a text book
Thanks :)
And that's what I call are real snare
Thanks! It's a Pearl Piccolo. Cheers!
I was in 6th grade and my life changed
It is a great track :)
how is this counted...time signature. 4/4?
Hi Wes. Yes its in 4/4. Adrian is just playing with the back beat. Which is typical in punk/ska music. During the verses he plays the back beat on 3 (or in half time) During the chorus he plays it on all 4's ( Oh, you came in with the breeze...) and then plays it like most songs in beats 2 and 4. (I thought I knew you...). That's why it feels different at times but it is always in 4/4. Let me know if I can help you with anything else :) Cheers!
Denis little stiff(more accents) but great fundamentals and swing, maybe try it next time with just a Banana Hammock on Adrian would be proud lol
Hey Knock Knock. Unsure about the stiffness your talking about but ok. :P As for the Banana Hammock. I didn't know what it was. I went looking.. OMG!! LOL! :P I'll think about it for next time. All the best man !
@@DenisRichardJr stiffness was a joke but accents are your friend on this song IMO I know Adrian personally and he wore the banana hammock and would say it helped his chops lol
Is this song difficult to play on drums? I'm just curious
Hello Eric. This really is actually quite easy IF you understand half time grooves ( that is the snare hitting on beat 3 of the bar). The rest is just playing the kick on all beats (all fours) really,.
The most difficult part comes at 2:00 when there is a 3 against 2 polyrhythm between the left hand (playing the 3'S) and the right hand (playing the normal 8th or 2's).
Then the last bit would be the single stroke rolls at the end of the song while hitting the 1 and 3's on the crash cymbal. And that's about it :) Does that clarify a bit the song for you? Don't be shy to ask more question my friend. Cheers!
That was actually quite accurate, thanks
Glad to help! Please feel free to see my other videos. All the best :)
Thanks, the truth is I'm not a drummer burning might try them out one day
Not when he plays it
Just one word to describe your performance:TALENTED
Ahhhh Thanks Patrick :)
