Nevermind this story. My mate said Rishi called the election because there's a war coming in the summer and he wants out. I said it's nonsense, but curious how national service is part of this election today...
It could be either,world or civil.
The only war coming this summer will be the culture war. More of the same nonsense from the alt-right and their fellow far right wingers.
That was my first thought as well.
It was announced in the last 15 minutes of Dr Who episode 2 or 3 weeks ago. I'm not kidding btw. The weird villain who was stealing harmony out of the universe, said he was going to destroy the world in June 2024. It was as specific as that. I swear I'm not kidding.

Smart phones ruined everything
100% and I'd say the internet in general has to go too. It used to be fun and interesting, now it's just a parasitic entity on everything.
Of course we can switch off the technology individually. I have very little technology and certainly do not use Alexa and the like. Say no to all the cookies. It can be done. Switch off the WiFi at night too. You will sleep better. Get out and interact with people. Get a bike or walk.
These mega tech companies know they can't just be _evil_ , they've gotta be _useful_ so people tolerate them!
We shape our technology and then our technology shapes us. As Marshall McLuhan said 'the medium is the message, not it's content'. We are wearing our brains outside our skulls, extending our nervous system outside ourselves.
So i guess this is an existential human shift. The last time we had a shift that big was with the invention of the alphabet. Think about it!
It is people's behavior on the internet and social media that creates the algorithms. Using simple statistics in a smart fast way. And most people love it.
The three worst inventions - Religion, Multiculturalism and the Internet. In a few years it will be four when you add in Artificial Intelligence.
So when are you going to give up all four then?
Maybe Ted Kaczynski was right?
